The Split-Actress in Conan's World
Chapter 113 Legends and Legends
"But because of this, why do you do these things? Aren't they your friends since childhood?" Mao Lilan looked at her in confusion.
"It's just revenge." Shimabukuro Kimie couldn't help but chuckle as she looked at her innocent appearance.
"I was kept in the dark the whole time."
"It wasn't until Saori lost her dugong arrow not long ago that I realized something was wrong because I was so scared."
"She confessed in extreme fear and told the whole truth about the incident."
"In fact, the warehouse caught fire three years ago because the three of them didn't win the dugong arrow that year. They were filled with resentment and resentment, so they wanted to go inside to see if there was any stock, but it was obvious that there was none, so they burned the warehouse down."
"But before the operation, they saw their mother dressed as a priestess walking into the warehouse, so they wanted to see if the so-called mermaid priestess was really immortal, so they ignored her request for help."
"Halfway through the fire, they finally got scared and feared they would be caught, so they turned and ran away."
"In the end, my mother was brutally burned to death inside."
Fukuyama Rokuro had a hard time digesting this huge amount of information and was a little distressed: "But didn't your mother have an accident while sailing five years ago?"
"Because it is much easier to concentrate on playing the role of the priest than to play two roles, and my mother is getting older and doesn't want to be so busy anymore, so she announced to the public that she died at sea."
Shimabukuro Kimie held her forehead with her hand, gently lifted the hair away from her ears, and revealed a sad smile.
"Really... I put a lot of effort into preparing to devote my life to this small island."
"Saori, she actually let me know all this at this time..."
She shed a tear, bit her lip, lowered her head slightly, and hid all her expressions behind her falling hair.
"How can I remain indifferent to this?"
"All of a sudden, all my best friends became the murderers of my mother. How could I remain indifferent?"
She sobbed quietly.
To her, life is nothing more than a Tower of Babel made of sand, false, tall, but vulnerable.
Both she and her mother were just trying their best to weave a vivid lie.
Whether it is life or death, they are nothing more than illusions that can be fabricated at will.
It seems like there is not a single moment that I live for myself.
This is the fate of the Shimabukuro family priestess.
Carrying her mother's last wish and trying to continue the life of the island, she was entangled in the web of fate. No matter how she struggled, she could only slowly slide into the abyss of death.
In order to avenge her mother, "Shimabukuro Kimie" will eventually become a victim of the fire of karma and completely disappear in hatred and confusion.
In the end, all that is left is an old body.
A soul that is still naive and wandering in confusion is imprisoned in this shackle-like body and will spend the remaining decades of his life atonement.
"I'm still very sorry." She suddenly smiled brightly, with a tear in the corner of her eye.
"Although it's very irresponsible, Mr. Detective can see through all this. For me, maybe it's a relief."
Behind Kogoro Mouri, Conan looked at the bow voice changer in his hand and couldn't help but be silent.
The wind on the island was still.
The rustling sound among the trees slowly faded away.
Everything fell into silence.
It is rumored that mermaids have beautiful faces, good figures, and kind natures.
When it is sad, it sheds tears, which turn into precious pearls. Its scales can be ground into powder and used as medicine, and its flesh can be turned into fat that can burn for thousands of years without extinguishing.
Whenever someone is lost at sea, the mermaid will use her beautiful singing to guide them back home.
The sound is mournful, like resentment, like longing, like crying, and like complaining, and the lingering sound never stops.
Just like now when everything is quiet.
A melodious and graceful singing voice came from nowhere, passing through the deep forest stream, brushing through the quiet mountain village town in the dead of night, breaking into this old shrine, and into everyone's ears.
As if to accompany it, another ethereal whale call sounded, as if the entire island was resonating with it, making those who were sleeping feel more peaceful, and those who were awake feel calm.
In this peaceful atmosphere, the sky finally brightened.
"Hmm..." Hattori Heiji slowly opened his eyes and first saw the clear blue sky, with two or three cotton-like white clouds wandering around.
Chirp.
A very brave tit jumped onto his head, lowered its head and gently pecked at the strands of hair that were scattered on his forehead.
He was stunned for a moment and smiled knowingly.
very nice.
