The puppy's ears were drooping, as if it was frightened by the little Baka who was making a lot of noise. It trembled in Tao Zhi's hands, with watery eyes and a pitiful look, but it didn't say a word.
The little Baka seemed unwilling to pay attention to Tao Zhi and buried his head in Gong Cheng's arms, sobbing.
Tao Zhi lifted its chin and asked it to raise its head.
"Little bastard, if you have nothing in your eyes, why don't you dare to look at it?" Tao Zhi said jokingly.
The little Baka and the puppy looked at each other, both with tears in their eyes.
Suddenly, his nose felt something wet and soft. Little Baga stopped humming and stared without blinking at the puppy in front of him that was licking his nose with its little tongue.
The little Baga was stunned for a moment, then stuck out his tongue and washed the puppy's face with just one stroke.
The puppy was not scared by the little Baga's big tongue. After all, his mother had licked him like this before.
Seeing that their relationship seemed to have eased a little, Tao Zhi grinned and put the puppy on the ground, and Gong Cheng followed suit.
Both dogs were curious about each other, sniffing each other's scent.
Little Baga carefully poked the puppy several times with his paws. Although his movements were very gentle, the puppy still staggered and fell, then got up and followed Little Baga.
Little Baga was afraid of stepping on it, so he dodged a few times, but found that the puppy was following him. So he became interested and teased it to follow him in circles.
Tao Zhi felt relieved when he saw the two of them playing, as he thought the little bastard would be jealous for a while.
"Gong Cheng, have you given it a name?" Tao Zhi asked.
"No, just call it a puppy." Gong Cheng replied truthfully.
"Tsk, you're so ungentlemanly." Tao Zhi complained.
Tao Zhi looked at the two dogs who were playing happily and suddenly had an idea.
"Since we already have a little Baga, how about having another little Xiba?" Tao Zhi asked.
Gong Cheng's mouth corners curled up slightly.
"Okay, I'll listen to you." Gong Cheng replied.
Tao Zhi watched the dogs playing, and Gong Cheng looked at Tao Zhi sideways, with ripples of emotion and tenderness in his eyes.
The housekeeper quietly watched Gong Cheng watching Tao Zhi watching the dog, and continued to play his role as the background board.
Gong Cheng hesitated for a while and then spoke.
"Mr. Tao, I left an important thing in that room. Would it be convenient for me to go and look for it?" Gong Cheng asked.
After hearing this, Tao Zhi's heart skipped a beat and the word "panic" was written directly on his eyes.
"Well, the room is too dirty and there's no place to stay. Vice President Gong, what are you looking for? I'll ask the housekeeper to look it over for you now." Tao Zhi said.
Without waiting for Gong Cheng to speak, the housekeeper spoke first.
"The room was cleaned yesterday and it's spotless now," the housekeeper said truthfully.
Tao Zhi's expression suddenly broke, and he stared at the housekeeper.
No, you?
"If there is something in the room that Mr. Tao cares about and it is inconvenient for me to see it, then I won't force you to do it." Deputy Gong lowered his eyes and said.
Tao Zhi raised his eyebrows when he heard this.
What this means is that not letting Gong Cheng in is equivalent to acknowledging that the furnishings in the room are as important to him as they were in the past.
Tao Zhi looked at the housekeeper, as if asking for help.
"Are you sure you cleaned it thoroughly?"
Is the quilt folded? Is the toilet paper in the trash can emptied? Are all traces of living there cleaned up? Tao Zhi asked with his eyes.
"Yes, sir," the butler replied.
Tao Zhi felt relieved after hearing this.
"What's there for me to worry about? It's just some garbage and debris that you forgot to throw away. If Vice President Gong doesn't mind the dirtiness, I'll ask the housekeeper to open the door for you now." Tao Zhi smiled.
"Thank you, Mr. Tao." Gong Cheng replied.
Although Tao Zhi comforted himself that it was nothing, since he had already found an excuse of "I was too lazy to deal with it" last time, it was not strange to be seen that the contents of the room had not been changed.
But when the housekeeper turned the key to open the door and pressed the doorknob, Tao Zhi subconsciously grabbed the doorknob with his hand and pulled the door back open. His heartbeat immediately became uncontrollable.
Gong Cheng remained silent, just watching Tao Zhi's strange behavior with a calm expression.
Tao Zhi naturally realized that his behavior was actually making things more obvious, so he had to force a smile, pretending to stand up straight, and making a gesture of inviting people in with his hands.
"I saw Vice President Gong revisiting the old place, so I wanted to create a sense of ceremony and atmosphere for you. Please come in, Vice President Gong." Tao Zhi said with a grin.
Gong Cheng stretched out his hand, and his fingertips trembled slightly as they fell on the door handle. His heart was entangled and pulled, and there was a slight pain, and ripples appeared in his eyes, but Tao Zhi did not notice.
The door was opened and a neat bed was visible.
Tao Zhi saw that the bed was tidy and the trash can was empty, and silently gave a thumbs up to the housekeeper.
Gong Cheng stepped in and felt extremely depressed.
Three years have passed, and I actually have the chance to step into this room again.
After seeing the furnishings and things in the house clearly, Gong Cheng's pupils suddenly contracted and his heart trembled for a moment.
I saw the curtains tied on both sides, and the sunlight poured through the windows onto the desk, which was piled with some documents and files, looking a bit messy.
Gong Cheng took a step forward, only to feel his feet become heavy.
Gong Cheng lowered his head and looked at the information book in the middle of the table that was stopped at a certain page. Although it was not stained with dust, the pages had turned yellow and dull due to the passage of time, reminding Gong Cheng that three years had passed.
The cap of a ballpoint pen next to it has been there for three years and it still hasn't been put back on.
Every time Gong Cheng's eyes fell on the room, he was moved unconsciously.
In a trance, Gong Cheng had the illusion that everything in the past three years was just a dream.
It was as if she had never been kicked out of the villa and had never been separated from her husband.
It was like I just went out in the morning and came back in the afternoon.
I am still the Gong Cheng who can rely on and miss my husband, and my husband is still the one who will gently brush the snow off my hair when I come back.
