Even though he held the sharp blade in his hand, he did not feel happy at all. In this quiet forest, he felt like a trapped prey, and the trees around him seemed to be whispering, laughing at his hesitation and anxiety.

He turned and walked towards the camp. The dim light and shadows in the forest cast a shadow on his face, making his expression look even more tangled. At this moment, a figure flashed out from behind the tree. It was Alyssa. She was slightly startled, and then quickly caught up with Gerlin.

"Gerlin, wait a minute!" Alyssa panted, her cheeks slightly red from running, and a few beads of sweat on her forehead sparkled in the sun. Her voice was anxious, "Are you going to give up? This is not what you should do!"

Gerlin stopped walking, his heart was filled with emotion. He turned around and looked at Alyssa. "I'm not giving up. I'm just considering my options. I can't be as impatient as before. We've lost too much."

"But we can't let those sacrifices go in vain," Alyssa's voice rose in pitch, with a hint of determination, "You know their hopes are pinned on us. If you just give up like this, what's the point of their death?"

"Alyssa," Gellin sighed slightly, his confusion becoming more obvious, "Are you willing to take the risk again? We have experienced too many failures, and almost every action has paid a heavy price. I can't bear this torture anymore."

Alyssa looked at Gerlin and was silent for a moment, with a hint of tenderness in her eyes. She asked softly, "Do you remember the first time we came together? The flames, the frightened faces, and your decision to ask me not to give up?"

"Of course I remember. It was one of the most important choices we made." Gerling's voice dropped to a low note, as if overwhelmed by the memories.

"Then how can we retreat at this moment?" Alyssa leaned forward slightly, her eyes gleaming. "No matter how difficult the road ahead is, we still have the responsibility to accomplish it all."

Her strength and courage were like a fresh breeze, gently blowing away the haze in Gerling's heart. He thought of the friends he had lost, their laughter, their expectations, as if they were echoing in his ears.

"Do you really think we still have a chance?" Gerling finally softened his tone, with a glimmer of hope in his eyes.

“I believe that as long as we work together, we can find a way to change the situation.” Alyssa looked back at him firmly, like a ray of light illuminating the dark corners of his heart.

At that moment, a little courage ignited in Gellin's heart. He took a deep breath and nodded, "Okay, let's reorganize. Our goal cannot stop here!"

Alyssa smiled and clenched her fists. “We can gather the others, let them know our plan, and tell them that we will not give up!”

"Where can we find people? They are all scattered now," Gellin frowned and thought, "and the previous operations have almost made everyone discouraged."

“We can go to the old base. That’s the place that can gather people’s hearts the most.” Alyssa suggested, with a spark of hope in her eyes.

"I understand," Gellin nodded. "Then go to the base and try to convince them to join our plan."

As the two walked towards the base, the atmosphere in the forest gradually changed, as if even the surrounding trees were excited about their decision. The sun still shone through the leaves, and with their footsteps, the journey began again.

After walking for a while, Gerling and Alyssa finally arrived at the old base. The base was surrounded by jungle, and everything seemed the same as before, but Gerling's mood was different. They stood on the aging wooden plank road, and the surroundings were suffocatingly quiet.

“Do you remember this place?” Alyssa stroked the wooden pillar next to her and said with a smile, “This place carries too many memories for us.”

"Of course, I also remember the encouragement you gave me at that time." Gerlin whispered, with a surge of warmth in his heart, "It is because of you that I can persist until now."

“Then let us rekindle our dreams.” Alyssa looked at him firmly. “We must let those who have been lost know that they have not been forgotten.”

The two walked into the base, and the emptiness and silence around them made them feel a little strange. Gellin looked around and found that there were still traces of the battle in the past. Although it had been covered by time, it still showed a tenacious strength.

"Wake up! We are back!" Alyssa broke the silence and shouted. Her voice echoed in the empty base, like a key, opening the dormant memories.

Soon, several figures walked out from the corner. They were the survivors of the base, and they looked surprised. Alvin walked forward, with a gleam of suspicion in his eyes: "Alyssa? Gerling? Why are you back?"

"We've decided to start over." Gerling spoke, with a strong emotion in his heart, "We can't just give up like this, we have to keep fighting!"

"Continue fighting? But we've already lost too much, as you can see, no one is willing to take the risk again." Alvin had a complicated expression, as if he was having a fierce struggle in his heart.

"We understand, but we can't let what has passed be meaningless!" Alyssa stepped forward with a firm look in her eyes, "If we unite, we have a chance of success!"

"Do you still remember the oath we made? We are each other's comrades-in-arms, and we must fight to the end no matter what!" Gerlin echoed, with unquestionable power in his voice.

The survivors in the base lowered their heads and fell into deep thought. Finally, Alvin sighed and shook his head, "I know how you feel, but I don't want to see any more loss."

“For the sake of our friends who have sacrificed their lives, we must make a decision now. If we remain here and wait, what we will lose in the end is not only the battle, but even our beliefs,” Alyssa said, her voice full of determination.

After a period of silence, the other people in the base gradually began to talk and discuss the words of Alyssa and Gerlin in a low voice. Gradually, hope seemed to be ignited in their hearts, and they all raised their heads, with long-lost fighting spirit flashing in their eyes.