Just as he was about to wave away the little guy, he suddenly found that he couldn't move his arms.
He turned his face slightly and felt a slight heat right in front of him.
Toyama Kazuha's face was very close to him, with a very peaceful expression, and it seemed that he was sleeping soundly. His slow breathing brought up a burst of hot air, which was exhaled on his cheek.
His hands were held tightly in her arms, without any room for looseness.
This stupid woman...
Using his other hand to press down the loose hat on her head, he sighed again in his heart.
It's great that there is magic in this world.
He checked his injuries again, and sure enough, they had all healed.
He took out his cell phone from his pocket and found more than ten missed calls, two of which were from Kudo's woman, one from an uncle, and the rest were from Kudo.
"Oh no, it's been several hours..." He quickly got up, leaving He Ye hanging in the air, and groaned in dissatisfaction.
"What are you doing, Heiji..."
"How long are you going to sleep, woman? Wake up!"
"You're so annoying, Heiji..."
In the end, it was Hattori Heiji who carried Kazuha down the mountain.
This woman seemed really tired, after all, her emotions fluctuated so much at that time.
Sighing, he lifted Kazuha's legs and lifted them up so that she could lie on his shoulder more steadily. He freed one hand to call Kudo and held the phone between his neck.
"What? Finally the case was solved..."
He complained and hung up the phone.
Kudo said they were waiting for two people at the dock. Hattori could tell that he didn't seem to be very interested, and he could probably deduce the circumstances behind the case.
After all, Miss Jun Hui doesn't look like a bad person.
When Hattori Heiji arrived at the dock carrying Toyama Kazuha, he was scolded by the refreshed uncle.
"Where on earth were you last night, you Osaka kid? You didn't even answer my phone calls!"
Hattori Heiji smiled brightly: "Sorry, sorry, we got lost on the mountain halfway, so we just fell asleep on the mountain."
Uncle Maori looked dead: "Really..."
While we were chatting and laughing, the returning ship arrived.
Toyama Kazuha finally woke up and followed Hattori Heiji with sleepy eyes, seeming still a little confused.
It was not until the ship had been sailing for a long time and the cool sea breeze caressed her face that she came to her senses a little.
“Ohhh!!”
She screamed, and suddenly grabbed Hattori Heiji's hand and held it in front of her eyes to look at it carefully.
"Hey, where's the wound?"
She tossed and turned, unwilling to believe it, but still couldn't find the shocking wound in her memory.
"There's no wound at all!" Hattori Heiji quickly pulled his hand back, his dark face slightly flushed.
He Ye said seriously: "It's the injury you got last night when you were hanging on the cliff, and I also stabbed you with a dugong arrow. If you don't treat it in time, it might get worse!"
"What cliff? There's no such thing!" Hattori Heiji rolled his eyes.
"That was when you slipped and fell down the mountain." Yuanshan Heye looked at him suspiciously and tried to grab his hand.
"You didn't fall at all. You were stopped by the stone tablet. But you fainted with a look of fear on your face."
Hattori Heiji said calmly: "I had no choice but to rest there until dawn."
He stretched out his hand: "Look, there is no wound at all."
"Really?" He Ye always felt something was wrong, but he couldn't put his finger on it.
She suddenly thought of something and felt her pocket, only to find it empty.
"Sure enough! I remember that after I stabbed you, the dugong arrow fell into the sea, and it's not on me now!"
"I guess you were careless and didn't know where it fell?"
"So what happened on the cliff is true, right?"
"I said no, that's it, you're such an annoying woman..."
"..."
On the other side of the deck, Adam raised his sunglasses and looked at the noisy people not far away with his eyes narrowed.
Noah's voice came from the headphones.
"It's nice to come out and have some fun once in a while."
"It's okay." Adam replied indifferently and turned back to the room.
Professor Lecter was sitting on the sofa. When he heard him come in, he looked up from his book and glanced at him.
"I heard from Noah that you were caught breaking into a girl's room?" There was a hint of smile in his eyes and his tone was teasing.
Adam said seriously: "Boss, this is pure slander!"
"It was obviously this guy Noah who was unwilling to accept not winning the prize. He insisted on looking for the old rosters to deduce the winning pattern."
He sold the artificial idiot without hesitation.
