Duchess Wang Qixing was speechless. Seeing her daughter, who might have died, was too much for her to bear.

"Mother!" Li Xueyue gasped. Duchess Wang Qixing took one look at Li Minghua and fainted.

“Mother?” Li Minghua sneered. “What qualifications do you have to say such things?”

Li Xueyue ignored the boy in front of her. She supported the weight of the Duchess with her body, and the servants came forward to help.

Li Wenmin was stunned when he saw Minghua, not realizing that his mother had collapsed. He also did not hear the rude words that came out of Minghua's mouth.

Li Chenyang rushed to help Xueyue. He helped his mother up to prevent her from slipping on the floor and getting herself dirty. "Dad, please help me."

King Li Chenyang didn't need anyone to tell him at all. He had already approached his wife and suddenly grabbed her off her feet. He knew that Minghua's sudden appearance shocked everyone, but he had a problem to solve.

"Take her to the living room, I will take your mother to the bedroom first and let her rest." King Li Chenyang ordered.

"No, I want to take a shower." Li Minghua handed the veil to a stunned servant.

No one believed their eyes. Not even the servants who had worked here as long as they could remember.

"Excellently?" Li Minghua said, and saw a familiar face standing next to her mother. "Ah Jingxia!" She called out when she saw it was the head maid. "You still remember how I took a bath, right? Get ready as usual."

Jingxia couldn't believe that this woman was Li Minghua, but her tone and attitude were the same as before. Instantly, she bowed. "Right away, Miss."

Li Minghua smiled sweetly at her. "That's great," she clapped her hands. "At least there's someone competent enough to talk to me instead of just standing there like a fool."

Li Xueyue knew that Minghua's attitude was questionable, but such behavior simply... made her speechless. But later, Xueyue knew that this was a typical behavior of aristocrats. The only striking thing about Minghua was the clumsy way she walked, with her shoulders slightly hunched, as if she lacked confidence in the world.

When Li Minghua passed by Wenmin, she patted his shoulder. "Long time no see, dear brother—" Before she finished her words, he grabbed her and hugged her tightly.

Li Minghua's shocked expression softened a little. She patted his back gently and returned his hug. "I missed you so much," she whispered.

"Is it really you, Minghua?" Li Wenmin asked with tears in his eyes. He was choking with emotion, and his chest swelled with disbelief and pure relief. "Xiao Hua, I am not dreaming, am I?"

Li Xueyue glanced at the floor and realized that the nickname she had given her was very similar to Minghua. She felt like she had intruded into a special moment, even though Chenyang was excluded.

Li Minghua showed the crooked smile he once loved so much. "Wenmin, you are really a fool. Of course it's me, who else could it be?"

"But the fire..." Li Wenmin's voice trailed off. "I thought you were dead in there. If your face was intact, why did you wear the veil? Why didn't you try to contact me, and then-"

"You talk too much." Li Minghua chuckled. She touched her shoulder and pulled down her clothes to reveal the burn mark. Then she rolled up the sleeve on the same side, allowing the burn mark to extend all the way to her elbow.

"At least my money-making face wasn't burned," Li Minghua said. "But one side of my body wasn't spared."

"What about the veil? Why are you wearing it?" Li Wenmin asked eagerly. "You know it's me in the guest palace. You can grab me or do anything to get my attention. I will take you home."

He glanced at Chen Yang. "Everyone has been in Beijing for two years. Dad and Chen Yang were both in court. During this time, you could have told us that you were still alive--"

"I hide my identity to protect you," Li Minghua said. "If I disappear from the Second Prince's side, the Queen will reveal her secrets to us."

"Second Prince?" Li Wenmin was angry. "You are a Li people. How dare the Wang family demote you to a slave? These damn bastards, I knew I should join the war. If--"

"You're too excited," Li Minghua said. "I'm tired and dirty. I want to take a shower. Then, if I'm in the mood, maybe I'll talk to you."

Li Wenmin hesitated whether to separate from her. He was afraid that all this was a cruel nightmare. He thought she would disappear again. If he let her go now, what if she never came back? This thought alone was enough to break his heart again.

Li Minghua knew what he was thinking. "Don't worry," she said with a gentle smile. "This is not a dream, it's really me."

"Well, then, can you please come to the living room? We have a lot to discuss." Li Wenmin said finally. "Please?"

Li Minghua sighed. She pushed his arm away from her and gave him a stern look. "Why can't we talk tomorrow? I'm tired and hungry, and obviously not in the mood to talk."

Li Wenmin was already used to her temper. "Okay, okay, we can solve this problem tomorrow--"

"No." Li Chenyang interrupted, grabbing Minghua's shoulders angrily. "You little guy," he said through gritted teeth. "You haven't changed at all?"

"And you're still the mean brother I hoped I'd never have again!" Li Minghua shook his hand off. "Don't touch me."

Li Chenyang was relieved at first, but now that she was in front of him, he couldn't appreciate her presence at all. "Do you know how happy I am to see you? I am just as worried about you as Wenmin is. I miss you so much, but why are you still such a brat?"

"Try serving the royal family for two years!" she screamed. "You try to dine with your enemies, bow to them, smile for them. If you haven't been in my shoes, then don't you dare judge me, you damned hypocrite."

Li Xueyue covered her mouth with her hand to prevent herself from breathing.

"Chen Yang, you think you are better than me, but to be honest, you are not. You are the biggest brat in the family, but you hide it better than I do. However, there are always times when you behave the worst." "When it comes to losing your temper, you are worse than me." Li Minghua said angrily.

"Let's go, Jingxia." Li Minghua stomped his feet and walked into the house.

The maid was disappointed to see that the young lady had not changed at all. But what else could she expect? She suppressed a sigh and bowed to the other children of the Li family.

"Jingxia?" Li Chenyang said in a low voice, and Li Minghua's figure disappeared at the end of the corridor.

"Really, young master?" Jingxia responded.

Li Chenyang approved of the forty-something maid. He bent down and whispered, "Make sure she doesn't go to other parts of the house. Keep this order secret from my parents."

Jingxia was torn by the last sentence, but she still lowered her head. "I will do my best, Master."

Li Chenyang nodded. He raised his head and met Xueyue's inquiring gaze. He leaned closer to Jingxia's ear. "Also, I don't care what the cost, but make sure Minghua never goes near Xueyue's bedroom or her wing. Do you understand?"

"I understand, young master." Jingxia bowed and said.

"Okay." Li Chenyang sighed. He straightened up and nodded in the corridor. "You can leave now."

Jingxia didn't need to be told a second time. She hurried away.

Although Jinxia wanted to take care of the Duchess, she knew this matter was more important. She was present when the Duchess gave birth to Li Minghua. Jinxia was there to witness the Duchess' struggle as she rejected all wet nurses and nannies to breastfeed and raise her daughter only for herself.
