After Jiang Nansheng came out of the lecture hall, he slowly walked down the stone steps.

There are nine-story halls in the temple. The lecture hall is located in the fourth hall. It has a single-eaved hip roof with a large ridge, black glazed tiles with green edges, and the three-step single-angle brackets are also covered in white.

Huguo Temple is located halfway up the mountain. After the first snow, the mountains in the distance are surrounded by layers of snow, all covered in silver, as if wrapped in white, which is beautiful beyond words.

Before he knew it, Jiang Nansheng walked to the plum tree where he had met Gu Jinchu again.

An old monk in a gray robe stood alone beside the branches and trunks covered with snow. His eyes on his old face were full of wisdom and compassion.

The old monk put his hands together, a string of honey-colored Buddhist beads hanging in his palms. His voice seemed to come from far away: "Do you still have any delusions in your heart now?"

Jiang Nansheng stopped there and felt that the old monk looked familiar.

Although he did not believe in Buddhism, his mother at home worshipped Buddha and had read Buddhist scriptures. He clasped his hands together in greeting and said:

"The 'false thoughts' mentioned in Buddhism refer to those incorrect and untrue thoughts. They can be negative emotions such as greed, anger, and ignorance, or they can be unrealistic ideas that are delusional and imaginary."

"And the generation of false thoughts comes from the distracting thoughts and desires in our hearts. If this is the case, then I have false thoughts in my heart."

He wanted to stay with Gu Jinchu forever, live happily together, and raise their children.

I wish my parents good health and my family a happy life.

Not only does he have delusions, he is also very greedy.

The old monk asked again: "I wonder if the donor can get what he wants?"

Hearing his words, Jiang Nansheng couldn't help but think of Gu Jinchu who was trapped in a nightmare, hugging her and whispering his name, crying and shouting in pain.

The old monk chanted a Buddhist name and sighed softly, "Donor, the cycle of life and death has its own destiny. The fate of the previous life will continue in this life. If you are too obsessed, it will only add to your troubles. I give it to you and your wife."

When Jiang Nansheng heard the old monk's first words, he inexplicably felt irritated.

His tone became colder, and he said, "Master, be careful with your words. My wife and I were married by the emperor. It is a match made in heaven."

The old monk looked deep in his eyes, put his hands together, and said slowly: "The rise and fall of fate are all predetermined. Donors should cherish this hard-earned fate and don't repeat the same mistakes..."

I don’t know when the snow stopped, and the scene before my eyes turned into a sea of white, as if it was going to cover up all the troubles in this world.

Boom——hum——

From the temple came the sound of morning bells and evening drums, melodious and profound.

The lecture in the lecture hall ended, and it was time for vegetarian lunch in the temple.

Jiang Nansheng turned around, holding the Buddhist beads bracelet that the old monk had given him when they parted.

He followed the stone steps he had come from, stepped onto a stone bridge, and left deep footprints on the snow.

The Huguo Temple has a special meditation room for pilgrims to rest. The receptionist led everyone to the meditation room, and soon a young monk came over.

"Donors, this is freshly ground soy milk. The master said the weather is cold, so let the guests warm up first."

The little monk who was speaking was no more than ten years old. He was wearing a clean and tidy monk's robe and had a smile on his face. He looked very well-behaved and cute.

The novice monk following behind him was a few years older than him. He put down two pots of soy milk and a sugar jar, saluted with his hands clasped together, and walked out without looking at the young novice monk.

When Jiang Nansheng came over, he happened to see them walking by, so he moved aside to make way.

The younger one saw the beads in his hand and stood there saying "Huh".

"We still have to deliver vegetarian meals to the donors, so please don't waste time..."

"I just thought it looked familiar, so I took a closer look..."

As Gu Jinchu approached, he heard the sound of the two young monks walking away. He raised his hand and gently brushed away the snow on Jiang Nansheng's cloak, and smiled softly, saying:

"Mother said that you are a person who can't sit still. Every time you accompany her to the Huguo Temple, you disappear for a while when it's time to give a lecture."

Jiang Nansheng held her little hand in his palm, wiped away the water marks on her fingertips, and said softly: "The snow scene outside is so beautiful, I can't help but look at it for a while longer."

The old monk's words did not have much impact on his mood. As a human being, who can be without obsessions?

If one could see through the ignorance, resentment, greed and anger in this world, this pure land of Buddhism would probably be crowded with people.

When Mrs. Jiang saw her youngest son and daughter-in-law coming in, she asked them to come over and sit down.

"The soy milk that the young master just delivered is very fragrant. Seeing that there are young women here today, he was so considerate to give them a sugar jar as well."

Gu Jinchu sat between the old lady and Jiang Nansheng, holding the bowl in his hand and feeling the heat coming over. His nostrils were filled with the fragrant smell, and he couldn't help but think of the two little monks just now.

A novice monk is a male monk who has taken the ten precepts but not the full precepts, and is between the ages of seven and twenty.

Most of them are orphans who were rescued by monks because they were helpless. Some were frail and sickly since childhood and were sent to the temple by their parents to be raised. There are also a few who have great wisdom and wisdom since childhood and are determined to come to the temple.

In the previous life, a nobleman went to several temples around Shengjing City and searched for a child who had been lost for many years in a very grand manner, which caused a lot of commotion.

Feeling his hand being held by a big hand, Gu Jinchu tilted his head and looked at Jiang Nansheng beside him.

The old lady and the second sister-in-law sat at the same table with them. There were younger female relatives around them, so how could they be so intimate?

Seeing that she had come to her senses, Jiang Nansheng let her go and chuckled, "You have already added sugar." His voice was low and full of doting.

Gu Jinchu's face suddenly turned red, and he realized that he was still holding the spoon from the sugar jar in his hand.

The old lady and the second lady seemed not to notice her embarrassment and were talking about today's vegetarian meal.

The vegetarian food at Huguo Temple is as famous as Master Tonghuazhi. It’s not because the kitchen chef has superb cooking skills, but because there is a natural spring in the mountain behind Huguo Temple that is clear, sweet and delicious.

Pilgrims believe that the spring, which was inspired by the Buddha, can purify their body and mind, so they never miss the vegetarian meals here when they come to burn incense.

After the vegetarian meal, the snow stopped and the sun came out from behind the clouds.

The sky is vast and clear, which makes people feel particularly happy.

Huguo Temple is located at the junction of Gu'an and Daxing. It takes only half an hour to get here from Duke Dingguo's Mansion.

When they were about to leave, a young man walked out of the reception hall.

As soon as he appeared, more than twenty guards with swords appeared, knelt beside him, bowed and said something inaudible.

It was only at this moment that Gu Jinchu realized that during just the time of a vegetarian meal, the Huguo Temple seemed to have become quiet.
