Reborn Daughter: The Young Lady Wants to Make a Trouble

Li Xueyue thought she was joking. She really thought so. Until the sun began to rise from the horizon, and the black hue turned into a light blue.

"Don't you have a lot of work today?" Li Xueyue muttered.

She was tired, but she could still keep her eyes open. It was a different kind of tiredness, one she hadn't known was possible.

Yu Zhen shook his head. He could just take a three-week break now, and everything would be fine. There were advantages and problems with being so ahead at work. He was slowly becoming addicted to work.

"I have all day to spend with you."

Li Xueyue rested her head on his strong chest. He held her with one arm and stroked the back of her head with the other. She drew circles on his skin with her fingers, and she was fascinated by his smooth skin. His skin was tanned and had a healthy glow.

"What are you thinking about?" he whispered.

Li Xueyue was a little dazed, looking elsewhere, but his attention was always on her and nothing else.

"How is it?" he asked. She remained silent. His voice was so soft that he wondered if she was asleep. But her subtle movements showed otherwise.

"I don't know why I started talking nonsense so early in the morning. Maybe it's because I didn't sleep well the night before."

Yu Zhen narrowed his eyes. This was an excuse. He saw through her.

"What makes you think that?" he said with some bitterness.

Li Xueyue couldn’t read his emotions. Maybe he did it on purpose. She couldn’t even see his face. She didn’t know if he was angry because of the news. This was her assumption, but who would be happy because of the news of infertility?

"Did the doctor tell you?"

Li Xueyue rested her chin on his shoulder. She closed her eyes and told herself to cherish this moment. This might be her last.

"No. I don't think he checked it either."

"This kind of thing is hard to check." Yu Zhen realized that he was shaking.

Her shaking fingers wrapped around his shoulders again. He just held her tighter, refusing to let go. If he did, something would break.

If anyone spread such false information, he would surely suffer the most brutal death. Fortunately, the imperial physician just saved his life...at least, for now.

"So what gave you that idea?" he asked, albeit rudely.

Li Xueyue’s fingers dug deep into his body. She needed to control herself, but a sense of melancholy came over her. What if she never saw the child in Yu Zhen’s arms? What if they never had the chance to become parents? What would happen then?

Yu Zhen hugged her tighter until there was no space between them. "Everything will be fine, Sunshine. Just breathe."

Li Xueyue couldn't continue speaking. She closed her eyes tightly, hoping that the atmosphere between them would not be so depressing. However, she also blamed herself for saying such words.

"There must be other signs of infertility," he assured her. "I'll call the doctor if you want."

"I don't want to see him..."

“Then we won’t do it.”

Li Xueyue felt that she was being a little selfish and immediately regretted it, "Actually... please invite him."

"Xueyue..."

Li Xueyue swallowed. He rarely called her name unless they were in a serious conversation or when he was angry.

“Together we will overcome this obstacle.”

Li Xueyue buried her face in the crook of his neck. If she was really beaten to the point of being unable to have children...

She wanted to see him happy. She wanted him to experience the joy of fatherhood. It was too painful to see him struggle with her. It was too painful to see him grow old and feeble without a child, without an heir of his own.

"You're overthinking it again."

"I do not have."

Yu Zhen sneered, “I can almost feel your pressure increasing by the second.”

Yu Zhen always felt something was strange. She was so strong in front of others, but she was very gentle when facing him. What was her true side like? Was she a docile lamb? Or was she the glare of a tigress?

He couldn’t remember her ever being weak in public. Li Xueyue always acted strong and proud. Confidence flowed from her in waves. Yet, now in his arms, she shrank back and was afraid.

Was this the only side of herself she showed him?

Yu Zhen began to touch the back of her head again. He had never been good at speaking, and comforting people was not his forte. From childhood to adulthood, he had never experienced the comfort of his parents.

"Even if you do this, I won't blame you." He couldn't help but blurt out.

She hugged him tighter, unable to utter a word.

Yu Zhen didn't care. He continued to stroke the back of her head, and he would do so as long as she needed him.
