Li Xueyue wandered the corridors, searching for the Chrysanthemum Garden. She found it interesting that the Queen and the Emperor trusted her to go there in person. The Queen didn't give her guidance, but she gave specific instructions. The only problem was that Xueyue's sense of direction was terrible. So, she found herself lost.

"Maybe I'm going the wrong way," she concluded as she realized that all the open hallways around her had doors. Beautifully designed, similar to the ones at the Lee Mansion. She found it interesting that there were guards standing by the doors. Maybe there was someone important inside?

She sighed and decided to retract her steps. She turned her head and the maids also lowered their heads. Unless necessary, they rarely spoke to her. Sometimes, it feels lonely...

"Do you know the way back?" Li Xueyue asked them, but they slowly shook their heads.

"I'm afraid we don't, ma'am. We apologize for our incompetence," one of them said.

Li Xueyue sighed softly again and crossed her arms. None of her maids were guards. This should have been strange, but apparently the emperor never allowed guards from other families to enter the palace. Even the Li family. She remembered them waiting at the bottom of the grand staircase, their expressions anxious, but the Duchess didn't seem to mind - which was not surprising, because she grew up in this familiar environment.

"Ma'am, do you want us to ask the guards?"

"That's great." Li Xueyue nodded and approached a guard at the door.

"Wait ma'am, this is our job—"

The door was pushed open, and Li Xueyue was startled. When she looked up, her eyes widened. When she saw him, she felt a gust of wind blowing through her body. He was so handsome that she couldn't describe it. It was impossible not to notice how handsome he was, tall and well-proportioned with muscles. With dark hair, tanned complexion, and pointed chin, he was attractive in every way. When all his features were put together, his appeal went far beyond the traditional way.

"You're here." His voice was low and hoarse, but pleasant to the ear. It was so gentle and soothing that she blinked in shock. What just happened?

His eyes searched her face, and then he nodded gently. "I've been waiting." Without warning, he grabbed her wrist and dragged her into his room.

His touch stiffened her—firm, confident, yet relaxed and caring.

"What are you doing?" She frowned and tried to pull her arm back, but it was too late, he had already closed the door behind him. She didn't realize that the guards had suddenly blocked the entrance from the outside.

"What do you mean?" he asked, dragging her behind a black folding screen with white branches.

“This is inappropriate!”

The man raised an eyebrow and agreed, "I know." He pointed to his indecently dressed body.

Her face burned as she realized he was wearing only an extremely thin robe that was tied lazily together, revealing his solid chest, which rose and fell and tightened when he rolled his shoulders.

"Dress me up."

"What?" Li Xueyue hissed, pulling her hand back, her eyes narrowed. She felt a shiver run down her spine. When he was irritated, he was even more attractive.

"What? You can't perform basic duties?"

"Basic duties?" she repeated, her eyebrows knitted together. \"You know what-\"

"Do you know where the clothes are? Yes, they are right there." He nodded at the black robe draped over the chair.

"I won't dress you."

He bit his lower lip to keep a smile from breaking out. "What kind of wife are you if you can't even dress a man?"

Li Xueyue hesitated, and a warm feeling spread across her face. She misunderstood his words and retorted, "As if anyone would marry you."

"You're so rich," he scoffed, rolling his dark eyes. "We don't have all day, now hurry up." He crossed his arms and rested his chin on his black robe.

Li Xueyue tried her best not to let her eyes wander, but she had already seen the clenching of his biceps. \"You're crazy.\"

"At least I'm not useless." A sneer tugged at the corners of his lips, his eyes gleaming with amusement as she stared at him. She was clearly not used to this kind of treatment. He wondered if she knew how obsessed he was with her. To be beaten and hit.

To say she was beautiful was an understatement, perhaps because she was unaware of her own charms, which added to her allure. Somehow, her imperfections made her perfect. There was a boldness about her that he admired, but he felt she was hiding herself; deep down, she was timid and soft.

"No use?" she repeated incredulously. "You can't even dress yourself!"

"I could, but I don't want to," he mused, a mischievous twinkle in his eye.

Li Xueyue was furious. First, she was caught off guard by his call, then she was kidnapped to his room, and now he was pressuring her to carry out a daring mission.

"I won't dress you."

"Oh, Sunshine, do I pity you?" He sighed, which irritated her even more, but it was useless. He deliberately made her nervous just to see how she would react. And now, she did not disappoint his every expectation.

"No man will marry you."

"Unfortunately, you can't be forgiven yet."

"What qualifications do you have to forgive me?" Li Xueyue rolled her eyes and sneered.

She stepped over the barrier, but he grabbed her wrist and pulled her back. She stumbled and collided with something hot and hard - his chest. Instantly, her body tensed. Without warning, she tried to step on his foot, hoping he would let her go, but her attempt failed and he easily removed his foot.

She felt her heart pounding against her chest as something tightened around her waist - his arms, big and strong.

"What are you doing? Let me go!"

"Why don't you force me?" he hummed playfully, twirling the ribbon tied to her belt in his fingers.

"Do you know who I am?!" she roared, trying to kick him back in the shin, but he expertly dodged her blow and wiggled a finger in front of her face.

"You're such a violent little thing." He laughed boldly. The sunlight was as warm as the fire, gentle and strong. She didn't realize her stomach was fluttering until she felt her heart slam into her chest.

Her eyes widened as she felt him rest his chin comfortably on the top of her head. "Just as expected."

"What?" Li Xueyue blinked, but there was a commotion outside - her maids. She smiled triumphantly. He was screwed.

"You want to know who I am?"

She could feel the rumbling of his chest as he spoke. She could clearly feel herself swallowing, not because she was afraid of him, but because the feeling was so strange. She didn't know whether she liked it or hated it.

"I'll worry less."

He laughed again, this time, freely and playfully. His chest shook, rocking her along. His arm tightened around her waist. "It should be 'I don't care.'"

"No, that's not right!"

"Yes."

"Do not."

"Yes."

"Do not."

"Yes."

"Grow up!" she huffed, finally realizing he was right.

"You're the one arguing with me," he said with a shrug. She shook his hand off when he suddenly pinched her cheek, making him laugh again. She wished her heart wasn't beating as fast as it had just been.

Suddenly, the door flew open.

Xueyue jumped, finally realizing her compromising position. Fortunately for her and her reputation, they were hidden behind a folding screen. He immediately released her and easily dressed her in record time. His fingers expertly tied everything in place. His smooth clothes clung to his figure perfectly, and it was then that she became aware of the round brooch pinned to his chest. The Crown of Hanjian.
