Hogwarts's Master of Mind

Chapter 311 News about Dumbledore and Credence

On the streets of England, Newt held Aiden's hand and went shopping happily.

Behind them, a Ministry of Magic agent wearing a hat was following them closely.

The agent followed closely all the way...and then was trapped in the fog, looking around.

People around were curious about why this gentlemanly man kept making running movements in the phone booth.

Aiden and Newt leaned against the wall, watching the agent trying to find the right direction.

"Your abilities seem to have become even more terrifying!" Newt exclaimed.

"Of course not." Aiden raised his head and licked the ice cream that Newt bought him.

Just as the two were chatting, a glove appeared in front of them and waved to them.

Newt: “….”

"Dumbledore is here to see us, let's go." Aiden grabbed Newt's hand and shook it directly.

There was a flash of space, and the two came to an empty roof.

"Dumbledore, can't you find a less conspicuous place?" Newt looked at Dumbledore helplessly.

"I really enjoy the scenery here." Dumbledore turned around, took out his wand and cast a mist spell.

The entire city of London was instantly surrounded by smoke.

The smoke carried particles of fossil fuels, which were extremely clear to Aiden's eyes.

Then, his ice cream was—dirty.

Looking at Dumbledore with an accusing look, the guy actually took out his wand and gave Aiden a clean up.

"It's really a ghost!" Aiden complained, and flames flashed in his hands, burning the ice cream.

Dumbledore Apparated with the three of them and strolled in a small square.

"They always insisted that you sent me to New York." Newt spoke first.

"And you tell them it wasn't me?" Dumbledore smiled carefreely.

“Yes, although this is indeed New York where you sent me,” Newt replied.

"Tell me where the traded Thunderbird is, Dumbledore. You know I will bring it home, and only by Muggle means."

Newt's words were hurried and seemed to be accusing.

"My family has always had a special connection with magical birds. There is a legend in my family..."

Dumbledore was about to launch into a long speech, but Aiden interrupted him.

"Whenever someone in the Dumbledore family needs help, the phoenix will appear, and your great-great-grandfather had a phoenix, which later flew away."

Aiden helped Dumbledore finish what he wanted to say, "I've heard this story many times."

"I'll tell you when I have a chance." Dumbledore winked at Aiden.

"So, this story doesn't convince me that you know the reason for Thunderbird."

Newt suspected that Dumbledore had sent people to capture the Thunderbird on purpose.

But if Dumbledore had extra manpower, why would he send himself to New York?

"I..." Dumbledore was about to speak, but he turned around suddenly and saw a figure following them.

"Let's go." He pulled Aiden and Newt up and tried to Apparate, but was disturbed by Aiden's magic.

"???" Dumbledore cast a puzzled look at Aiden.

"No, he can't see us," Aiden explained.

Sure enough, the agent walked over here stupidly and walked back stupidly.

The three of them sat on the stone bench nearby and watched him pace back and forth.

"If he likes tracking, let him walk more. It's good for his health." Aiden winked at them.

Dumbledore ignored Aiden's antics and continued chatting with Newt.

"Credence is in Paris, Newt, trying to find his real family."

"I understand." Newt nodded.

"Have you heard any rumors about his true identity?" asked Dumbledore.

“No.” Newt shook his head.

"I have heard of it." Aiden gave another answer.

"How come, oh, by the way, you are from the future, you must have heard of this information." Newt was curious at first, then relieved.

"Not entirely. The future does not record all aspects of the past. For example, regarding Grindelwald's affairs, we only know... hm?"

Dumbledore first cast a spell quietly, but when he saw that it had no effect, he simply covered Aiden's mouth.

Aiden looked at Newt and gave him a helpless look.

"He is special, but Newt, you'd better filter the information you get from Aiden."

Dumbledore warned, then let Aiden go.

Knowing that saying something he shouldn't might hurt Newt, Aiden kept his mouth shut.

"Pure-blood wizards believe that he may be the only descendant of an important Farran family, a lost baby."

Dumbledore looked at Newt seriously and told him his information.

"Isn't he Leta's brother?" Newt remembered something.

"Hush." Dumbledore made a silencing gesture. "I know, so we can only discuss this in private."

"I don't think you're spreading it secretly," Aiden complained, and was gently tapped on the head by Dumbledore.

"I am not sure of his lineage, but I know that the Obscurus was born from a lack of love, a twin of darkness, and nothing else.

But if Credence had a brother or sister who could tolerate the Obscurus, he might still be saved." Dumbledore pursed his lips and looked at Newt.

"Impossible." Aiden said, extinguishing all hope.

"Even if the brother and sister really replace the identity of the Silent One, it means that his brother and sister become the new Silent One. Do you plan to use the new to repay the old?" Aiden raised his eyebrows.

Dumbledore shrugged. "Perhaps we can find an example where two people have been able to accommodate an Obscurial at the same time and both have survived."

Dumbledore directly used two wizards as experimental subjects right away, which was really... crazy.

“I didn’t expect you to be so radical when you were young.” Aiden frowned.

"You have calmed down a lot." Dumbledore twirled the brim of his hat and then looked at Newt.

"In short, Credence is extremely dangerous to him and others in Paris. I hope you can find him." Dumbledore took out a card and handed it to Newt.

"This is where an old friend of mine lives. It is reinforced with layers of magic and is very safe. Perhaps it can be used as a safe house for your activities in Paris."

Dumbledore said, and stood up to leave.

"Wait!" Newt hurriedly chased after him.

The two of them flashed through space, but left Aiden behind.

"They've banned me from international travel now, and if I leave England again they'll arrest me, put me in Azkaban, and throw the key away."

Newt hurriedly grabbed Dumbledore.

"Do you know why I admire you?" Dumbledore suddenly acted mysterious.

"Because among the people I know, you are one of the few who don't pursue power and fame. You are the type who gets hung up on the right and wrong of things themselves."

Dumbledore rocked back and forth on his feet.

"I'm very happy that you praise me like this, but I promised Theseus..." Newt was interrupted by Dumbledore as soon as he opened his mouth.

"Well, if you don't want to." Dumbledore took Newt's card and then flashed away.

"E on, Dumbledore you bastard."

Dumbledore left, leaving Newt standing there in frustration.

However, a glove suddenly appeared in front of him and held up the card.

Newt watched as Gloves stuffed the card into his coat pocket.
