Reborn Daughter: The Young Lady Wants to Make a Trouble
Chapter 139: Full of Idiots
"Then let's make it clear." Li Chenyang said. "First, we hire pirates who will steal ships and cargo from ships with weak guards."
Li Xueyue nodded. “Yes, then we will contact those dissatisfied workers and pay them a high reward to make them dirty the goods.”
"How do we ensure they remain silent? Take hanging a big fish as an example?" Li Chenyang asked.
She shook her head. "No, we are more ethical than that. We will support their families by providing ways to send their children to school so that these workers will not think of snitching, or they will risk their families' comfortable lives. Among other things, we can double their wages."
Li Chenyang smiled slightly. She was moral enough not to sacrifice Xiaoyu.
“Next is step three, right?” He glanced at the parchment in his hand and read aloud, “Once the disgruntled merchants stop doing business with the Bai family, people will start gossiping, which will exacerbate the problems facing the Bai family’s port.”
Li Xueyue nodded calmly. "Nothing spreads faster than word of mouth."
"Good idea." Li Cheyang raised his eyebrows. "When their reputation is ruined and their business is torn to pieces, are we going to start dealing with that fake investor?"
Li Xueyue smiled and agreed. "Yes, once they have few or even no customers, we will send a representative to make a deal with them and acquire all their trading ships and businesses at a cheap price."
"Well, go ahead."
“The next part is the difficult part. We need a formal agreement drafted and stamped by the Emperor of Wuyi to make it appear legitimate. If it has the emperor’s approval, they will trust the agreement more, even though we are a foreign investor,” Li Xueyue explained.
Li Chenyang nodded. "I'll talk to my father about this and see what we can do, so once the official agreement is signed, we'll give them a fake agreement promising lifetime royalties, so the Bai family will think they're getting support from future generations without even having to put in any effort."
Li Xueyue sneered. "Yes, they will keep a fake copy. That copy will be stamped with the wrong seal. Even if they cry to the public, they will never be able to accuse us of this because our identities will be hidden."
Li Chenyang chuckled. "So, after obtaining all the copyrights, the second to last part of the plan is to improve the business?"
"Well, we will improve the business and make it profitable again. Once the net worth of the business increases, we can get a windfall by selling the business for a much higher price than when we bought it. Once we reach that point, the Bai family will be completely ruined." Li Xueyue concluded, turning her head to look out the window. Their discussion lasted for a long time, and the sun had begun to set.
Li Chenyang slowly clapped for her, a curious look on his face. "So, this is what you spend your free time doing."
Li Xueyue nodded slowly, anticipating his reaction. She had revealed her darkest plans and secrets to him. How would he view her now?
"Are you sure this will do us any good?"
She nodded again. "If you look at the parchment again, you'll see arrows indicating where things might go wrong and how to correct them. Almost every problem I could think of has a solution."
Li Chenyang took another look at the parchment. As she said, it contained potential conflicts and solutions. A satisfied smile appeared on his lips, and his eyes sparkled with pride.
“Your overthinking actually came in handy,” he joked.
Li Chenyang returned the parchment to her.
Li Xueyue folded the parchment until it was only as small as two fingers, a thick, inconspicuous little thing. "This is a double-edged sword." She smiled at him, her eyes sparkling.
She had expected him to reject her plan, but he seemed to agree.
"The first step can be taken soon. I will send people to search the taverns frequented by sailors. Once the weekend comes, I will deal with them." Li Chenyang placed his warm hand on the top of her head, looked down at her, and smiled proudly.
He didn't think she had the ability to be so smart. He underestimated her. She was born for greatness.
"And in return," he said, his face becoming serious again. "You will not step into the dangerous area of the capital, understand? The first step is entirely left to me, no one else, understand?"
Li Xueyue nodded immediately. "Of course."
"Okay, these sailors are not friendly to women." Li Chenyang patted her head, but she pursed her lower lip.
"Why do you and Brother Wen like to touch the top of my head like this?"
"He thinks it's cute. I think it's hilarious." His eyes sparkled, wanting to tease her but knowing she would fight back like an excited cat.
