Hogwarts Lion Girl

Chapter 250 Observatory

In the dim corridor, Harry's heart was pounding and cold sweat was running down his temples.

He pressed himself tightly against the wall, trying to control his breathing so as not to let even the slightest sound leak out.

The Death Eaters' heavy footsteps and arrogant laughter echoed in the empty castle, like death-threatening drumbeats, beating at Harry's nerves again and again.

He gripped his wand tightly, his palms were sweaty.

He knew he had to find someone to help him, Professor McGonagall, Professor Snape, anyone would do it... But if he left, what would these crazy guys do to the innocent students? Would they start a massacre here?

Harry didn't dare to imagine. So he could only follow closely, praying that he could find a chance to prevent this disaster.

……

The observatory rises high into the clouds, like a lonely finger pointing into the dark night sky.

Harry watched the Death Eaters file in, their dark figures disappearing down the spiral staircase.

He took a deep breath, crouched down, and quickly hid in the shadow under the stairs.

The darkness enveloped him completely, as if he had merged with the cold stone wall.

The sound of the heartbeat was particularly clear in the silence. Harry held his breath, slowly raised his head, and looked up through the gap in the stair railing.

At the top of the observatory, Professor Dumbledore's figure looked particularly thin in the moonlight.

He had his back to the stairs and seemed unaware of the approaching danger.

There was a sound of footsteps approaching, and Draco's figure appeared in Harry's sight.

His face was pale, but his eyes were gleaming with madness.

He approached Dumbledore step by step, raised his wand and muttered something.

There was a flash of red light, and Dumbledore staggered. His wand slipped from his hand and fell to the ground with a crisp sound.

"I...I'm going to kill you!" Malfoy's voice was trembling, but full of determination.

……

In the stairwell, Harry held his breath, his heart pounding like a drum.

The dust danced in the moonlight, floating like ghosts.

There was a suppressed conversation coming from upstairs, and every word pierced Harry's eardrums like a sharp needle.

He pressed himself against the cold stone wall, trying to hide himself in the shadows.

Through the gaps in the stair railings he could vaguely see what was happening in the observatory.

Professor Dumbledore's face was full of helplessness and sadness, but he still maintained his usual dignity.

Malfoy's face was pale, his lips were trembling, and he pointed his wand at Dumbledore, but he didn't dare to take action.

His eyes flickered and his heart was full of struggle.

Beads of sweat rolled down his forehead, sparkling in the moonlight.

"Draco," Dumbledore said in a low voice, with a hint of pleading in his tone, "I know you don't really want to do this. Voldemort..."

"Shut up!" Bellatrix Lestrange's sharp voice interrupted Dumbledore.

She walked up behind Malfoy, grabbed his shoulders, and said viciously, "Don't listen to his nonsense! Kill him! Kill him now!"

The other Death Eaters also began to clamor, like bloodthirsty beasts, eager to see blood and death.

Harry felt a chill run up from the soles of his feet to the top of his head. He knew he had to do something, but he didn't know what to do.

The night wind was howling, bringing with it thick dark clouds that obscured most of the moon, making the top of the Hogwarts Castle Observatory look even more eerie.

Suddenly, a cold hand rested on Harry's shoulder.

Harry shuddered and hunched up like a frightened cat, his wand instantly sliding into his hand and pointing at the newcomer.

In the dim light, he saw the person clearly - it was Professor Snape. His pale and mean face looked even more gloomy in the darkness, standing there like a sculpture.

"Potter," Snape's voice was low and hoarse, as harsh as sandpaper, "be quiet." There was a barely perceptible tension in his tone.

Harry was alert and did not put down his wand. He just nodded slightly, his eyes still fixed on the top of the tower.

Snape ignored him and walked quickly and silently up the spiral staircase, his black robes billowing behind him like the wings of an owl.

……

Snape pushed the hesitant Malfoy aside and looked at Dumbledore.

Dumbledore stood on the edge of the observatory, his figure was tall and thin, as if he would be blown away by the wind at any time.

His deep blue eyes flashed with a complex light. He looked at Snape, his lips moved slightly, and he silently said a word: "Please."

The tip of Snape's wand trembled as if under great pressure.

He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, as if he wanted to inhale the last breath of air in the world into his lungs.

When he opened his eyes again, they were dead, like a dried-up well.

"Avada Kedavra!"

There was a flash of green light, and the spell shot towards Dumbledore like a venomous snake.

There was no screaming, no struggling. The old man seemed to have all his strength drained away. He fell straight backwards, fell from the high observatory, and disappeared into the night.

Snape stood stiffly in place, his wand hanging limply, as if he had aged ten years in an instant.

The wind was still howling, but now it sounded like the wails of the dead.

……

As night fell, thick dark clouds crouched in the sky like a giant beast, making it hard to breathe.

In the observatory above Hogwarts Castle, the figures of a group of Death Eaters in black robes looked particularly eerie in the night.

They waved their wands, and a green, skull-shaped ghost burst out from the tip of the wand, twisting and expanding in the air, and finally turning into a huge, creepy dark mark, like the hideous smile of the god of death, firmly imprinted on the night sky.

Inside the castle, chaotic shouting and sounds of smashing and destroying things were heard one after another.

The Death Eaters destroyed everything along the way with great force. Statues along the way were smashed, ancient tapestries were torn, and the sharp sound of broken glass broke the silence of the night.

Finally, they arrived at Hagrid's hut.

Scarlet flames spurted out from the tip of the wand, instantly engulfing the simple yet warm cabin.

The dry wood crackled in the fire, thick smoke billowed, and the flames illuminated the hideous faces of the Death Eaters, like evil spirits from hell.

Harry rushed out of the castle, his eyes filled with anger and sadness.

He saw Snape's back and chased after him desperately.

"Why did you betray Dumbledore!" Harry's voice was hoarse and trembling uncontrollably.

Snape paused, but did not turn back or answer.

Bella, who was standing aside, sneered sharply, waved her wand, and a red light hit Harry, knocking him heavily to the ground.

"Don't touch him!" Snape's voice was cold and low. He turned around suddenly and stood in front of Harry.

"His life belongs to the Dark Lord."

Bella snorted disdainfully and retracted her wand.

"Well, let him live a little longer."

She glanced coldly at Harry who was struggling to get up from the ground, then turned and disappeared into the night with the other Death Eaters.
