"Fitters above level eight" need to master advanced skills and operating methods, have rich technical experience and profound theoretical knowledge, be able to perform high-level marking, chiseling, sawing, drilling, assembly and other operations, and be able to carry out technological innovation.

This is generally called Grade 8A-plus, and is considered a high-level special talent. However, after the state selected a group of high-level workers in the past few years, the number of workers at this level has increased, and the selection qualifications have been lowered a lot.