Li Xueyue chuckled, not believing his reasoning at all. She knew he liked to pat her head because it felt like patting a puppy. She thought it made him happy.
Everyone sat around the dining table, eating their usual home-cooked meal. There was a lot of discussion at the table, mainly from the energetic Li Wenmin, who chattered about his day.
“And because the soldiers trained hard today, I treated them to delicious snacks!” Li Wenmin exclaimed as he ate the food in big mouthfuls. Although he was greedy, he was still very careful about his behavior and always chewed with his mouth closed, although he would open his mouth to stuff food in.
Li Chenyang always thought it was a miracle that his brother rarely choked on food. "Are you sure you treated them well? Maybe you treated yourself well by doing the minimum."
"Uh-well, everybody has to eat! So, yes, I'm serving them, and-"
"Then who eats the most?" Li Chenyang looked at him fiercely, and Li Wenmin glared at him.
"Of course it's me! I've been the reigning food champion for years. No one can take my place!"
“I don’t think anyone would want to get this title.” Li Chenyang snickered. “It’s a miracle that you are not as round as the moon.”
“The funny thing is, my physique is still better than yours.” Li Wenmin snickered. “Even though I’ve eaten all the food.”
"I'm glad to see you admit that you eat like a pig." King Li Chenyang interjected, and when he saw Li Wenmin pout, he smiled.
"Dad, you should stand by me!" Li Wenmin wailed. He stuffed another large mouthful of food into his mouth.
"I will when you eat well. You will choke." King Li Chenyang shook his head and signaled the maid to pour more tea for the greedy young master.
Duchess Wang Qixing cried, wiping imaginary tears. "No one will marry my son and his big appetite, which is his other self!"
"It's as if someone wanted to marry him from the beginning." Li Chenyang sneered, looked at Li Xueyue who was choking on food, and forced himself to hold back his smile.
"I saw it, Xiaoyue! Don't laugh at me!" Li Wenmin wailed, and her chopsticks crossed with hers on the same plate.
Li Xueyue narrowed her eyes. They were going to fight for the last boiled egg again. She reached out to take it, but he skillfully used chopsticks like a sword to pierce the egg white and stabilize his egg.
"If it weren't true, I wouldn't laugh at you!" Li Xueyue exclaimed, reaching for the egg, but the chopsticks stuck in her chopsticks. Due to her interference, it slipped out of his chopsticks.
Her eyes lit up and she tried to steal the braised eggs, but he blocked her with chopsticks.
“Even the chefs in the palace may not be able to make enough food to fill you up!” Li Xueyue groaned as she refused to give up the fight for the last egg.
"No, Xiaoyue, give it to me! This is my favorite." Li Wenmin wailed and continued to use chopsticks as a weapon.
Duchess Wang Qixing shook her head, laughing at their childish behavior. "Kids, you can always split the eggs."
Li Wenmin quickly shook his head. "It can't be flat!"
King Li Chenyang raised an eyebrow. "Eating too many eggs is not good for either of you."
Li Chenyang sneered. "Yeah, it will make you stupid[1], which is not surprising for Li Wenmin who always monopolizes the eggs."
Just like that, the two stopped fighting over the egg, but both snorted at the same time.
Duchess Wang Qixing wanted to laugh again, with a gleam of joy in her eyes. "This reminds me, Chenyang, when you were a child, you always liked to eat chopped eggs. You ate eggs for every meal."
Li Chenyang's body stiffened and he turned his eyes away from the siblings.
"Aha! Who is the idiot now!" Li Wenmin shouted and pushed the plate in front of Li Chenyang.
"Anything." Li Chenyang rolled his eyes, picked up the egg and put it in Li Xueyue's bowl.
Li Xueyue smiled victoriously and showed the eggs in the bowl to Li Wenmin.
"Be careful, this will make you stupid." Li Wenmin snorted, pretending not to be tempted by the tempting dish.
“Oh, okay, then I’ll be a well-fed idiot.” Li Xueyue smiled brightly, picked up the egg and took a bite on his face.
Li Wenmin sat there with a wronged look on his face, and continued to stuff food into his mouth. "Xiaoyue, just wait, I'll eat all the braised eggs tomorrow!"
