After Li Wenmin disappeared again, he strolled into the tent. No one knew where he went, but they didn't mind. He took one look at Xueyue's plate of cakes and stole one from her.

He narrowly dodged the shin aimed at his calf. He smiled and patted her head, and she wrinkled her nose.

"Greetings are over. The competition is about to begin. The archery competition is about to kick off. You should be ready." Li Wenmin nodded to the maids who came forward quickly.

"Follow them, they will help you change clothes. Chen Yang has checked the equipment and reserved a set for you." He added expressionlessly, as if he was not planning some secret plan behind the twins' backs.

Xueyue was quite perceptive. She looked at the suspicious twins. Although their expressions were calm and there seemed to be nothing wrong, their eyes would not meet hers. She crossed her arms.

"Is there anything I should know?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Do not."

"of course not!"

The twins answered at the same time, causing the Duke to chuckle and Xueyue to frown.

"what is it?"

At this moment, the festive sound of gongs and drums rang out. The sound was heavy and powerful, resounding throughout the vast venue.

"That's the signal drum for people to get ready. You have less than ten minutes to change your clothes, so hurry up." Li Chenyang pushed her towards the maids, and the maids quickly led Xueyue out of the tent.

The twins breathed a sigh of relief as they watched Xue Yue retreat. It was a close call.

As the maids changed their clothes, Xueyue kept muttering to herself. She was curious about what the twins were planning. She could only hope that it was not a plan that would bring her an unfair victory.

The maids paid no attention to their mistress' panicked expression. Instead, they quickly dressed her, finishing in less than ten minutes.

Xueyue's hairpin was replaced by two hand-woven strings that pulled her hair up. Her thick cape and spring hanbok were exchanged for tights, pants, and knee-high boots.

Xueyue walked through the path to the archery range, and someone handed her a bow and a quiver full of purple-tipped arrows. The last name Li was engraved on each arrow shaft.

Xueyue's gloomy mood suddenly brightened when she saw a familiar black horse being led towards her. As usual, the stubborn horse rebelled against the person who was controlling it. He bit the reins and stomped the ground roughly like a child.

"Black Moon!" Xueyue chuckled, and the sound instantly reached the horse's ears. Black Moon's head shook violently, and his ears twitched in the direction of the sound.

Xueyue didn't realize that she had attracted the attention of curious onlookers by shouting out the horse's name.

In fact, people had been staring at her since she walked out of the Li family's tent.

Who is that girl? Isn’t the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Li called Minghua? Are they pregnant with a daughter again? Why haven’t they heard of Xueyue?

Hearing the footsteps approaching, Black Moon stopped struggling. Seeing the calm horse, the stable boy relaxed his vigilance. This turned out to be an immediate mistake. In less than a second, Black Moon kicked his legs away.

The horse boy didn't want to be dragged down by the fast horse, so he quickly loosened the leather reins. No one stopped him, and Heiyue ran straight towards Xueyue.

"Whoa, calm down." Xueyue smiled as the horse was about to run past her. Heiyue stopped a few steps away and trotted towards her, touching her lightly in the air, and Xueyue chuckled. He misjudged their distance.

He snorted in response and she patted his mane gently, he nudged her hand, asking for a treat. "Okay, okay, here's your sugar cube." She tossed the treat into his mouth.

"You are such a child." Xueyue thought to herself as she chewed the snacks happily.

"Now, be good, okay? There are a lot of other horses here today. You can't be violent with any of them, okay?" Black Moon tilted her head. "Follow me," she whispered, and quickly jumped on the horse.

Throughout her relationship with Hei Yue, there were two pairs of eyes watching her.

When she proudly called out to the blind horse, Wen Jinkai recognized her voice immediately. While everyone else focused on the horse's muscular body, his sharp eyes could see the horse's glassy eyes.

Wen Jinkai tried to ignore her charming smile and bright eyes, the color of brown autumn leaves.

Her voice was just as he remembered it, clear and soft. She was like the lingering fragrance of spring, the girl he could not forget. It annoyed him that he did not get to see the face of his savior, but he knew he had to leave this home as soon as possible. He had countless enemies, and he did not want any of them to attack the family of the girl who saved his life.

Xueyue bent down and whispered to Heiyue: "It will be very noisy now, but don't worry, just listen to my voice and everything will be fine."

She didn't know why, but every time she spoke to Black Moon, it was as if the horse knew what she was saying. Maybe it was because the two years they had been together were long, or maybe it was just because the horse was so smart.

She knew she had to always reassure him when he was around unfamiliar horses. She had learned her lesson the year before when Li Wenmin rode with her on a new horse and Black Moon nearly trampled the poor thing to death. Apparently he didn't like strangers.

Xueyue adjusted her body and sat higher. A thunderous sound came from a distance. The competition drums began to sound.

Black Moon shuddered, hissed in displeasure, and stomped the ground lightly.

"Shh, it's okay." Xueyue whispered again, gently patting Heiyue's mane.

"Just listen to my voice and the birds in the sky." She stroked his magnificent mane with her fingers. To please the stubborn horse, she fed him another sugar cube.

A loud voice came from the distance. "The game will start at three... two... one!"

Just then, the first bird was thrown into the air. One by one, the cages were opened and the birds flew into the sky. Plates and balls of cloth were also thrown. The plates were worth one point, the balls were worth two points, and the birds were worth ten points.

Xueyue shot her arrows so fast that everyone was stunned by her accuracy. Every time she shot an arrow, a bird would fall to the ground and die.

She was so focused on winning the race that she didn’t realize the awe and confusion on everyone’s faces. She also didn’t see Li Chenyang riding on his horse, competing with her. He was also only concerned about the birds.

Together, the Lee brothers and sisters dominated the world of archery. Arrows bearing the Lee family emblem flew left and right, never missing. It was a whirlwind of purple and blue-tipped arrows that pierced birds and clay tablets.

In the last thirty seconds of the game, a frantic little bird was released from its cage. It flew high into the sky at an erratic speed. It flew toward the sun, blinding anyone who dared to look up. The last bird scored a whopping fifty points.

As Li Chenyang got closer and closer to the bird, he relaxed his vigilance, thinking that a closer distance would be more advantageous.

He reeled in his arrow and steadied his aim. He waited patiently for the bird to become more visible.

He gasped as a vortex flew straight past his hand and brushed his skin. Without warning, the bird was dead. It was a clean, painless death.

Li Chenyang leaned back suddenly. Seeing Xueyue standing on the saddle, he gasped in shock. She used the trust between her and the horse to stand directly on the saddle. When she was standing, she was taller than Li Chenyang who was sitting on the horse.

When the bird fell, people cheered and applauded, thinking that Li Chenyang had shot it down.
