Hogwarts Lion Girl

Chapter 108 Ginny and Neville

The early morning sunlight shines through the glass windows, illuminating the entire common room.

The fire in the fireplace had gone out, leaving only some ashes, and the air was filled with a faint smell of charcoal.

In the cafeteria, several early rising students sat at the tables in groups of three or four, chatting in low voices and enjoying the quiet breakfast time.

The breakfast table was filled with rich food: golden and crispy toast, charred bacon, and fragrant oatmeal... the variety of food was so delicious that it made people's mouths water.

Ginny helped herself to a large piece of toast, slathered it with jam, and took a contented bite.

Salina served herself a bowl of oatmeal porridge with a cup of hot milk and ate it slowly.

After breakfast, Serena and Ginny walked side by side to the greenhouse.

The early morning sun shone on the roof of Hogwarts Castle, reflecting golden light, and the air was filled with the fragrance of grass and earth.

"Did you sleep well last night?" Ginny nudged Salina gently with her elbow.

"Yeah, it's okay." Salina answered vaguely.

"You don't look well. Did you have a nightmare?" Ginny stopped and looked at Salina with concern.

"Nothing, it's almost time for class." Salina quickened her pace, and Ginny hurried to catch up.

Today's Herbology class was held in Greenhouse 3. Professor Sprout was standing next to rows of bouncing balls, waiting for the students to arrive.

"Good morning, students!" Professor Sprout's voice was as loud as ever. "Today we will learn how to take care of bouncing balls. Remember, they are not as docile as they look. Be careful of their vines. Getting entangled is not a fun experience."

Professor Sprout divided the students into groups of two, and Salina and Ginny naturally came together.

"Shall we be a group later?" Ginny asked, her eyes glancing in Neville's direction intentionally or unintentionally.

Sharina followed Ginny's gaze and saw Neville trying clumsily to control a wildly twisting bouncing ball. His face was flushed and beads of sweat rolled down his forehead.

"Of course." Salina smiled and nodded, responding thoughtfully.

"Neville, do you need help?" Ginny waved at Neville enthusiastically.

When Neville heard Ginny's voice, his hands moved even more flustered, and his wrist was accidentally entangled by the vines of the bouncing ball.

"Ouch!" Neville cried out in pain.

Seeing this, Ginny rushed forward and grabbed the vine without hesitation.

"Don't worry, I'll help you!" Ginny said, pulling hard, trying to untie the vines from Neville's wrists.

However, the vine seemed to have life, it became tighter and tighter, Ginny and Neville's arms were pressed tightly together, their cheeks turned red due to the sudden close contact.

Salina stood aside, her eyes widened silently.

When did the two of them...

"Oh, Merlin's beard!" Professor Sprout ran over in a hurry, looked at the scene, and couldn't help shaking his head and laughing, "Miss Weasley, you are really strong, you have strangled this bouncing ball so hard that it can't breathe!"

Ginny's face suddenly turned redder, and she stammered, "Professor, I...I didn't mean it. I just wanted to help Neville..."

"I know, I know," Professor Sprout smiled kindly, "Gryffindors are always full of courage and enthusiasm, but sometimes they have to pay attention to the method, don't they?"

As she spoke, she waved her wand, and the vine that was wrapped around Neville's wrist immediately loosened and retracted into the flowerpot like a snake.

"Thank you, Professor." Neville rubbed his wrist and lowered his head in embarrassment.

"Okay, okay, everyone go back to class," Professor Sprout waved his hand, "Remember, bouncing balls are not easy to deal with, be careful not to get entangled by them!"

The students dispersed and returned to their respective lab tables.

Ginny lowered her head, walked quickly to Serena's side, and whispered, "It's all Neville's fault. He's so clumsy!"

Salina looked at Ginny's red cheeks and couldn't help wanting to laugh, but she held it back and just nodded in agreement and said, "Yeah, he's always like this."

Ginny secretly glanced at Serena and found that she was normal, so she breathed a sigh of relief. Then she couldn't help but look at Neville, only to see Neville looking at her with an apologetic look on his face. Ginny's heart suddenly skipped a beat and she quickly looked away in panic.

In the following Herbology class, Ginny's mind was not on studying at all. She secretly glanced at Neville from time to time and found that Neville was also secretly looking at her. As soon as their eyes met, they immediately jumped away as if they had been electrocuted, and a barely perceptible blush appeared on their faces.

Salina saw all of this. She held her chin with her hand and a hint of an aunt's smile appeared at the corner of her mouth.

After class, Salina did not go back with Ginny as usual, but found an excuse to go her separate ways.

Salina walked around the corner of the greenhouse, where there was a row of tall stone arches. The sunlight shone through the glass, casting mottled shadows on the ground.

She noticed Neville catch up with Ginny under the archway, and then the two walked out into the sunlight side by side, talking quietly as they walked.

Neville's fingers twisted his robes nervously, while Ginny pretended to be very interested in the portraits in the corridor, stopping from time to time to comment, but her shining eyes could not help but glance at Neville secretly.

Finally, after passing a painting of three wizards fighting, Neville seemed to have made up his mind. He took a deep breath and said in a mosquito-like voice: "Ginny, I, I have to apologize for what happened in the Herbology class just now. I was so clumsy and caused you..."

"Oh, Neville, it's no big deal!" Ginny interrupted him, her cheeks red as a ripe apple, "Really, I don't mind at all."

Neville looked up at Ginny, who had a shy smile on her face, which finally put Neville's heart at ease. He scratched his head, trying to find a topic to break the awkward silence, "Um, do you like bouncing balls? I think they look pretty interesting."

Ginny was stunned for a moment, then laughed out loud, "Are you serious, Neville? What else can those guys do besides biting people?"

Neville was infected by Ginny's laughter and started laughing too. "I, I just think their vines are very lively..."

In this way, the two chatted from Herbology to Quidditch, from their favorite magical creatures to their future career plans, and the atmosphere gradually became relaxed and happy. Salina found that Neville was no longer as nervous as before. He began to talk to Ginny about his favorite plant, Mimosa, while Ginny held her chin and listened with relish.

Finally, they reached the door of the Great Hall. Ginny stopped and said to Neville, "Neville, are you free tomorrow? I want to borrow some books about herbs from the library. Can you help me with some references?"

"Of course!" Neville replied excitedly.

"It's settled then!" Ginny winked at Neville, "See you tomorrow!"

Serena watched Ginny walk into the hall happily, then looked at Neville who was standing there, grinning foolishly and watching Ginny leave. She couldn't help but look up at the sky. The weather was really sunny today.
