Stealing the Pen: Kirin's Primordial Lotus

Zhang Qiling was patrolling in the forest as usual that day. When he saw the bushes shaking, Zhang Qiling became alert and quietly walked towards the shaking bushes.

Before Zhang Qiling could get close, a clouded leopard suddenly jumped out from the bushes. It was small and looked like a cub.

Zhang Qiling looked at the clouded leopard roaring at him, and thought about how Hua Yu originally had two lion cats in Peking, but later they didn't take them with them because they were going to Tibet.

Although he caught a bunch of rabbits in the mountains, Hua Yu's favorite were still the pair of lion cats. Now, the clouded leopard that came to his doorstep was quite suitable for Hua Yu.

But Zhang Qiling looked at the clouded leopard that was on guard against him, and was worried that he might hurt Hua Yu, so he wanted to just leave and not disturb the clouded leopard.

Unexpectedly, the clouded leopard actually ran over and grabbed Zhang Qiling's trouser leg. Zhang Qiling looked at the clouded leopard cub's wet eyes and couldn't bear to see him alone in the forest. Zhang Qiling wanted to pick up the clouded leopard and leave the forest.

Unexpectedly, the clouded leopard suddenly turned around and motioned Zhang Qiling to follow him. Zhang Qiling followed the clouded leopard cub all the way into the depths of the forest.

In a cave, Zhang Qiling saw a giant clouded leopard lying in a pool of blood, dying. The little clouded leopard ran to the big clouded leopard and licked its mouth.

The big clouded leopard looked at the human brought back by the little clouded leopard. It knew that it no longer had the ability to continue raising its child, but its child was still young and it was not yet able to survive on its own.

The big clouded leopard used its last bit of strength to carry the little clouded leopard in its mouth and walked to Zhang Qiling. It placed the little clouded leopard at Zhang Qiling's feet, and finally groomed its child's hair. Then it turned back to the cave and quietly waited for death to come.

The little clouded leopard didn't understand why his mother suddenly didn't want him anymore. Zhang Qiling picked up the little clouded leopard, held it in his arms, nodded to the big clouded leopard sitting there, and then took the little clouded leopard out of the cave.

After returning home, Hua Yu looked at Zhang Qiling who took out a ball from his arms.

"for you."

Zhang Qiling's two simple words confused Hua Yu. Hua Yu took the ball handed over by Zhang Qiling. It felt warm and the hair was still hard, as if it was a newborn cub of some animal in the mountains.

"Brother, did you steal someone else's cub?" Hua Yu stroked the trembling little cub in his hands.

"No, no, it's given to me."

Hua Yu was completely stunned by Zhang Qiling's few short words. Hua Yu said that he knew all the words his brother said and could understand them, but when they were put together, he had a hard time understanding them.

"Brother, are you saying that the mother of this cub died and entrusted the child to you before she died?" Hua Yu relied on her understanding of Zhang Qiling and struggled to understand what Zhang Qiling meant from those few short words.

Hua Yu looked at Zhang Qiling and saw him nod. He knew that his guess was probably right.

Hua Yu stroked the cub in her hand and said, "How pitiful! Welcome to join us."

Hua Yu carried the cub into the room, leaving Zhang Qiling alone in the yard. Zhang Qiling didn't feel wronged, because he knew that his little Lianhua had always been a kind-hearted person.

Sure enough, after a while Hua Yu appeared in front of him again, holding the little cub wrapped in a layer of floral cloth.

"Brother, let's give him a name."

Hua Yu sat on the stone bench, put the cub on the stone table, and brought some food to Zhang Qiling.

Zhang Qiling just sat on the stone bench and watched Hua Yu looking at the little clouded leopard on the stone table with excitement, holding the tea that Hua Yu poured for him.

"Why not call it Han Su, which means snowflakes." Hua Yu looked up at Zhang Qiling.

Zhang Qiling looked at Hua Yu, whose eyes were sparkling, and nodded.

"You will be called Han Su from now on. You have a brother and sister waiting for you in another place. Your brother's name is Guizi and your sister's name is Xueluo."

Zhang Qiling looked up at the sky, hearing the voices of Hua Yu and Han Su talking in his ears, and before his eyes was a cloudless sky, and there seemed to be a smiling face looking at him among the clouds.

Zhang Qiling suddenly felt that this kind of life was pretty good: a pot of tea, a lover, and a few furry pets. They worked from sunrise to sunset and rested from sunset to sunrise. There were no disputes or worries. Everything was so beautiful.

At night, after Zhang Qiling and Hua Yu washed up, Zhang Qiling poured out the water in the bathtub, lifted the quilt and found a cub that shouldn't have been in their bed.

Hua Yu walked in from outside and looked at Zhang Qiling who was standing in front of the bed holding a corner of the quilt. She sat over and saw that he looked a little annoyed.

"Brother, what's wrong?" Hua Yu picked up Han Su and placed him on a small cushion next to his pillow on the inside of the bed, and carefully covered Han Su with a small blanket.

"Brother, go to bed quickly. It's very cold in the mountains at night." Hua Yu patted the mattress beside him.

Zhang Qiling sat next to Hua Yu, looking somewhat aggrieved.

"Hansu is still young and his mother just passed away, so I brought him to bed. I'll put him under the bed when he's older." Hua Yu turned around and hugged Zhang Qiling back, explaining to him.
