Rebirth of the Ming Dynasty: Sixth Generation of Glory, I don't want it
Chapter 366 The Life of Zhang Zhenren
"Yes, Your Highness."
The sound of footsteps rang out and then faded away after Zhang Xin finished her explanation.
The afternoon sun is just right and the temperature in early autumn is pleasant.
Even though she had just drunk tea, Zhang Xin felt a little sleepy.
I leaned back in the recliner again, closed my eyes and dozed off.
Wanxiu didn't say anything else, but just stood by Zhang Xin silently.
Zhang Xin woke up after just a short nap.
The tea took effect and my mind became clear for a moment.
I could hear Wanxiu's even breathing next to my ear, and I guessed that he was squinting.
Zhang Xin didn't move. She just relaxed and thought over what Wei Guan had said in the morning.
Wei Guan came not only to report on Li Jinglong's affairs, his main purpose was to give suggestions to Zhang Xin.
She has been in charge of the Dongchang's Tiqi for many years, and the tasks she has asked the Tiqi to do are basically all serious matters.
The two words "Tiqi" are no longer as famous as they were in the previous life, but they are indeed useful.
She also did not mistreat those who had lived in disgrace all their lives.
When people get along for a long time, they develop feelings for each other.
Ever since she became blind, Wei Guan and the Tiqi troops under his command have been spontaneously searching for good doctors everywhere.
Every month, good doctors from all over the country were sent to Beijing to treat Zhang Xin.
Zhu Gaochi wanted to take Zhang Xin to Wudang to visit Master Zhang, so Zhang Xin immediately asked Wei Guan to look into the life of Master Zhang in detail.
Zhang Xin had also heard of this Master Zhang who was highly respected by the late emperor in his previous life.
During the Xuande Dynasty, Zhanji conferred on him the title of "True Man of Tongwei Xianhua".
But from beginning to end, except for the King of Shu who said he had seen him, no one in the royal family had ever seen him, and he never responded to the call. Zhang Xin always felt that it was a question whether this real person even existed.
Zhang Xin firmly believes in the existence of gods and ghosts.
Her own experience fully confirms this.
But Zhang Xin is skeptical about any supernatural or magical skills.
She didn't have it anyway.
Even if I am reborn, I will still be a mortal.
If she didn't check, she would always think that the other party was a liar.
If these people from the Tiqi want to dig up a person's background, they can even find out what kind of embroidered bellyband he wore as a child.
Sure enough, this time when investigating Master Zhang, many strange things were discovered.
It is said that Zhang Sanfeng's real name was Zhang Tong, with the courtesy name Junshi, and he had many aliases. He was born in Yizhou, Liaoyang, in the seventh year of Chunyou in the Southern Song Dynasty.
According to this calculation, Zhang Sanfeng should be close to 150 years old at this moment.
This is the first unreasonable point.
Anyway, it’s impossible for a normal person to live to this age.
But since Master Zhang is a cultivator, it makes sense that he is different from ordinary people, so we can ignore it for now.
But soon there was a second unreasonable point.
It is said among the people that Zhang Sanfeng's ancestor was from Longhu Mountain in Jiangxi Province and was a descendant of Zhang Tianshi, so practicing Taoism was a family tradition.
But it is also said that Zhang Sanfeng was born into a scholarly family and was smart since childhood. He was familiar with the Four Books and Five Classics at the age of three, and could recite hundreds of Tang poems by heart at the age of four. At the age of five, he suddenly suffered from eye disease. Because he heard that there was a Taoist priest named Zhang Yun'an in the Biluo Palace who could treat eye diseases, Zhang Sanfeng was sent to the Biluo Palace for treatment. Zhang Yun'an saw that Zhang Sanfeng was smart and said that learning Taoism would help him recover, so Zhang Sanfeng recognized Zhang Yun'an as his teacher and began to learn Taoism. Half a year later, Zhang Sanfeng's eye disease was cured, but he still stayed in the Biluo Palace to continue studying Taoist thoughts until seven years later, when his mother took him home.
This second legend actually matches what the King of Shu said, that Zhang Sanfeng had suffered from eye disease.
Up to this point, it can be considered Zhang Sanfeng's early years experience.
