The maids outside the door were talking a lot, but an angry shout completely shut them up.

"Are there any rules? Someone, drag these people out, pull out their tongues, and drive them out of the manor."

As the cries for mercy were heard, the air in the manor suddenly became much fresher.

"mother in law."

"Good morning, Bennett."

Mrs. Anna still had the familiar smile on her face. She was only 15 years old when she gave birth to Kenny. She is not yet 40 this year. She has maintained a very good figure and has almost no wrinkles on her face. She usually looks gentle. This is the first time that Bennett has witnessed her thundering methods.

"Good morning, mother-in-law, Aimee is in there."

"Well, I see."

After dispersing the maids who were gathering outside the door, the lady walked into the room with an old maid.

The weather was very good today. There was not a single cloud in the blue sky, and the sun shone on Bennett's feet. Unfortunately, the sun and his thin shirt did not bring him warmth, and the gloom in the corridor was somewhat chilling.

Not long after, Aimee's voice came from inside.

"Come in, Bennett."

Bennett pushed the door open and entered the room, but the scene inside made him turn around immediately.

The examination was not over yet. The red-haired girl was still bending over in humiliation, her legs trembling slightly. The vessel was still inside her body, and candles were placed in front of the mouth of the vessel. Her tears fell drop by drop, soaking her hanging red hair.

"Bennett, check to see if she's using any magic."

The lady's words were extremely cold, and Bennett already understood that she didn't like the red-haired girl, and Aimee would never do such a thing.

"I checked, no."

Apprentices do not have the ability to cast spells.

"Bennett, this involves the family's reputation. Have you looked at it carefully?"

Just as Bennett was about to reply, the voice came again: "Come over here, or I'll go get the wandering wizard outside."

Is this going to kill the girl?

Bennett turned to look at Aimee, who shook her head.

He walked over and squatted. The girl's body was trembling slightly. There was no need to cover up. What dignity did the girl have? She pretended to check it. Bennett looked at the lady and answered solemnly: "I checked it carefully. There is no trace of magic."

The lady nodded and pulled out the vessel roughly. A strand of crystal was pulled out long, and a piercing pain came over her. The girl groaned, but it was a pity that it was not over yet. Right in front of Bennett, the old maid put two fingers in and stirred it around.

The girl gritted her teeth and groaned in pain, her slender and fragile body trembling continuously.

Bennett turned his head away. The scene was really embarrassing.

The old maid's fingers were stained with blood and she nodded to the lady.

The lady was completely satisfied and stood up and left the room.

What innocence is there? What innocence is there now?

Why is this so? Bennett looked at his wife who was leaving. She was young and beautiful, not inferior to Aimee at all, but she and Aimee had different approaches.

The scene before her was a mess. She no longer had the strength to do so, and she didn't make any move to cover it up. What else was there to cover up?

Aimee lowered her skirt and picked up the girl. Bennett shook the roses on the bed to the ground. The red roses in the girl's hand fell to the ground, and only a few withered flowers were left in her hand. Those were the flowers she and Kenny exchanged at their wedding. Unfortunately, the white roses she gave had long been thrown into an unknown corner by Kenny.

The wet red hair covered the girl's eyes, and Bennett and Aimee looked at each other in silence.

"If you have any problems in the future, you can tell me and I will help you."

I don’t know if the girl took Aimee’s words into account.

With a sigh, Aimee motioned for Bennett to leave the room, then turned and left the room first.

Bennett covered the girl with a blanket and turned to leave.

"Can I see Master Mervyn?"

This should be the girl’s last obsession.

Looking back at the red-haired girl that exuded a dead look, Bennett knew what she was going to do, but he just couldn't say no.

"You should have a good rest first, I will take you there in the afternoon."

"Thank you."

When I opened the door, Aimee was waiting outside.

"I asked the maid to bring breakfast. I'll bring the food in later and then we'll leave."

After clicking, Bennett and Aimee waited outside the door together.

The maids brought the cold breakfast. Bennett stretched out his hand and cast a spell, and the food became hot again. Aimee entered the room carrying the tray.

Aimee came out with no joy on her face.

"how's it going?"

Aimee shook her head.

In silence, the two of them headed back to their room.

Bennett wanted to ask several times on the way, but he couldn't open his mouth.

Aimee noticed Bennett's dilemma and guessed his doubts in an instant.

"More than half of the population in our territory was purchased. They came from the Red Pavilion's plunder in the mother territory."

"What about the lady's territory?"

"My mother's family has been destroyed."

Bennett was completely silent. Didn't the Grand Duke Rose know that he was pushing his daughter into the fire pit? He probably knew. What he wanted was Helen's hatred. Mermaids' food was not men at first, but the deception from the mainland made them hate humans deeply. Now there are no mermaids for sale on the mainland.

The two returned to the room and no longer had the heart to flirt. Aimee lay on the bed reading a book, while Bennett studied spells on a chair. Whether they paid attention to the knowledge in front of them or not, perhaps only they themselves knew.

"Bennett, do you think Helen will become an enemy of the territory?"

The image of that bleak red hair flashed through Bennett's mind and he shook his head.

"will not."

"Help her, Bennett."

"I will."

In the blink of an eye, it was noon. The lunch for the two was extremely sumptuous. The servant said that this was specially arranged by the lady. The hot steam from the food filled the room with fragrance, but the two had no appetite.

After eating a few bites, Bennett stood up and put on his coat.

"I'll take Helen to the wizard. You eat first."

Aimee nodded and took Bennett's portion. After all, she was an extraordinary knight and had a very big appetite. It seemed that she had increased her appetite recently. Bennett didn't think much about it. Being able to eat was a blessing.

I came to the dim room again and knocked on the door.

"Please come in."

The girl in the room had changed her wedding dress into a blue long skirt, and the breakfast tray was still on the small table. Bennett felt angry. These maids were too snobbish.

"I'll ask them to bring lunch."

"No, I don't have an appetite."

There was no luster in the girl's eyes. It was obvious that she had tried her best to dress herself up, but state of mind is something that is reflected in the heart, not in the appearance.

Looking at the girl's dead and resolute eyes, Bennett knew that she had no hope. No matter how talented she was, the wizard would not risk teaching her in this state. The magic would completely devour her humanity.

Bennett nodded to the girl and led the way out of the room.

"Have you heard? That woman was deflowered by an old vulture."

"Still in front of the mage."

"It's what she deserves. All women in the Rose family deserve this fate."

……

The maids' rumors were full of malicious intent. Bennett wanted to step forward and tell them to shut up, but Helen behind him grabbed his sleeve.

"Don't embarrass me again, please."

The voice was choked, slightly hoarse, a little angry, but mostly pleading.

Sighing, Bennett didn't look back at Helen. He let her pull his sleeve and took her to the carriage.
