The most powerful wizard in the magic world
Chapter 132 The Coming Incident
He lowered his head and looked at the floor, as if thinking about something. "I just feel that some things are not as simple as they seem."
"Are you referring to the Fallen Star Pendant?" Maria looked him straight in the eyes, as if trying to read his mind.
Gerlin was slightly shocked and quickly waved his hands: "No, it's my personal idea. It's just an ornament." Although he said this, he felt a little uneasy in his heart.
"You know, Gerlin," Maria took a deep breath, her eyes serious and firm, "I hope you can be honest. We are partners, aren't we? You always bear the pressure alone, and I am really worried about you."
"I am your partner and also your protector." His heart warmed up and he raised his head, their eyes met. "I can't let you fall into danger. So, there are some things I can't say."
She sighed, as if she understood what he meant: "I understand your concerns, but you can't bear everything alone forever. We have come through this together, haven't we?"
"Yes, we have come this far together." He felt the expectation in Maria's eyes, and his heart moved slightly. "But there are too many unknowns on this road, and I don't want you to be involved."
"If it is unknown, so what?" Maria said faintly, "Gerlin, you remind me of the starry sky. Although it is boundless, each star has its own light. I hope to shine with you."
He was speechless for a moment and wanted to respond, but he felt the Fallen Star Pendant on his neck causing a dull pain. At this moment, a deep voice came from a distance, breaking their silence.
"Maria, Gerlin! Come here quickly!" Iris, wearing the obsidian ornament, was running along the path, looking panicked, as if she had encountered something urgent.
The two looked at each other and quickly ran towards Iris. "What happened?" Gerlin asked, with a bad feeling in his heart.
"It's about the Fallen Star!" Iris' voice was heavy, the necessary connection had aroused his vigilance. "Some people have begun to track the origin of this ornament, and you are their target."
This sentence was like a thunderclap. Gerlin's heart suddenly shook, and then he calmed down: "Why are they interested in this thing?"
"This is not just an ornament. It is rumored that it contains the power to destroy the world." Iris sighed, with tension in her eyes. "I heard that recently someone has been looking for magical relics related to it, trying to revive the ancient forbidden power."
"We must act immediately." Maria clenched her fists, a resolute look on her face. "We can't let them succeed!"
"You have to be careful, Maria." Gerling nodded, but he felt uneasy. "We will face great danger this time."
"That's why I can't back down." She said firmly, with courage shining in her eyes. "You also know that we have a powerful force around us, and I will never let you bear that responsibility alone."
He felt the steaming atmosphere. The three of them immediately began to walk deeper into the forest. The shadows of the trees dancing under the night sky seemed to hint at an uneasy future. The sound of the wind on both sides of the path was low, as if responding to the uneasiness in the hearts of the few people.
"How should we deal with them?" Iris asked, looking back from time to time to be alert to her surroundings.
"We must find the relic related to the Fallen Star. If we can control its power, we can reverse this pursuit." Maria offered, her eyes determined.
After hearing this, Gerlin frowned slightly: "But that means we will face greater danger. If we can't subdue it..."
Maria didn't let him continue, the passion in her eyes became more obvious: "We have no way out! The only thing we can do now is to break through the obstacles and find the truth!"
Iris nodded, suppressed the doubts in her heart, and quickened her pace: "Then let's move, we can't stop here!"
They crossed the hills and followed the stream into the depths of the expedition. A mysterious atmosphere enveloped them, and every step seemed to be filled with unknown shocks. As time passed, the sense of urgency became more and more obvious, especially the weight on Gellin's neck gradually became a shadow in his heart.
"Listen." In the dense darkness, Iris suddenly stopped and frowned. "There are whispers coming from the front, it seems that someone is discussing something."
Maria immediately became alert and lowered her voice: "Let's go and take a look."
The three of them quietly moved forward and hid in a grove of trees. They could hear low voices talking. Through the dark shadows of the trees, they finally saw several unknown figures surrounding a disk that was flashing with strange light.
“This is the legendary relic!” One of the men in a black cloak had a fanatical look on his face. He tightly grasped the circle of light with both hands and laughed miserably like a madman.
"As long as I control this, the power of the Fallen Star Pendant will be in my hands!" Another person seemed full of greed, "No one can stop me then!"
Gerlin vaguely understood what was going on. He became alert in his heart and wanted to cut ties with this group of people immediately. He took a deep breath and prepared to save them from danger.
"We must stop them!" Maria's quest once again inspired him, and the courage in her eyes shone like stars.
"But how can we do it?" Iris asked in a low voice, obviously not holding much hope in her heart.
Gerlin pondered for a moment and came up with an idea: "We can take advantage of their unpreparedness and find an opportunity to disrupt their plans and steal the relic!"
"That's a good idea." Maria encouraged herself in her heart, "I believe that if we work together, we will succeed!"
So they quietly made a plan, waiting for the coming conflict. As time passed, the moonlight penetrated the leaves, casting mottled light and shadows, as if foreshadowing the upcoming changes.
"Are you ready?" Gerlin asked in a low voice, his heart pounding with nervousness.
"Anytime!" Maria's eyes were firm and her face was full of courage.
"Then, let's take action!" His heart full of anticipation, he rushed towards that direction quickly.
"Give me those antiques!" The man in the black cloak roared in a low voice, as if accusing the others of not taking action. Gerlin took the opportunity to quickly rush towards the man and attacked him unexpectedly. With several consecutive moves, he shook him away and pulled the light disc over.
Unexpectedly, the others reacted quickly and immediately launched an offensive to surround them. But at the most critical moment, Iris appeared in time and knocked several opponents to the ground, while Maria rushed forward at lightning speed.
