Mysteries: Arcana Wars

Chapter 21 Wishes Come True

What wish will she make?

The miracle magician's narrowed eyes were filled with smiles.

Crane was very curious about this and he looked at Geraldine secretly.

Geraldine didn't speak for a long time after suddenly receiving such an invitation. She bit her fingers excitedly, her face flushed with excitement, and she was eager to try, curious about what kind of unexpected and exclusive surprise Klein would bring her. But this invitation to fulfill three wishes sounded a bit strange, like some kind of fictional fairy tale, or a clever trick to lure people into a trap. However, everyone couldn't help but feel a little moved when they heard this sentence. Dissatisfaction with every bit of current life would make people have a strong urge from the bottom of their hearts to believe that this sentence could really bring them changes that fell from the sky.

Perhaps it sounded too mysterious, Geraldine blinked, her clear eyes rolling around. She looked at Klein, then cautiously at Leonard, as if she was seeking the advice of her old boss. When Leonard nodded, Geraldine, who had received permission, moved closer to the magician with some anticipation.

"Anything is okay?"

"Of course!"

"Then I want to be discharged from the hospital! I want to recover!" Geraldine smiled powerfully, "Consider it my first wish!"

"As you wish, ma'am."

Klein flexed his fingers and reached into his cloak. When he reached out his hand again, he had an ancient cane in his hand. He turned the cane several times between Klein's flexible fingers, and then gently tapped Geraldine's forehead.

Oops, this move seems a bit like Cardcaptor Sakura, Klein complained to himself in his heart.

Then, the seal is lifted!

Geraldine opened her eyes in surprise. She felt a warm feeling spreading across her limbs and back, and the original itchy and sore feeling disappeared. She quickly took off her coat, ignoring the nurse's exclamation, and quickly peeled off the bandages on her hands and legs. Under the bandages, she saw elastic and shiny skin, and the hideous wounds were gone without a trace.

Geraldine scratched her back in disbelief. It was burned accidentally during the coma and explosion in the kidnapping case, but now it felt like fresh and smooth skin, even without the roughness of a traveler, like a real young girl.

"I'm really cured! Did it cure all my problems in one go?"

“Of course.” Klein smiled.

Geraldine was very excited to witness the miracle. She immediately jumped out of bed and ran around on the ground, and suddenly she felt her body light and her meridians relaxed - not only the injuries from the kidnapping, but also the old illnesses and internal injuries left in the army were all healed.

Klein once again performed a trick with his Staff of Life, then stood still with the staff, a broad smile on his face.

Fortunately, the skill of historical projection is not greatly affected by changes in the world line, and it still retains various "connections" with history.

This makes sense, Klein thought. Even if this is a modified world line, a world line without the Moretti family and the Church of Fools, history cannot be changed. What has happened has already happened. Even if there is no Church of Fools and Tarot Club, no Melissa and Benson, the extra gaps will be deconstructed and repaired by other things, and the original events will be reorganized in another way.

No one can defeat history, just as no one can truly conquer fate. It is just a big lie. If you really want to control everything, it is wishful thinking.

However, these changes in the world line did not have no impact on the skill of historical projection. Some details of some historical events that Klein was originally familiar with had changed, resulting in a decrease in Klein's mastery of this part of history. However, he was still able to handle it with ease and it was not to the point where it could not be used.

As for the historical fragments that Klein had personally experienced, summoning them was still smooth, but if it involved summoning the historical projections of some characters, it was better to be careful. After all, in the current world line, there was no Klein Moretti of the Fifth Epoch, and no big shots knew him. If the historical projection of a person he suddenly summoned was discovered by the real owner, the real owner would probably chase him, a poor, weak, and helpless little fortune-teller angel, and beat him to a pulp.

"Only three wishes? Only three wishes?"

Geraldine now had full faith in Klein's miracle. She ran back to Klein and Leonard, pointed her finger at him and smiled at him.

"Actually, I have four small wishes. In my life plan, I want to complete four life goals before I turn 30."

