Gerling stood in front of the east gate of the campus, the breeze caressing his face, as if welcoming his return. The sun shone through the leaves, casting mottled shadows, and the flowers and plants on both sides of the path in the college looked more vibrant under the sun.

"Come back, Gerling." He said to himself, but his heart was filled with emotion. The days of wandering outside made him re-examine this familiar land. Every blade of grass and every tree here carried countless memories for him.

"Gerlin!" A familiar voice came from the door, interrupting his thoughts. Alicia came over with a long-lost smile on her face. Her blonde hair shone in the sun, and her ocean-like blue eyes were full of concern.

"Alicia, I'm back." Gerlin replied softly, feeling an indescribable warmth in his heart.

"I knew you would come back. Everyone has missed you during this period." Alicia smiled slightly, "The situation in the academy has improved. It just needs some time to restore its former vitality."

"I heard about it, and it's really gratifying." Gerling nodded, still feeling uneasy about that turbulent time. "But there will still be a shadow over all of this, and I have to make sure this situation doesn't happen again."

Alicia's expression was slightly serious. "I understand your concerns, Gerlin. Although the situation is stable, there are still some potential dangers lurking in the dark. We must remain vigilant."

The two walked along the path to the central square of the academy. The students around them were communicating freely, and occasionally there were a few laughs. The atmosphere gradually became relaxed. Gerlin couldn't help but sigh: "Even in the turmoil, this land still exudes the breath of life."

"You are always so sentimental." Alicia chuckled and teased, "Sometimes I really envy your optimism, Gerlin."

"Optimism is my only choice, Alicia." Gerling replied, his eyes flashing with determination. "I will go back and see if there are any more places in the classroom that need repair. We can't give those restless people an opportunity to take advantage of us."

Before he finished speaking, a burst of hurried footsteps came from behind, interrupting their conversation. Gerling turned around and saw Mr. Cole running towards him, panting and looking a little anxious.

"Gerlin, Alicia, wait a minute!" Mr. Cole shouted as he ran, his face unhappy.

"What's wrong, Mr. Cole?" Gerling's heart tightened, and he had a premonition of bad news.

"There's a problem in the college's library." Mr. Cole said as he gathered his breath. "Several banned books were damaged. It seems someone tampered with them."

"Banned book?" Alicia's expression turned serious. "Could it be that someone wants to reignite the old trouble again?"

"It's not clear yet, but we need to investigate immediately." Mr. Cole nodded firmly. "This concerns the safety of the college. We can't delay any further."

"I'll go to the library right away," Gerling said without hesitation. "I have to find out the truth behind this."

Walking on the winding path, Gerling felt a sense of urgency in his heart. He knew that the calmness of the academy might only be superficial, and the undercurrent situation could erupt again at any time.

"Isabella, what happened?" Gerlin walked quickly forward and interrupted their conversation.

"Gerlin, it's great that you're finally back!" Isabella pleaded, "We found several banned books that were torn up by humans. The contents inside involve some secrets from the past. We are worried that some lawless people will want to use these secrets to pose a greater threat to the academy."

"What is the content of the banned book?" Gerling frowned, realizing the seriousness of the problem.

"It's some research on magical taboos and the secret society we once formed. I don't know what the people behind the scenes are planning." Isabella looked worried.

"Do we have any clues that could point to the saboteurs?" Alicia added.

Isabella shook her head. "Not at the moment, but we found some strange traces near the library. They might have left them."

"Then go and have a look." Gerling suggested, his determination becoming stronger. His intuition told him that there must be some bigger conspiracy behind this matter.

Several people walked down the stairs into the library, and the air was filled with the smell of dusty books. Gerlin pricked up his ears and listened carefully to the movements around him. Walking past rows of bookshelves, they found a few torn pages in the corner near the window, and complex magic symbols could be vaguely seen on the pages.

"Something must have happened here." Gerlin picked up a page and read it carefully. He couldn't help but frowned. "I've seen these symbols before. They are related to the ancient forbidden techniques."

"Ancient forbidden technique? That could be a dangerous signal." Alicia looked worried. "We must act quickly and not let them achieve their goal in any other way."

At this moment, Mr. Cole suddenly noticed a shadow flashing outside the window. His nerves immediately tensed up and he turned to Gerlin and Alicia: "I think someone is secretly watching us."

"Everyone be careful." Gerling said vigilantly, slowly approaching the window. He looked out through the window and saw a figure moving very fast on the lawn, seemingly fleeing quickly to avoid being discovered.

"We have to catch up!" Alicia shouted, with a firm determination flashing in her eyes.

Gellin and Alicia looked at each other, then immediately rushed out of the library and stepped into the land illuminated by the morning light. They sped across the campus, passing through a patch of green grass, chasing the unknown figure. The wind whistled in his ears, and Gellin's heartbeat accelerated. His intuition told him that this mysterious person might be the key to the conspiracy.

They crossed a small path and finally saw the figure on the lawn next to the teaching building. It was a man in black, his face was covered by a hood, and only his sharp eyes could be seen.

"Don't let him get away!" Gellin shouted and rushed forward as fast as he could.

The man in black heard the noise and suddenly quickened his pace, trying to avoid being chased. Gerling chased after him, his heart pounding like thunder, thinking in his mind that he must catch this man.

"Go!" Alicia followed behind, shouting firmly.

The man in black suddenly turned around, and a green magic ball flashed in his hand, and quickly threw it towards the two. Gerlin didn't have time to react, and his body instinctively dodged to the side, but Alicia blocked the magic ball. She was instantly engulfed by the green light, uttered a soft groan, and fell backwards.

"Alicia!" Gellin exclaimed, a flash of fear and anxiety in his heart. He rushed to Alicia's side, the warm sunlight shining on them, but it seemed to be in sharp contrast with the darkness in his heart.