Next was the end of the Southern Song Dynasty. Zhang Sanfeng entered the official career and was appointed as the magistrate of Zhongshan Boling County by Kublai Khan, the founder of the Yuan Dynasty. However, after the death of his parents, he decided to sever worldly ties and practice Taoism.
After entering the Taoism and practicing, Zhang Sanfeng met Chen Tuan, the Fire Dragon Immortal, and was accepted as a disciple. After practicing hard with Chen Tuan for ten years, he followed his master's orders to practice hard in Wudang Mountain.
This ascetic practice cannot actually be called ascetic practice, it is more like founding a sect.
Because Zhang Sanfeng recruited many disciples to teach in Wudang Mountain, and what he taught were the Wudang martial arts that he created and the principles and morals of the Fire Dragon Zhenren school.
The Taoists at that time asked Zhang Sanfeng questions about immortal arts, but Zhang Sanfeng did not answer.
But if someone asked him about scriptures or something like that, Zhang Sanfeng would speak freely and without stopping.
Several of Zhang Sanfeng's disciples are quite famous in the secular world.
Up to this point, everything is normal. It is just the life of a person studying Taoism, nothing special.
But in the blink of an eye, the centenarian Zhang Sanfeng performed a trick of coming back to life.
It is said that at the end of the Yuan Dynasty, Zhang Sanfeng suddenly died while traveling in Jintai Temple in Baoji. Yang Fushan, a local, prepared a coffin for his burial. When the burial was about to begin, Yang Fushan heard a sound coming from the coffin. When he opened the coffin to check, Zhang Sanfeng was resurrected. He then traveled to Sichuan and returned to Wudang Mountain.
After the previous emperor established the dynasty, there were many legends about Zhang Sanfeng.
Most of them were gossips being passed around about who had happened to meet Master Zhang in a certain place.
The idea that there was an immortal who was over a hundred years old and could only be seen by those who were destined to see him successfully aroused the interest of the late emperor.
Therefore, from the 17th year of Hongwu to the 24th year of Hongwu, the late emperor summoned Zhang Sanfeng to the court several times.
Zhang Sanfeng refused all the offers and continued to travel around the mountains and rivers.
It was not until the 25th year of Hongwu that the people of Wudang spread the news that Zhang Sanfeng had built a thatched pavilion on Fuxiu Mountain, waiting for the emperor's order to ascend to heaven.
But now, in the twelfth year of Yongle, the letter from the King of Shu clearly stated: People in Wudang Mountain said that Master Zhang was traveling outside.
So, is Zhang Sanfeng still alive?
During the time when the Tiqi people were secretly visiting Wudang, people at the foot of the mountain said that Master Zhang had passed away, while people on the mountain kept silent.
There are many names of Zhang Sanfeng that are circulated among the people, such as Sanfeng, Xuanyi, Junshi, Junbao, Jubao, Kunyang, etc. He also has the nickname "Zhang Sloppy" because of his unkempt appearance.
Wei Guan felt that someone who changed his name many times must have something to hide.
I'm afraid that Zhang Sanfeng is just a name put forward by Wudang Mountain to gain fame and reputation.
Anyone can be Zhang Sanfeng when necessary.
When it is not necessary, Zhang Sanfeng is either traveling or not in the human world.
Wei Guan investigated Zhang Sanfeng and also took the opportunity to investigate Zhang Sanfeng's master, True Man Huolong.
The lineage of True Man Huolong is said to be called the Hidden Immortal Sect.
The school was founded by Laozi who passed it on to Guanlingyinzi, who passed it on to Ma Yi Taoist, who passed it on to Chen Xiyi, who passed it on to Huolong Zhenren, and finally Huolong Zhenren passed it on to Zhang Sanfeng.
Anyway, there is no way to find out the truth about the lives of these people; it is all vague and confusing.
Wei Guan felt more and more that Master Zhang was just a gimmick to lure people to the mountain to learn Taoism.
In other words, Wei Guan did not agree with Zhang Xin leaving Beijing.
Wei Guan bluntly said that if they went to Wudang, there was a high probability that they would return empty-handed.
It would be better to stay in the capital, take good care of your health, and avoid the fatigue of traveling.
What's more, after the Crown Prince and the Crown Princess left the capital, it was hard to say whether there would be any turmoil in the future, after all, Zhu Di was already old.
