The most powerful wizard in the magic world
Chapter 189: Ready to Go
"How powerful do you think you are?" Thorild felt helpless about Gerlin's arrogance, and a disdainful smile appeared on his face: "In my eyes, you are just a clown who deceives himself."
Gerlin raised his head, his cunning eyes flashing with disdain. "Torield, don't be too confident. My abilities here are beyond your imagination. I have many ways to make you understand what true power is."
"Power?" Thorild sneered contemptuously, "Do you think those tricks will work in front of me? Give up as soon as possible, kneel down and admit your mistakes to me, maybe you can keep your body intact."
Gerlin slightly stopped smiling, and was obviously a little angry at Torild's contempt. "You don't understand my potential at all. I'm not as simple as you think."
"Then let me see what your potential is." Thorild said, taking a step forward. His tone was low and intimidating. "If you think you really have this opportunity, come and try. But remember, the price of failure is quite heavy."
The atmosphere in the bar froze instantly, and the people around began to focus their attention on this confrontation. Gerling clenched his glass, and a hint of hesitation flashed across his eyes, but was then swallowed up by pride. He stood up and tilted his head slightly, as if thinking about his next move.
"Kneel down?" He smiled coldly, "Why should I kneel before you? In this city, only the weak bow their heads."
"Yes, the weak will bow their heads." Thorild nodded, "But my patience is limited. There's nothing wrong with forcing you to kneel in front of me."
"Perhaps we can have a contest." Gerlin raised his eyebrows and looked at Thorild with a hint of provocation in his eyes. "If I win, you have to agree to one of my requests; and if you win, I will consider your proposal, but I will never give in easily."
"Okay, I accept." Torild raised a smile at the corner of his mouth, "But if you lose, don't forget your promise." He placed one hand on the table, and his fingertips tapped lightly on the wooden surface, making a crisp sound.
Customers gathered around and began to talk in low voices. The atmosphere was filled with the smell of gunpowder from the gambling game, and the atmosphere became increasingly tense. There was a gleam in Gerling's eyes, as if he was planning some sinister plot.
"How will our contest proceed?" Gerling coughed, trying to hide his inner fear.
"That's it for tonight." Thorild waved his hand, and his nonchalant attitude lifted the mood of the onlookers.
"But I don't want you to look down on me so easily." Gerling's profound tone inevitably made people wonder, "I will respond to your provocation with my best performance."
"Looking forward to your performance." Torild looked down at Gerlin with disdain and confidence.
Seeing that things were getting worse, the bar owner came over to try to stop this dispute. "You two, you'd better calm down and don't let things get out of control."
"Let us calm down? Impossible." Thorild responded coldly. His frankness left the boss speechless for a moment.
"You are friends after all, so don't make things awkward." The boss tried to ease the atmosphere. "Fighting is not welcome in the bar."
However, this persuasion was useless. Gerling's self-esteem had clouded his reason. "I want him to know who is the real king!" he roared.
"King? It's just a bubble." Thorild's voice was full of indifference and contempt. He gave people an absolute sense of oppression, with a slight smile on his lips, and a fighting spirit emanating from his body.
Gerlin clenched his fists in anger, the fire in his heart burning more fiercely. "Since you want to see me kneel down, then I will let you know the price of failure!"
"That sounds nice." Thorild shook his head contemptuously. "You'd better be prepared. Don't let me make you feel ashamed just once."
"I won't give in so easily." Gerlin took a deep breath and tried to appear calm. "I will show you my strength tonight!"
As night fell, the lights in the bar dimmed, as if to add to the excitement of the upcoming showdown. Someone in the crowd began to whisper, "Come on, show them!"
Grinling glanced at the expectant crowd and made a calculation. He had won countless battles, but this one seemed more difficult than before. Thorild was no easy man, but he was not willing to give up his honor easily.
"Okay, let's get started." Torild spoke first and walked towards Gerlin, "Let's not waste any more time and fight it out."
An inevitable war is inevitable, and Gerling's self-esteem has long been burned out. He knows that tonight's battle is not only for himself, but also for his future in this city.
"Come on, I'm ready." Gerling did not back down and looked ready to go.
