Chapter 192 The Master of the Maze
In the dim Potions office, Snape, sweating profusely, held on to the two sides of the Pensieve where many rays of memory were floating.
Wright walked into the office from outside, looked at the panting figure, and asked softly: "Professor, are you okay?"
Snape was not surprised by Light's arrival, but he did not answer Light's question either.
With just a wave of his hand, he closed the meditation basin, then took out a bottle of potion and started drinking it.
After drinking half a bottle of potion, Snape, who seemed very tired, turned around.
As if giving a warning, he said to Wright who was feeling somewhat guilty:
"You shouldn't have gotten involved. Whether it's Black or Remus, they'll only get you deeper into trouble."
Seeing Snape pouring potion into his mouth every time he spoke, Wright couldn't help but blame himself even more:
"I'm sorry, Professor! I didn't expect Pettigrew's ability to talk so hard was so great. I miscalculated."
Hearing the word that had never appeared before, Snape first asked curiously: "Large mouth? Does it mean eloquent?"
He didn't know what "mouth cannon" meant, but looking at Peter's state, he could roughly guess the meaning of the word.
"Yes! It's eloquent!" Wright said with a serious look on his face without any explanation.
Seeing Wright's serious and self-blaming face, Snape put away the glass bottle and said as if to comfort him:
"It doesn't matter! I know I have to face it eventually. It's just a matter of time."
"Besides, I was the one who prepared the potion you injected him with. In a sense, I am also responsible."
After saying that, Snape waved his hand and floated back to the chair behind the office like a bat.
Seeing Snape who seemed to have recovered, and thinking of Peter who had just fought so well, Wright couldn't help but ask:
"Professor, what was the composition of the potion you injected him with that was so strong?"
Snape hesitated for a moment, and after seeing his puzzled and curious expression, he slowly said:
"It's a variation of the euphoria potion. I mixed it into an inspirational potion that can stimulate emotions. The effect is surprisingly good..."
"It's really good, but it's probably because that guy has been holding it in for a long time."
After Wright finished sighing, the voice fell silent, and he didn't know how to comfort Snape for a moment.
After the two were silent for a long time, Snape's hoarse voice sounded again in the dim office:
"What do you think will happen to Blake later?"
Originally, Wright wanted to say he didn't know, but seeing Snape's cold and serious eyes, he told the truth:
"It won't be a big deal! With so many people witnessing this, the worst-case scenario is that the warrant will be cancelled and he can no longer show up openly."
Hearing Wright's inference, Snape's eyes turned deep and he murmured, "It's really difficult! The ancient Black family?"
Hearing the displeasure and disgust in Snape's words, Light also echoed: "Yes! The ancient Dumbrake family!?"
Echoing Snape's hoarse murmur, he didn't know why, but he felt that the surname seemed to be becoming more and more familiar.
"Blake Bla"
As if he had heard it somewhere before, Wright kept chewing on the word Black.
Seeing Light's unusual behavior, Snape did not urge him, but waited quietly for his answer.
After an unknown amount of time, Wright, who was immersed in his own thoughts, raised his head, looked at Snape, who had a calm expression, and asked:
"Professor, do you know the origin of the Black family?"
Although Snape didn't quite understand why Wright suddenly asked this, he still told him what he knew:
"The Braque family originated in the Middle Ages, although it is difficult to know who the pioneers were."
"But everyone agrees that they were named after the Old English word for darkness (Bla)."
"Finally, a wizard named William Bligh changed his name to William Blake in the 16th century..."
At this moment, a flash of enlightenment flashed through Wright's mind, and he could no longer hear the rest.
"I see. In the Middle Ages, when the witch hunts were at their most intense, people changed their surnames to Blake."
Thinking of this, he smiled easily and whispered:
“It turns out that the wailing souls in that maze have already told me.
"Who is the owner of this maze? Blake evolved from Bla..."
After roughly knowing what the wronged souls meant, Wright took out the "Scottish Fables" from his space equipment and began to read it.
"A pure-blood family, a notorious maze, established in the Middle Ages, and disappeared along with the witch-hunting movement..."
"Like a living creature, it can automatically track its prey."
"I didn't expect that the owner of the maze is you. It seems that I was blinded by my own mistakes."
Seeing Light's series of strange behaviors, Snape was curious about what Light had discovered.
But he did not make a sound to disturb her, but waited quietly, without any sign of annoyance on his face.
Wright kept flipping through the book, and when he found the story he needed, he placed it in front of Snape.
"Professor, do you think this fable is true?"
"Blake's Labyrinth?"
Snape glanced at the beginning of the story, then looked at Wright, and couldn't help but become more curious about his purpose.
Wright did not hide anything and directly shared his experiences, clues, and speculations.
……
After listening to his idea, Snape looked at the fable in his hand and said slowly:
"Are you saying that you think the prophecy Trelawney gave you foreshadows this?"
In response to Snape's question, Wright explained seriously:
"Yes! He is the only one who best fits all my speculations!"
"Although he is not a pure blood, he has a morbid pursuit of pure blood and even added Black to his middle name."
"Union Blackwood!"
"Originally named Union Wood! He and his wife Atrisia Black are both extreme purists."
"They met, fell in love, and bonded at Hogwarts..."
Before Wright could continue, Snape interrupted him and asked with a frown:
"Wait a minute, I don't seem to see this information in the book?"
Facing Snape's questioning, Wright explained his process of finding the origin of the maze:
"There is indeed no such statement in this book! I found this out in my research at the school library!"
"But when I saw that they were not pure blood, I gave up on this direction."
"I just learned that Black is derived from the Old English word Bla. Combined with the wails of the wronged souls in the maze, I thought of this possibility."
Hearing Light's reasonable explanation, Snape nodded slightly, motioning him to continue explaining.