"Because Noah wants to give the professor a surprise!" Noah quickly softened and acted cute.
“It’s just a pity that I didn’t win the prize…”
"As for the dugong arrow, I actually have it." Professor Lecter's words startled both of them.
He closed the book and put it beside the sofa, then stood up, picked up the bag beside him, and took out an exquisite box from it.
He opened it gently, and inside was a dugong arrow.
"I won at the festival four years ago."
"Boss, if you have won the lottery, why did you come to this island? I thought you had never won the lottery..." Adam asked puzzledly.
Professor Lecter looked out the window at the vast ocean with a look of nostalgia in his eyes.
"I made a bet here with an old friend."
"The content of the bet is... who can live longer."
......
Beneath the huge ship is an even larger black shadow.
The small fish revealed its true form and hid in the sea dozens of meters deep below the ship, swimming slowly along.
On her back sat Lilith.
“I didn’t expect there really were mermaids.”
The little fish looked very happy, and it seemed that she was excited to meet other magical creatures.
"Yeah, but it's probably the last one." Lilith seemed a little absent-minded.
"...No wonder Lilith came to this place first after waking up." Xiaoyu understood.
"Well, this place is quite familiar to me."
Lilith sat on the little fish's back with her legs hugged. Maybe it was because the little fish became more lively after turning into a human, the surrounding fish were not so afraid of her anymore. Some of the little guys even came up curiously and touched Lilith's fingertips with their heads.
"This island was the last place I visited before I fell asleep. A mermaid lived here in seclusion, tending to a sea of flowers."
"When I met her, she was in love with a human."
Xiaoyu exclaimed: "Oh, that's quite romantic."
Lilith shook her head.
"She begged me to give her a human body so that she could be with that human freely, and I agreed."
"Everything went well at first, they fell in love, formed a family and lived a relatively happy life."
"Until their baby is born."
"Shapeshifting magic doesn't really change species. It's just an advanced form of transformation magic. So their children are naturally a mix of mermaids and humans."
"That child has the appearance of a human, but retains the powers of a merman."
"When the human man held the child in his arms, he saw the child crying. The tears fell to the ground and turned into pearls."
"He ran away in a heap."
......
"In order to prevent the merman from being exposed, the wizard who was with the elves secretly chased after him and executed him before the man told everyone else everything."
"The mermaid later stayed on the island, still taking care of her sea of flowers, but now she had a child to take care of."
"Later, a family named Shimabukuro lived on this island."
"The elves cannot accept the humans in this world. They think that everything they do to other living beings is too cruel. They even carry out massacres like 'witch hunts' against their own kind."
"And so she fell into a deep sleep."
"And that wizard continued his journey, hoping that one day he could change the arrogant nature of mankind."
Professor Lecter closed the book and smiled gently.
"This is a legend I heard when I was teaching at MIT. It has a very Japanese flavor, doesn't it?"
"After all, elves, wizards, mermaids, etc. are nothing more than humans' yearning for the unknown."
"We still have to stick to science."
This is what the psychology professor said.
A genetically modified human and a super artificial intelligence looked at each other and reached a consensus in their hearts.
Never make the professor angry again!

The Mermaid Island chapter is finally finished!
To be honest, this case has always been my favorite case in Conan's original work, and the storyboard of this chapter of the comics is also very interesting.
So when writing this part, I put a lot of energy into it, and the level of effort I put in was even no less than that of the Baker Street theater version.
I have been thinking about it for a long time, but my writing skills are not good enough and I still have difficulty in writing it.
I had imagined that the main character of this article should be Lilith, but when I started writing about Adam and Xiaoyu, I suddenly felt the pain of limited space.
The final decision was to postpone Lilith's main role and to supplement Xiaoyu's image to enrich Lilith from the side, which might preserve some mystery.
Because in my conception, Lilith's magic setting is not the main feature of this identity.
Instead, it is her insights into various magic and magical legends that I would like to write more about.
Next are two short daily scenes as a transition, and then it’s time for the theater version of Heaven!
Glenfiddich is the main character! (The author turned away after realizing that Glenfiddich hasn't appeared in nearly 40 chapters.)
Let’s look forward to it!
I wish you all a happy life.
