After the doctor left, Yu Zhen ordered the servants to bring breakfast. The food was served quickly, as no one dared to leave them hungry. After a happy meal, the tonic was cooked and served to Li Xueyue.

"It looks a bit bitter." Yu Zhen said. He picked up the teacup and looked at the spicy drink.

"Really? I can't tell." Li Xueyue said. She watched him blow on his drink to cool her down.

Yu Zhen raised an eyebrow, "I'm helping you, and you're mocking me?"

"But I didn't ask you for help," she snapped, suddenly irritated by his question. She took the cup from him and put it down.

It didn't take a second for her to regret her abrupt attitude.

Li Xueyue turned her hand over and exposed her palm. "What if my fingers get burned?" she said worriedly.

She traced the highlighted lines with her index finger, knowing what they meant.

Yu Zhen raised an eyebrow, "It's not a cup of tea that can hurt me."

Li Xueyue nodded. She squeezed his hand and admired his bulging veins. The guilt was gone. He didn't seem to notice her anger. She was happy.

"You need this." Yu Zhen put something into his mouth. It tasted sweet, but sour when he bit it.

Li Xueyue recognized the taste of prunes.

"Thank you," she said, sucking on the fruit.

She held her breath, brought the cup to her lips, and drank it all in one gulp. By then, the tonic had cooled considerably. The taste was too strong. The plums were no longer sweet. There was a bitter taste on her tongue.

Li Xueyue put down the teacup with a wry smile. At least there was only one cup now.

"If you don't want to drink, then don't drink." Yu Zhen didn't like seeing her in such pain. Especially since she had to drink every morning and evening.

“We can hold off for a few months,” he added. “Because we can’t be sure whether you’re infertile.”

Li Xueyue shook her head. "It's okay. I'll just treat it as a tonic drink that's good for both of us."

"It does me no good to see you suffer." Yu Zhen turned to look at the maid standing in the corner of the room, waiting for further instructions.

"From now on, you will no longer be allowed to bring tonics—"

“I wish I could drink this every morning and night.”

Yu Zhen turned his head and looked at her, "Why are you so disobedient?"

She quipped, “A wife is not something that can be tamed.”

Li Xueyue understood how lucky she was to meet such an understanding person. Many times, her words might have earned her a hard slap in the face. She touched his hand, which was clenched into a fist.

"Please don't worry about me, I'm fine—"

"I'll stop when you stop."

Li Xueyue frowned, "This is not fair."

Yu Zhen sneered, "Everything in this world is unfair, starting from birth."

Li Xueyue stroked his knuckles with her thumb. There were tiny scars on them, probably left by a fight. She felt heartbroken when she thought of his injured body.

"You know what I mean," she said in a low, somber voice.

Yu Zhen grabbed her chin and lifted it up. He didn't like seeing her with her head down. "Because you don't worry about yourself, I'll do it for you. Just like you did it for me."

Li Xueyue clenched his hand tightly, feeling mixed emotions, with a lump in her throat and unable to speak.

Yu Zhen touched the back of her head and said, "So, don't reject my advice, just like I listen to yours."

"You're being unfair again," she muttered, her lower lip pouting.

Yu Zhen's hand moved to the side of her face. She thought he would touch her face. But he pulled her face, testing the elasticity of her skin.

"You already know my answer, Sunshine."

Li Xueyue pushed his hand away and rubbed the painful area, which would soon turn into an annoying red.

"Don't you have better things to do than tease me so early in the morning?" she said, standing up.

Li Xueyue had been wearing pajamas for too long, and the afternoon was approaching quickly, and it was not a good idea for her to wander around in a simple nightgown.

Yu Zhen stared at her. If she knew, she had been teasing him from the moment she woke up. He was always tortured by her. Her rosy lips - sweet and luscious - her natural curves, soft and smooth... She didn't do anything, and he was already hard.

"I'm tired."

"You still have the energy to argue with me, Sunshine."

"Yes, but-"

"Don't worry, honey. Leave this matter to me."

Li Xueyue wanted to protest, but he sealed her lips, and at the same time sealed her fate.

Li Xueyue didn't realize she had fallen asleep until she woke up and found herself lying naked on the bed. She turned her head tiredly and found him next to her.

The setting sun shone on his perfect features, casting unforgettable shadows on his face. His eyelashes were long and beautiful, just like the rest of his body.

"You are a beast, my dear husband."

Li Xueyue touched his chin carefully. How could he be so handsome? After just one look, she felt like she fell in love with him all over again.

She wondered to herself, "Why do I sleep so well when I'm with you?"

Yu Zhen didn't answer, but the regular rise and fall of his chest showed that he was still sleeping.

Li Xueyue smiled triumphantly, knowing that she was right. He was finally tired enough not to be woken by any sound or movement. She remembered that he was a light sleeper.

She turned her head to look at the open window. After a thorough sex, they slept all afternoon.

He treated her roughly even though she said she was tired. She didn't complain because it was so pleasant.

"I'll go get some snacks," she told him, even though he couldn't hear her.

Li Xueyue tried to get up from the bed, but failed. He held her with great strength.

She tried to pull away. Within a second, he was moving.

Li Xueyue was stunned for a moment. She didn't want to wake him up. Yu Zhen always went to bed the latest and got up the earliest. She hoped he could sleep a little longer and have a good rest.

"Are you awake?" she whispered.

A soft snore came in response.

Li Xueyue breathed a sigh of relief. She tried to move again. But to no avail. He moved with her body.

"Okay, you win," she finally said angrily, deciding to continue in this position.

If Li Xueyue dares to move again, who knows what the consequences will be... It will definitely make him wake up instantly.