She held up three fingers.

"I have my own motorcycle, my own house, and my own husband!"

"...But you only have two wishes left." Klein's face showed no emotion, but in his heart he was madly hoping that this lady would not pester him to fulfill his last wish.

"Wait, there's another goal?" Leonard interrupted. He suddenly became curious. He had known Geraldine for so long, and this was the first time he heard of Geraldine's theory.

"Hey, keep it secret!"

Geraldine smiled mysteriously, then she coughed a few times to clear her throat and spoke in a serious tone.

"As for the motorcycle, I actually just bought it not long ago, which is considered to be the realization of one of my life goals. So, Mr. Magician, please help me realize my second wish: buy me a house! I want a big house with a total of 80 square meters on the upper and lower floors!"

You really are asking for too much! Klein silently pitied his own poverty. The miracle magician in front of you lives in a single apartment of 30 or 40 square meters. Where does he get the money to buy you a whole house? You probably have no idea about Backlund's desperate housing prices.

"The requirements are that the procedures are complete, the transaction is transparent, the source is traceable, the property rights are complete, and it is legal and compliant."

Well, you have a lot of conditions. I originally wanted to use historical projection and illusion to get away with it. At worst, I could just make more projections to deal with it, but it sounds a bit difficult now.

"I want the old house at No. 36 Honeysuckle Street. Make a precise wish!"

Your wish is so accurate!

Seeing that the magician was just smiling but actually silent, Geraldine changed the subject and chuckled.

"Don't worry, I'm such a kind person, why would I blackmail you for money?"

She turned around and took out a file bag from the drawer and handed it to Klein. Klein opened it and saw that it contained all the property certificates and identity information, as well as various apartment types information about No. 36 Honeysuckle Street.

It seems that Geraldine had actually started planning to buy a house a long time ago. She had done all the homework and only needed to go through the house transfer procedures.

"Where did you get so much money?" Leonard, who was standing by, couldn't hold back his glacial expression. His cold tone couldn't suppress a hint of shock. "You don't have any notable family background in your profile!"

"Mr. Leonard, don't forget what a first-class individual merit in the army means!" Geraldine was delighted again when talking about her glorious history. "That's a lot of money!"

"But if I want to buy a house in Backlund with just that, it's still a little short of what I can afford. That's why I only started thinking about it after I retired from the military. But even with my salary over the past few years, I'm still a little short of buying this old, dilapidated house."

So Geraldine looked at Leonard happily and handed the third-class merit bonus that she had just warmed up to Klein.

"But now with this amount, it's just enough!"

Well, this suddenly became a task of running errands. Klein breathed a sigh of relief. "Provide a house for someone" could be considered a building-related wish, and it was one of the most practical wishes he had received since waking up.

"Yes ma'am, your wish will come true."

But how to make it happen made Klein worried. Now he was the miracle magician Merlin Hermes, and he had a certain level of prestige, and he wanted his words to be effective on the spot. And Geraldine was a very meticulous person, and she would not stop until she saw the real estate certificate with his name on it was taken from her hand and put into her hand. Although electronic payment has become popular now, there are inevitably some procedures that can only be done in person, but Klein didn't have a decent secret doll now, and he couldn't disappear in the ward immediately to go and handle the procedures (in this era where open flames are not popular, you can't even jump into someone else's kitchen with flames), and he had to maintain his image in front of Geraldine and not show his cowardly appearance...

So, in the busy, serious and efficient service hall, a strange "person" wearing three layers of clothes walked in. It was Klein who manipulated several cat and dog puppets to transform into different parts and barely formed a shaky, patchwork "person". It used thick clothes to cover the details of its original body shape, and wrapped its face tightly with sunglasses, masks and hats. Then, before the terrified counter lady trembled and pressed the alarm bell, it put the house purchase information and cards into the exchange column under the sharp eyes of all the security guards. The strange hoarse voice was trying its best to squeeze out the most gentle and friendly tone.

"Hello, ma'am, could you please help me with the house purchase procedures..."
