As soon as breakfast started, for the first time ever, no braised eggs were offered, and a slow conversation began.

Prince Li Chenyang looked at Li Wenmin's dejected look and chuckled in his heart. He felt sorry for his favorite dish. He chose to ignore Li Wenmin's gloomy eyes. Instead, the prince focused his attention on Li Xueyue.

"Chen Yang must have pointed out the problems with your business plan, right?" Li Chenyang said openly.

Last night, King Li Chenyang briefly told his wife all about it. Of course, he left out some suspicious parts, such as bribing pirates and workers. For Li Xueyue, he had summarized it in the most sugar-coated way. Although his wife was naughty, she was too paranoid about things, and he didn't want her to think too much about every little thing.

For the Duke, her only role in this family is to be pampered, live a luxurious life, and live a carefree life.

"Well, we had a brief chat on the way here. Did he mention King Wenxuan's third son, Wen Qihong?" Li Xueyue responded.

King Li Chenyang nodded slowly. "An interesting choice, but not surprising. He has always wanted to impress his father. If all goes well, and he is able to run the business according to your instructions, perhaps he will set a good example for King Wen."

King Li Chenyang took a sip of tea, and a comfortable smile appeared on his face. Thank God, the nauseating bitter tea finally stopped. Does this mean that his wife is no longer angry with him?

"Oh, I've heard about Wen Qihong's big story." Duchess Wen Qixing was in high spirits, her eyes shining. She was almost calculating the possibility of Li Xueyue and Wen Qihong being a matchmaker. If Yu Zhen failed, there was still Plan B...

"It is said that he has a good temper, not at all like his brothers. And most importantly -"

"My dear, I really hope you won't be a matchmaker anymore?" King Li Chenyang started to speak, but she snorted and laughed even more happily before continuing to eat.

"Well, as for Wen Qihong, I do appreciate the choice, but aren't you two interested in a 'foreign investor' whose identity can be kept secret? Wen Qihong is quite famous," he pointed out. "And he's a little... naive."

Li Xueyue nodded slowly. "I think it's OK without foreign investors. Maybe Wen Qihong's fame will increase his credibility?"

"It will also damage his reputation. The Bai family will find a way to pull down his fake documents." Lord Li Chenyang raised an eyebrow. "Although it is easy to draft a fake decree, who can say that the Viscount will not request an audience with the emperor to prove its credibility?"

Li Xueyue blinked in surprise. "Well, in that case, maybe the plan needs to be changed."

Li Chenyang snorted, resting his chin on his supporting arm. "In this case, we may really have to find a foreign investor. Once everything is settled, we can easily return to our kingdom."

"Or you can take out the fake imperial edict and make it into a real one, but don't set a fixed royalty rate." Li Chenyang said thoughtfully. "That would make things less complicated."

"Maybe so, but do we really have to continue supporting the Bai family?" Li Chenyang said with thin lips.

“We don’t have to specify a time span for the royal family,” Li said. “We can offer them a high percentage to convince them to sell the business, but we won’t continue to offer them anything for the rest of their lives.”

"Yes, a high percentage is persuasive, especially because they will think it is for the eternity of the business." Duke Li Chenyang said thoughtfully. "Or, you can buy all the rights to the business."

Li Chenyang raised his eyebrows. "But what about seeing their frustrated expressions when they realize they were deceived by us?"

"You've already been cheated by letting Wen Qihong buy the entire business at a low price. Besides, not many people will expect him to pay royalties. What's the point, especially when the business is like this?" Li Chenyanggong retorted.

Meanwhile, Li Wenmin was eating in a daze. Whenever he heard anything that was not related to politics, he always turned a deaf ear. He was too lazy to think well in the morning. He yawned and chewed the chicken quietly, eagerly hoping to see a maid come out with a plate of braised eggs.

"Oh." Li Xueyue blinked.

"It's better to go back and revise the plan and proceed according to what we discussed today." Wang Li Chenyang said to Li Xueyue. He said to Li Chenyang: "You can start the first phase of the plan."

Li Chenyang nodded, and secretly instructed a servant to run errands for him later.

"And, Xueyue." Li Wang Chenyang turned to face her and said, "Have you ever thought about reading The Art of War? You may find it very helpful."

"No, no. Isn't this just a tactic?"

"Then it's time to start reading. Many of the lessons in it can be applied to real life." Li Chenyanggong suggested. "I'll give you the one in my library."

"It's okay, I don't mind looking for it myself." Li Xueyue said, the large library in this room was vivid in her mind. Compared with the library, she prefers to read in her room.

Li Xueyue found it too claustrophobic to be surrounded by so many books at once, especially when she had to focus on just one book at a time. Her short attention span meant she often jumped from one thing to another. It was hard for her to think straight if she was bombarded with too many things at once.

"If you have any difficulties, you know where to find me." King Li Chenyang took another sip of tea and said. He found that the weather had turned cold.

After finishing the second serving of rice, Li Wenmin finally spoke. "What's strange is that I didn't invite Xueyue to come today."

Li Chenyang's lips curled up into a small smile. "That's good. I never like reopening old wounds, but this does remind people of the lessons they should have learned."

Li Xueyue was confused by his words and ate quietly. She vaguely remembered Li Chenyang saying, "History should not repeat itself." With this sentence, the emperor finally stopped teasing her that day.

Is it related to Li Minghua? Did the emperor ever interfere in Li Minghua's life? Or was it a lack of intervention? Perhaps the queen intervened?

All these questions were slowly eating away at her, but she had no one to turn to for answers. All she could do was bite her tongue. Maybe... it would be a good idea to inform one of the twins of her diary discovery.

Duchess Wen Qixing was very curious about Li Chenyang's suggestive tone. "Which wound did you reopen...?"

The smile on Li Chenyang's face disappeared. He saw his father's warning look. "Don't worry, Mom."

"I always worry more when you don't tell me." She sighed. "Just answer me, I won't be angry."

"This is one of the emperor's weaknesses. I'm sure he wouldn't want me to tell his sister about this. Especially when you can... uh..." Li Chenyang had a hard time lying to her. "Uh, when can you make fun of him?"

Duchess Wang Qixing was even more confused now. "I know all the emperor's weaknesses. It's okay. Just tell me."

Lord Li Chenyang decided it was time to intervene. "My tea is getting cold, dear. For some reason, I miss your daily brew—"

"Be quiet, I'm talking to your son." She shut him up.

"Why is it my son who did the bad thing?" King Li Chenyang muttered.

"Because, my foolish husband, all his faults are yours. He has simply inherited all my perfections," she answered easily, blinking innocently as the Duke looked at her angrily.

“And you, instead, gave all of your badness to Li Wenmin,” Lord Li Chenyang retorted, only for the Duchess to roll her eyes, her conversation with Chenyang long forgotten.

"Is that how you tell yourself to get a good night's sleep every night?"

Li Wenmin looked at his parents in disbelief. "I just like the fact that none of you deny the fact that we inherited your bad qualities."

"Shh, baby, the adults are talking." Duchess Wang Qixing waved her hand.

"But moo!" Li Wenmin snorted, "We are all adults!"

Li Xueyue laughed. "You don't act like this."

"Well, someone has to be the cutest little bun in the family," Li Wenmin snorted.

Li Chenyang raised his eyebrows. "My dear brother, there is nothing 'cute' about you."

Li Wenmin stuck out her tongue at Li Chenyang and Li Xueyue, while the Duchess continued to joke. Li Xueyue was amused by the lively atmosphere, while Li Chenyang took a sip of his morning tea and found it funny.
