Gellin walked to the window, pushed open the curtains, and the scene outside instantly came into view. The flowers and trees in the garden were still full of vitality, and the busy figures of the servants were particularly clear in the sun. Even though some time had passed, this place seemed to have never changed, as if it was waiting for him to come back.

"I'm back, it's great." Gerlin murmured, with a slight smile on his face. This room carries the memories of the past, and every item is closely connected to him. He turned around and looked at the table full of books and spell materials, feeling relieved.

He was accompanied by his loyal assistant Laura, who had been out on business and was standing at the door, knocking slightly, interrupting Garlin's thoughts.

"Respected Master Gerling, you are back just in time." She walked in with a smile, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "I have already dealt with the letters you sent a few days ago. Everything is going well in the city."

"Laura, thank you for your hard work." Gerling nodded and motioned for her to sit down. "It's time to review the recent progress carefully."

Laura sat down on the chair opposite and looked at Gerlin seriously. "Some unusual phenomena have occurred in the city recently. It seems that dark forces are stirring."

"Dark forces?" Gerling frowned slightly. He felt that the situation was not good. "What specific situation do you know?"

"During my patrols over the past few days, I discovered that goods from several shops were stolen one after another. The thefts were so sophisticated that even the guards failed to find any traces." Laura recalled, "Also, rumors about black shadows are circulating in the city. It seems that a mysterious group is operating in secret."

"Maybe we should go there and investigate." Gerling said, a little courage rising in his heart, "Many secrets are always hidden in places we least expect."

"That's exactly what I was thinking." Laura nodded in agreement, with anticipation glittering in her eyes. "We can set out when night falls and take the opportunity to investigate."

"Very good." Gerlin said with satisfaction. He clearly remembered that Laura had always been his most capable assistant. She had clear ideas and decisive actions, and was exactly the kind of person he needed. "But before that, I need to reorganize the spell materials and enhance our abilities."

Gerlin began to flip through the books, looking for spells suitable for this task. Fire, invisibility, and detection spells were all extremely important, and he especially wanted to try out several new defensive spells he had learned.

"The spell is complete." Gerlin turned around with a look of satisfaction on his face. "Next, we can set off."

Laura snapped her fingers, and immediately two servants came in with equipment in their hands, ready to make all preparations before night fell.

"Very well, then let us embark on this adventure at sunset," Gerling said firmly, revealing his thorough determination.
