The most powerful wizard in the magic world
Chapter 178 Strong Impact
The chip scan result that had just been completed flashed with evil red waves, and ripples of uneasiness surged in his heart.
"What on earth is this?" he muttered to himself, his fingertips lightly running across the fluctuating frequency graph on the screen. At this moment, the door opened slightly, and Emily walked in, holding a few materials in her hands.
"Gerlin, what are you doing?" Seeing how focused he was, she approached him curiously. "That wave looks strange. Did you find anything?"
"Emily, come and see." He pulled her forward and pointed at the abnormal fluctuations on the monitor. "The radiation energy properties displayed by this plant sample may be completely different from our previous research." Gerling's eyes flashed with excitement.
Emily frowned slightly and looked at the fluctuation graph carefully, seeming a little unconvinced. "I remember you mentioned before that this plant will release a lot of energy under certain conditions. But now, the frequency of this fluctuation changes abnormally sharply, which is not normal."
"I know." Gellin sighed and rubbed his temple, his uneasiness growing. "I want to investigate and see if it has any impact on the surrounding environment. But if we're not careful, it could cause bigger problems."
"Are you saying that this plant may bring us danger?" Emily's expression became serious, her eyes fixed on the wave graph.
"Yes." Gelling nodded. "If this radiation increases further, it will affect the surrounding ecosystem and even pose a threat to our human health."
"We need to do something immediately." Emily's face turned serious. "Perhaps we should contact other members of the lab to expand the scope of our research and find a solution."
Gerling shook his head, his eyes showing hesitation. "No, we should not tell too many people about things that should be concealed. I am worried that other people will panic and cause a series of unnecessary troubles."
Emily took a deep breath, realizing that they were standing on the brink of a crisis. "So how do we deal with this? I'm afraid we can't fully assess the abnormality of this plant by the two of us alone."
"We need to collect more data and even conduct field experiments." Gerling's eyes became more determined. "We must find the cause of the radiation anomaly before we can determine how dangerous it is."
"On-site experiment?" Emily's voice was slightly surprised. "Is it risky to do this? We don't know if this radiation will cause harm to us."
"But if we don't investigate, we won't get answers," Gerling whispered. "I've prepared protective gear that may reduce the risk."
There was a pause as Emily considered his idea. "Okay, I'll go with you. However, we have to make sure all the protective measures are in place to minimize any danger."
Gerlin looked at her gratefully, feeling a surge of warmth in his heart. "Thank you, Emily. I think you will be the most suitable partner for me."
"Don't forget, we are a team." She smiled and nodded firmly, "Get the information ready, we'll set off now."
The two quickly packed their equipment. Gerling picked up his notebook, gloves and radiation protection equipment, while Emily downloaded the relevant sampling data on the computer. After everything was ready, they drove to the sample collection site.
The scenery outside the car window quickly receded. As he drove, Gerling thought about the characteristics of the sample plant. "Can the abnormal radiation of this plant attract other species around it? Or is it releasing some kind of information?"
Emily looked out the window, her thoughts returning to the data analysis in the laboratory. "If its radiation fluctuation frequency is high, it may be a warning signal. To some extent, it can be regarded as the plant's response to environmental changes."
"That raises the question," Gelling said. "Did we change the environment to make the plant behave differently, or does it have this ability inherent in it?"
"Today's on-site investigation may give us the answer." Emily turned her head with a determined light in her eyes.
Arriving at their destination, they got out of the car and saw a different kind of vegetation in front of them. The plants that Gerling saw on the sample were flickering in the sun in a strange way. The leaves of this plant emitted a faint blue light.
"That's really weird." Emily stared at the plant in front of her, feeling nervous and excited. "We've never seen a plant react like this before."
Gerling took out the instrument and began to measure the radiation data around the plants. "We'd better keep our distance and ensure safety first." He carefully adjusted the equipment with a focused expression.
"I'm going to collect some samples." Emily was not to be outdone, so she picked up the sampler and approached the plants. "But be careful. Getting too close can be risky."
"Wait a minute, Emily!" Gelling suddenly called her, his eyes alert, "Don't get too close, the radiation data won't wait for you."
She turned around and looked at Gerling with some doubt. "I know, but we can't miss this opportunity. The value of this sample may be beyond our imagination."
"If this thing is as dangerous as expected, you will face greater risks next." Anxiety appeared in Gellin's eyes, "Quickly retreat, let's collect the data first and then evaluate it."
Emily shook her head slightly, but there was a hint of uneasiness in her eyes. "The results of this study are of great importance, you know. We can't back down because of fear."
At this moment, the light of the plant became brighter, and several waves penetrated the air and rushed towards Emily. She instantly felt a strange energy surge, and cold sweat broke out in her heart.
"Run!" Gellin yelled, quickly pulling Emily and retreating. They almost rolled back at the same time, avoiding the energy wave that was coming towards them.
"What was it?" Emily gasped, her heart pounding. "I felt a strong impact."
“I think the plants might be fighting back.” Gelling tightened his grip on the equipment and tried to take more measurements. “We have to get out of here as soon as possible and analyze the data.”
