Mysteries: Arcana Wars

Chapter 204 Gilda

"Shh, be quiet."

Hearing the blonde's instructions, Fors immediately covered her mouth and followed behind on tiptoe.

After passing through two twisted spaces, they finally saw some traces of people in this strange place for the first time.

Fresh footprints appeared on the dusty ground, and judging from the size and pattern, there should be two people. They cleaned up a clean area in this space, wiped off the dust on the ground, picked up some broken cement and furniture fragments and piled them up in the open space to build a small rest station, with small benches made of waste materials, a small fire made of bricks, and they even found a dusty plastic chair.

"Is this...are there any survivors near us, Miss Gilda?"

"I think so, Sister Bessie. Unfortunately, the survivors are not necessarily friends. They may also be enemies."

Gilda, a sexy girl with wavy blonde hair and a baseball cap, walked in front of Fors, approaching the small camp cautiously with a flashlight.

Fors did not tell Gilda her real name, but used the pseudonym Bessie Beach, which was registered in Cotton Lane.

The footprints left on the ground were messy. The two men seemed to have circled around the camp again and again, probably checking whether the environment was safe. There were no signs of fighting on the ground, so it seemed that the two men were in the same group, or had reached some kind of consensus peacefully.

Gilda carefully followed the chaotic footprints and finally concluded that the two people stationed here had left the camp and walked in another direction.

There were still two or three dim sparks in the gray fire. Since they had started a fire, there must be a fire, which is an important treasure in a place like this.

Gilda swung the flashlight and saw a small object under the chair.

"What is that?" Fors asked.

"lighter."

"...Why is this lighter...different from the one I usually use?"

"Because this is Fenepot's original lighter, it burns oil. The people of Loen don't like it. It's expensive, not easy to use, and it has a smell. So Loen sells electric spark lighters."

Gilda talked eloquently, tying up her golden curly hair and waving her flashlight.

"See the transparent part of the lighter? That's the oil box that the Fenapotes use to store kerosene. Normally, it's filled with fuel oil, which is very useful here!

"But this lighter doesn't seem to have much oil left... Never mind, even if this Feynaport lighter looks unusable, you can still get a lot of oil out of it! Wait here."

Gilda picked up a short stick from the camp and crouched down to slowly approach the lighter. When her short stick was about to reach the lighter, Gilda seemed to have a new idea and stood up immediately.

Then Gilda picked up the plastic chair and sat on it smoothly. She supported her chin and legs with her hands, sat on the plastic chair and began to think about life.

"Miss Gilda?"

Gilda's action was completely beyond Fors's expectations. Confused and frightened, Fors patted Gilda carefully.

"Thank you, Sister Bessie, I'm fine. I mean, I appreciate your concern. You know, to receive such a blessing in such a desperate situation is simply..."

Fors had an expression of disbelief on his face. Then the detective and the adventurer suddenly rushed out from the other side. This development made Fors even more dumbfounded.

Klein and Leonard also did not expect the development of the situation.

They first prepared a recently burned fire and deliberately placed objects to create a safe house that looked like someone had been there and just left. They also poured the fuel from Klein's lighter into a small bottle and threw an exhausted but still residual Feynapotter lighter under the [Thinker's Chair] to induce the other party to sit on the chair and be imprisoned in it. Finally, the two cleaned up the dust around the hideout and removed the excessive footprints, leaving only the outer traces that indicated that the owner had left.

This trick was actually more effective than they had imagined, but what the two hadn't expected was that the visitor was actually Fors and the female adventurer who had bought the antique long pipe in Evernight Harbor and given them the iron door to escape.

The reunion was undoubtedly a joy. However, Klein and Leonard could trust Fors, but that didn't mean they could completely trust Gilda, even though this female adventurer who showed up halfway had shown them kindness many times.

Amid Gilda's mumbling, the detective and the adventurer circled the Thinker's Chair several times and asked a few meaningless questions. After confirming that Gilda was completely controlled by this powerful chair, they began to prepare to interrogate Gilda.

The person in charge of the inquiry is of course the professional detective Leonard.

"How did you meet Bessie Beach here?"

"That's a really good question. How did I meet Sister Bessie here? But how should I answer you on this question? Do you want to know the time, place, or other more abstract and illusory answers? I can tell you directly that I fell into this place from the booming Cotton Alley explosion, and then picked up the familiar Sister Bessie while wandering around. But is this really the answer to this question? The encounter between one person and another in this world..."

"Stop." Leonard interrupted in time, "This is the answer to this question. Next question."

I have to say that this [Thinker's Chair] is really a good thing for obtaining intelligence. When the "user"'s mind is filled with useless and retardant thoughts, he will reduce his reaction and control to the outside world to the minimum, and answer any questions completely instinctively and without thinking. But the problem is that this useful information is mixed in with a lot of nonsense, and it is a headache for the torturer just to distinguish these things.

So Gilda was just an unlucky victim of the Cotton Alley bombing, and then she met Fors, whom she had met once, and they acted together.

Thinking back to their first meeting at the antique stall, this mysterious and hot Gilda was particularly interested in Fors. She was dropped in the furniture store and was willing to take a stranger with her. Leonard was a little concerned about this, so he asked the second question.

"Have you ever seen Bessie before?"

"It depends on how you define 'meeting'. Meeting seems to be a coincidence, but if we look at the problem from a larger perspective, it seems to be an inevitable fact. Maybe we have breathed the same air, which is also a meeting. Maybe we have seen the same moon, which is also a meeting. If you count it this way, our fate can be said to be long-lasting, so long that the encounter at the Earthworm Island Bar at that time seemed too insignificant. So in answering this question, we have to face a fact, that is..."

"Wait, what did you say? Earthworm Island Bar?!"

Klein immediately caught a key word.

Suddenly, he felt his thoughts come to him. Then Klein immediately stepped forward and touched Gilda, who was sitting still like a sculpture, all over her body. Finally, amid Fors's horrified scream, he unhesitatingly dug out a bright red scarf from Gilda's proud cleavage.

The last time Klein saw this red triangle bandana was on Earthworm Island. A middle-aged man wearing a red triangle bandana keenly spotted Leonard's pair of police leather shoes in the crowd.

The adventurer held the red triangle bandana in front of Gilda and asked with a cold look.

"who are you?"

"That's a really good question. What kind of image a person has depends on the angle from which you look at him. We all know that as long as it makes sense, it must be considered carefully. So we can also say that who I am can be defined by where I am and what I am doing. When I am a middle-aged man who drinks secretly on Earthworm Island and doesn't want to be seen, I can be Uncle Coulomb. When I want to do some business and get some information in Evernight Harbor, I am mostly the yellow-haired Sito. If I want to get close to some women, then I'd better be the blonde Gilda...

"Of course, I still like everyone to call me...

"Seven of Hearts."
