Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
Chapter 61 Hallows and Horcruxes
On the hand that Anriel stretched out was Gaunt's ring.
Or rather, the Resurrection Stone.
The crude black stone on the ring seemed to have sensed the strong will of its "master", or perhaps it had sensed the extremely strong "death" breath of the group of corpses around it.
The fine cracks on the Resurrection Stone disappeared completely, like a wound that had healed instantly, and only the eye-like mark was still engraved on the surface of the stone.
A hazy gray mist poured out from that mysterious symbol, the "vertical eye" composed of a triangle, a circle, and a vertical line.
The symbol of the Deathly Hallows.
On the side of the boat, Dumbledore's face was less calm, more solemn and astonished.
When Dumbledore and Grindelwald were young, they cared more about the Elder Wand than the Resurrection Stone and the Invisibility Cloak.
Until Dumbledore entered middle age and even old age.
There were too many regrets that he was unable to make up for, so the Resurrection Stone became more and more attractive to him.
He gradually became more concerned with the Resurrection Stone - and possibly because the Elder Wand was clenched in his own hand.
But even Dumbledore wanted to pursue the Resurrection Stone out of regret and self-blame for the past. In the original book, when he involuntarily put on the ring with powerful black magic, his purpose was to resurrect his relatives:
Ariana, Candela, Percival...
Dumbledore's Boggart is the body of his sister, Ariana Dumbledore.
......
Most people pursue the Resurrection Stone to make up for past regrets.
A small number of people, such as Grindelwald, pursue the Resurrection Stone in order to gain greater power.
Grindelwald never thought about resurrecting any dead person. The Resurrection Stone meant an army of Inferi to him.
Some people think that this view is wrong, because those who want to use the resurrection stone to resurrect their loved ones will only get a vague illusion.
Some people think that this view is correct, but the meaning of the resurrection stone seems to be to commemorate those who have passed away in the past.
This is the most contradictory, mysterious, and terrifying of the three sacred artifacts.
The Elder Wand creates death.
Invisibility cloak to avoid death.
The Resurrection Stone...blasphemy against death.
A large cloud of gray fog was swirling around Anriel's hand, and the noise from the Lake of Corpses became louder. Countless corpses "desperately" and "one after another" rushed towards the gray fog, but they disappeared in the mist without making any sound, disappearing from this world without leaving any trace.
Anriel did not look back at Dumbledore.
He was too busy to take care of himself——
"Fuck... this broken stone..."
Anriel gritted his teeth and tried his best to control the brutal and reckless power in his hands, like a wild horse running out of control.
What's even more terrifying is that this strange stone is like a pump, sucking away Anriel's magic power.
It's not that he couldn't control the stone - the magic power was more than enough, but the situation was not right.
He needed a quiet, undisturbed place to first supply the Resurrection Stone with enough magic power, and then master and control the power of this stone.
Anriel swung the wand in his right hand diagonally upward.
A terrifying blue firebird rushed out from the tip of the wand, drawing a graceful blue fire line in the air.
The firebirds danced in front of Anriel, forming a towering wall of fire. Any corpse that tried to pass through the wall of fire would be burned to ashes in an instant.
Without the Yin corpses rushing to die one after another, the gray mist spewed out by the Resurrection Stone seemed to be stunned.
It also stopped consuming Anriel's magic.
The gray fog gradually shrank and returned to the Resurrection Stone.
Anriel had a look of confusion on his face, and his mind was racing as he dealt with the remaining corpses.
But what he was sure of was that this ball of gray fog had no consciousness of its own, only an instinctive impulse.
This is good news. At least it means that after Anriel supplies a large amount of magic power to the Resurrection Stone, there will be no strange incidents such as possession of other bodies.
He himself is a time traveler, if he is possessed by some immortal being, it would be really funny.
"Kid, are you okay?"
Dumbledore asked from the bow.
Anriel nodded and jumped onto the boat.
The speedboat sped towards the cave entrance, but there was no need to go that fast.
Anriel almost killed all the Yin corpses.
The number of corpses in this lake seems endless, but in fact there is a limit.
When they came, the speedboats killed a large number of them, and Anriel killed a large number of them in the center of the lake, plus those killed by Dumbledore...
The entire lake was now almost empty, with only two or three cats left, which could not possibly cause any impact on their return journey.
In the cabin, neither of them spoke a word.
Anriel didn't know where to start, and Dumbledore had no intention of asking at all.
A lot happened in these few hours.
This also made Dumbledore see one thing clearly -
What he was worried about was that Anriel would follow Gellert's old path.
The premise of worrying is that you have the ability to stop it.
Dumbledore seemed a little relieved now.
He seemed to have suddenly found his position——
Encourage, support and guide Anriel to the right path, instead of frightening him and preventing him from being exposed to all the darkness.
In the final analysis, it is because of concern that one becomes confused.
The future is uncertain, who can guarantee that they can see it clearly?
Anriel didn't know what Dumbledore was thinking.
Even if he knew, the most he would do is sigh and say, "Sir, you understand me."
This was the first time since Anriel's rebirth that he felt ashamed of his poor language system.
Or perhaps the secret of the Resurrection Stone is still hidden too deeply.
He didn't know where to start explaining to Dumbledore.
......
Apparition, as a form of teleportation, is undoubtedly fast, and the two quickly returned to Hogwarts.
"Ah, this trip went pretty smoothly, didn't it?"
Dumbledore said in a brisk tone.
Anriel smiled and got the point of his words:
"Yes, it went very smoothly indeed. Voldemort didn't even notice that one of his Horcruxes had been taken away."
This statement is true, but the "Horcrux" is false.
Anriel added in his mind.
However, Voldemort killed the Potters in 1981, and Regulus Black stole Voldemort's Horcrux in 1979.
This proves that the split of Voldemort's soul, which prevented him from detecting the state of his Horcruxes, had already occurred when he divided his soul into six parts.
Whether he was alive or half dead, he seemed unable to check the condition of the Horcrux.
