Reborn Daughter: The Young Lady Wants to Make a Trouble
Chapter 291 Leading by Example
Days passed, and soon, the day of the coronation finally arrived. As they had discussed a few days ago, no one was more important than the emperor, queen, and prince.
There was no debate in the family about who would be the crown prince. The title fell to Li Chenyang without hesitation.
Entire streets of the capital were lined with celebratory flags. The mourning colors of black and white had long been stripped away, replaced by bright colors of yellow, red, and white. Citizens took days off from work and daily chores just to catch a glimpse of the founder of the new Ly Dynasty.
"Oh my god, I see them now!"
"Where where?"
"over there!"
As the golden carriage passed through the streets, screams and cheers could be heard from miles away. The carriage curtains were drawn back and the Lee family waved to greet people. The noise was deafening and people rushed to look at the Lee family.
Who thinks that the Prime Minister is the man behind the country's achievements? The ruler behind the curtain no longer needs to hide his face. It is his turn to sit on the throne created for him.
The deeds of the former royal family have spread far and wide. The people's representatives who belong to the middle-class wealth have surpassed themselves. As promised, they spread the wrongdoings of the Wang family in the community.
Some people whispered that Wuyi was flourishing because of the prime minister's innovative ideas. These rumors spread faster than the newspapers detailing the Li family's contributions. Before long, many people immediately began to support the new royal family.
"The stairs leading to the palace from here suddenly seem more dangerous." Li Xueyue whispered to Li Minghua who was standing beside her.
Li Minghua nodded, but it was hard to move her head. Her neck hurt from all the accessories crammed into her overly complicated hairstyle.
Her clothes were also heavy and dragged on the ground when she walked, but her mother's condition was even worse.
The view of Queen Chil-sung was magnificent. She was in a whirlwind of red, white and gold. They were the colors of the country and she wore it with pride.
Even with all the ornaments on her head, neck, and wrists, she still maintained an extremely elegant posture. After all, the queen is the mother of the country. She must set an example for every woman in the kingdom.
"Dad came first, then Mom, then Chenyang, Wenmin, and finally, it was our turn." Li Minghua whispered. "Why am I not surprised?"
Li Xueyue's mouth twitched in agreement. "We are daughters, not sons. Twins will always be praised first, but we shouldn't compare ourselves with them."
Li Minghua nodded slowly. Her eyes were fixed on the backs of her brothers. Li Chenyang wore bold navy blue and silver as the colors of the sky, while Li Wenmin embodied the prosperous earth with emerald green and gold clothing.
"It looks so close, yet so far..." Li Minghua's voice trailed off. "I hope nothing has changed between them."
"No." Li Xueyue said firmly. "Wenmin didn't want to inherit the throne from the beginning."
Li Xueyue wanted to look up, but she couldn't. Everything was too heavy, but she forced herself to look up, even if it hurt her neck.
She glanced in time to witness their father take the first step up the massive staircase. The red, white, and gold banners flickered before them. The sun shone brightly on the new royals, their accessories adding a heavenly glow to their figures.
The color of the clothes Li Xueyue wore was darker than those of the emperor and the empress.
Her hanfu had hundreds of layers, all meant to create the illusion of heavenly clouds. Pearls were sewn into wisps of white fabric, and flowers fluttered from her skirt like cherry blossom petals in a spring breeze, heralding summer to come.
"You look like spring and summer," Li Minghua said thoughtfully. "And I represent autumn and winter. We have seasons, but the twins represent the most important parts of this world - the sky and the earth."
Li Xueyue smiled. "Without seasons, the world cannot prosper." She found it interesting that this was one of the first times they had a conversation without arguing. Perhaps all this was just a cover to show people how stable this family was.
As everyone climbed the stairs leading to the main entrance, they looked around and saw soldiers everywhere.
Some blended into the crowd, while others lined the stairs. It wasn't until she reached the top of the stairs and looked back that she realized just how many people there were in the kingdom.
"Wow," she whispered when she saw so many people gathered.
"Keep your eyes forward," Li Minghua instructed. "Father is climbing the last steps to the palace."
Li Xueyue turned around and saw this scene. She felt as if the air in her body was sucked out.
The Second Emperor Li Shenyang stepped onto the small steps leading to the imperial palace, and a strong wind blew through the woods.
The branches of the trees were shaking wildly, but nothing could be more striking than what was happening before their eyes. Flags were flying from the pillars that reached the highest point of the palace.
The letters were big, bold, and proudly displayed. The symbol, the design, everything had changed—for the better.
These flags marked the beginning of the Le Dynasty. Flags that solidified their rule. Flags meant they didn't have to hide in the shadows with the spotlight stolen from them.
For the Li family, nothing is more important than this moment. Until now, the Li family has felt it - the joyful eyes of the ancestors in the sky, praising and celebrating their victory.
"Long live the Emperor Wuyi, the man of Amaterasu will make his country immortal!"
"Praise Queen Wuyi, the mother of the motherland, she who wields the scales of justice!"
Nothing could be heard except the rustling of clothes. Sleeves flapped rhythmically as each man knelt. They all kowtowed to the new emperor with their foreheads touching the ground.
My heart was racing and my stomach was churning, but it was over. The Wang Dynasty was officially over. The old had made way for the new.
Li Xueyue was speechless for a moment. What was everyone thinking at this moment? Everyone in the country knelt in front of them. She looked up at the sky, where sparrows flew by and clouds swayed.
This is undoubtedly an event worth remembering. It will be recorded in the history books of every century to come.
