Hogwarts Lion Girl
Chapter 139: Nick Flamel's Invitation
The afterglow of the setting sun spread over the entire manor, giving the ancient buildings a golden hue.
Serena was lost in her own thoughts until an owl landed lightly on her windowsill, interrupting her meditation.
It was a letter from Dumbledore.
In the letter, Dumbledore invited Salina to go on vacation to the south of France in a relaxed tone, and mentioned mysteriously that she would meet an "old friend".
Salina keenly realized that this letter was not as simple as it seemed.
As expected, when Salina arrived at the address specified by Dumbledore, what greeted her was not a holiday villa, but an quaint and mysterious alchemy workshop.
This alchemy workshop was obviously very old. Its walls were made of rough stones and covered with ivy. A few vines even stubbornly drilled into the room through the cracks in the stone, casting fierce shadows in the dim light.
The air was filled with a strange smell that was a mixture of various herbs, metals, and unknown liquids. It couldn't be said to be fragrant, but it surprisingly made people feel at ease.
In the center of the room stood a huge oak workbench, on which were placed various alchemical tools in a disorderly yet orderly manner: crucibles of various sizes, brass scales covered with verdigris, peculiarly shaped mortars and pestles, as well as various glass flasks and test tubes. The bottles and jars contained colorful powders, liquids and unknown biological tissues.
In one corner of the room there was a mountain of books, yellowed parchment scrolls and dusty hardcover books mixed together, seemingly silently telling ancient secrets.
On the other side of the room stood a huge furnace with a blazing fire that illuminated the crucible in a red glow.
The window was small and covered with thick curtains, letting in only a faint light, making the room seem even darker and more mysterious.
Salina could sense that in this seemingly messy workshop, there was a powerful magical power hidden.
"Welcome, Miss Swinburne." A short, silver-haired old man walked out of the shadows with a kind smile on his face. "Nice to meet you, I am Nicolas Flamel."
Salina bowed politely, suppressing her inner surprise.
Of course she knew who Nicolas Flamel was—the legendary alchemist who lived for more than six hundred years and the creator of the Philosopher's Stone.
Flamel's workshop was like a huge treasure house, filled with all kinds of strange alchemical instruments and gleaming potion bottles.
Salina seemed to be in a magical world full of unknowns, with curiosity gleaming in her eyes.
"Miss Swinburne is interested in alchemy?" Flamel noticed Salina's gaze and asked with a smile.
"Yes, but I'm not proficient in it." Salina answered modestly, while observing everything around her calmly.
Flamel walked over to a table filled with crystal balls and tarot cards, picked up a silver metal ball, and handed it to Salina.
"This is not an ordinary metal ball. It can predict the future. Would you like to try it?"
Salina took the metal ball and felt a chill in her hand.
She closed her eyes and slowly injected magic power into it. Blurry images appeared on the surface of the metal ball but soon disappeared.
"It seems that you haven't mastered the trick yet." Flamel looked at Salina with interest. "Alchemy and divination are inextricably linked. If you want to see through the future, magic power alone is not enough. You also need a keen and determined heart."
"What about the Philosopher's Stone? Can it also predict the future?" Salina asked calmly.
"The Philosopher's Stone..." Flamel's eyes became profound. "It can grant people infinite life and endless wealth, but it is also full of temptations and traps. A true alchemist does not pursue these illusory things, but knowledge itself."
Salina fell into deep thought...
"Thank you, Mr. Flamel, I understand." Salina said sincerely.
Flamel nodded with satisfaction. He knew that Salina had found her own answer.
Nicolas Flamel continued, "After I returned to France, I taught potions and alchemy at my alma mater, Beauxbatons School of Magic. If you are willing, you can come to the school to visit and learn."
Salina's eyes lit up. She had never thought that she would have the opportunity to visit and study at Beauxbatons School of Magic. She quickly said, "That's great. I'd love to!"
……
Beauxbatons School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is located in a valley in the Pyrenees Mountains in southern France and is known as the art palace of the wizarding world.
When Salina stepped into the school, it was as if she had entered a dreamy fairy tale world.
A magnificent castle stands in the center of the valley. Its silvery-white exterior walls sparkle in the sun, like a work of art carved out of ice and snow.
The castle is surrounded by large green lawns and colorful flower beds, with towering mountains and sparkling lakes in the distance, the scenery is breathtaking.
The interior of the castle is even more magnificent, decorated with exquisite sculptures, murals and tapestries, and every detail is full of artistic atmosphere.
Melodious music echoed in the spacious and bright classroom. Students, wearing elegant blue school uniforms, were concentrating on studying various magic courses.
Salina strolled in the school corridor, admiring the lifelike magic portraits on the walls and listening to the pleasant sound of water from the fountain. She felt as if she was in a magical world full of artistic atmosphere, which made her linger.
With Nick's arrangement, Salina had her own temporary dormitory.
The faint scent of strawberries permeates the air, as if telling the sweetness of summer.
By the window, a string of sheep-shaped wind chimes swayed gently in the breeze, making clear and melodious tinkling sounds, like a light piece of music.
The afternoon sun was still golden, shining through the windows carved with exquisite patterns, casting a layer of warm glow over the room.
On the windowsill, several pots of magical plants were bathing in the sun, with crystal clear water droplets sparkling on the emerald green leaves.
On the ceiling, colorful magic hanging lights are constantly rotating, emitting soft light, making the entire space full of warmth and fantasy.
Because the school is currently on summer vacation, Sharina can move freely around the school before Nick conducts the seminar.
The library of Beauxbatons is more like an ancient and mysterious palace.
On the towering dome, the mural depicting the constellation map sparkles with starlight under the glow of magic.
The space is surrounded by huge floor-to-ceiling windows, and the sunlight shines through the pale yellow glass, casting a warm glow on the interior.
The air is filled with the unique scent of ink from ancient books mixed with an unknown floral scent, which is refreshing.
In the center of the library, a huge fountain flows quietly. The water is so clear that you can vaguely see a few silver magic fish swimming in the water.
Around the fountain, there were rows of tall bookshelves, on which countless ancient magic books were neatly arranged.
Some books look like they have been through centuries of wind and frost, and the words on the cover have become blurred, but they still exude an awe-inspiring mysterious atmosphere.
Several huge oak tables and chairs are placed around the library for students to read and study.
The sunlight shines through the window onto the table, forming warm spots of light.
A few feather pens slid gently across the parchment, making a rustling sound, adding a bit of vitality to the quiet space.
