Chapter 15 Another wave occurs
Unlike the relaxed atmosphere in the headmaster's office after the two reached a consensus, the medical wing fell into cold darkness. Draco had his eyes closed, looking very abnormal, as if he had fallen into a coma.
Without Mrs. Poppy noticing, a strange black shadow "floated" towards the bed where the Malfoy brothers and sisters were.
Alicia's body stiffened the moment the shadow stepped into the medical wing, and she tried her best to pretend to be asleep.
Fortunately, she was so scared today that she begged Draco to sleep in the same bed with her. The girl held her brother's hand tightly, feeling his body temperature and feeling relieved - Draco was fine.
At the same time, the breath of death from the black shadow enveloped her, a smell of decay and blood.
Alicia's heart was beating fast. She could only force herself to calm down and analyze the purpose of the visitor.
Was it Quirrell? Or his undiscovered accomplice? Whose orders were they receiving?
The wand had already warned her when the man first came nearby. If a wizard who could ignore Madam Poppy and sneak into the hospital wing wanted to kill her, she would not be alive now.
Thinking of this, Alicia slowly opened her eyes, and immediately met a pair of eyes that seemed to be smiling but not smiling - it was indeed Quirrell.
The man sneered with an ambiguous tone and said in a hoarse voice: "The little girl from the Malfoy family."
The voice seemed to come from behind him, but she was sure that Quirrell was the only outsider here.
Alicia was frightened and broke out in a cold sweat. She glanced at Mrs. Bobby's busy figure inconspicuously and wisely did not ask for help - Quirrell used a spell to isolate this small area from the outside world.
"Professor Quirrell..." The girl didn't dare to move her hands, for she was worried that her action of pulling out her wand would be seen as a provocation.
Severus told her that the Death Eaters were a group of lunatics, and no one knew what illogical thing they would do next.
Quirrell was very satisfied with the girl's obedience, but there seemed to be a hint of disappointment and disdain in his eyes.
"Tell your father, little girl." The strange voice reached the girl's ears again, "What the Dark Lord handed to him is extremely important. It is the first step for him to atone for his sins."
Alicia was a little frightened, cold sweat had already flowed down her neck to her back, she seemed to hear the devil's whispers.
She pulled the corners of her mouth with great effort, trying to make herself look less panicked: "I will convey every word I said tonight to my father."
"Don't try to tell this to anyone except your father. You don't want to know the consequences." Quirrell casually cast a spell at the girl. It seemed to be a one-sided contract magic - the informer would pay with his life.
Alicia watched as a white light penetrated her body, and when she looked up again, there was no one there.
She sat on the bed blankly, shaking uncontrollably.
The girl clearly felt the feeling of having a brush with death, a feeling she had never experienced before when facing the giant monster.
If it was a killing curse, she would lose her life before she even had time to be surprised.
That person was definitely not Quirrell. Even if the stuttering professor was pretending to be timid, he could not give people such a feeling of despair and aggression.
Alicia didn't dare to think any further. She let the moonlight flow over her and sat there for half the night.
Draco and Madam Poppy fell into a real sleep after Quirrell left. If Severus hadn't been on night patrol today, it would have been impossible for his father and mother to be here.
She endured the torture of fear alone until the sky turned pale and she could no longer hold on and fell on the pillow.
It's dawn now and no strange things will happen anymore. Thinking this, the girl finally fell asleep.
"Thea, Thea, wake up!"
Alicia carefully identified the source of the anxious and worried voice, but before she could see the person's face, she was forced to close her eyes.
Alicia's fever wouldn't go away and she hadn't shown any sign of waking up all day.
Snape used magic to check the girl's physical condition, and after receiving an affirmative look from Dumbledore, he concluded that she was placed under a confidentiality spell last night.
Not only Alicia, but Draco was also hit by a stunning spell.
Two students were attacked in a row at Hogwarts, and Dumbledore got angry for the first time and ordered a thorough investigation of the matter. The person behind the scenes not only gave Malfoy a warning, but also slapped Hogwarts in the face.
Professor Quirrell, who was the focus of attention, did not seem to have any abnormalities, and his wand did not emit those two spells.
This did not dispel Dumbledore's suspicion of him. He looked sharply into Quirrell's eyes and said seriously, "As the professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts, you will surely teach students how to protect themselves in the next course, right?"
Quirrell nodded timidly, looking very innocent.
However, when he returned to the office, he was completely different.
"Master, he seems to have discovered me." Quirrell spoke at a normal speed and in a humble tone, carefully taking off his turban.
There was a pale human face on the back of his head.
It all made sense.
Parseltongue and the master of the Death Eaters, two clues point to one answer - Voldemort.
The symbol of evil that had disappeared for more than a decade hissed, "Dumbledore... is as disgusting as ever."
When Lucius shouted "Hogwarts" in the fireplace again, Narcissa finally realized something was wrong.
Although Luke loves children, he would not go to school twice in a short period of time. The first time he went there, he could say that he had something important to discuss with Severus. But what about this time?
Lucius didn't know that he would be questioned by his wife after returning home. At this moment, his anger and worry were almost materializing in his eyes. He rarely gave up his slow and elegant pace, and walked into the medical wing with a gloomy face and without looking around.
He now has no time to ask anyone for an explanation; he is only concerned about his two children.
Draco didn't seem to be seriously injured and would be able to attend classes as usual after another check-up. He really wanted to be with his sister, but Professor Snape warned him that if he missed classes, then his behavior of running around the school despite orders as the head teacher, which was not pursued last night, would result in three days of confinement - and he would then have no time to look after Alicia for three consecutive days.
Lucius placed his big hands on Draco and looked at the pale Alicia with heartache.
"Draco, do you remember what happened last night? Who cast the spell on you?"
The boy who was called by his father looked back at his father standing behind him and shook his head: "I didn't feel anything unusual, but Thea had a high fever and didn't wake up. I'm afraid she was scared. And the troll incident, those Weasleys have been bullying Thea. They tricked her to the troll's location and pushed her!"
As she spoke, the girl's eyelashes fluttered slightly.
The two men from the Malfoy family immediately surrounded them. This was the scene Alicia saw when she woke up - her father and brother were looking at her with concern.
She wanted to give them a smile, but it seemed difficult.
Seeing this, Lucius nervously asked Draco to find Mrs. Poppy.
The moment Draco left the hospital wing, Alicia spoke hoarsely and with great effort the first words she said after waking up: "Dad, I have something to say. No one else can hear it."
Lucius understood what he meant and once again cast the Mute Charm at Hogwarts. Although he was prepared, he never expected that the next news would be this.
Alicia took the water handed to her father, drank it reluctantly under his unquestioning gaze, and then repeated last night's scene in detail.
Quirrell's suspicion, the words the other party told him, and the spell that could not be broken.
Lucius opened his mouth as if he wanted to say something, but no words came out.
The only person who knew the mysterious man's orders back then was the mysterious man himself.
Lucius could naturally analyze the facts that the little girl could infer through clues on her own after Quirrell left.
The Dark Lord is not dead.
The Dark Lord was very unhappy with what the Malfoys had done.
The last point, and what Lucius cares about most, is that his children have been noticed by the Dark Lord, especially Thea.
Guilt, self-blame, uneasiness, panic and other emotions swept through the man's heart at the same time. There was only one thought left in his mind - he failed to protect his daughter.
The Death Eaters many years ago couldn't stay calm in front of the Dark Lord, let alone a spoiled little girl. Lucius couldn't imagine how scared and desperate Alicia was when facing that man.
He tried his best to preserve the whiteness of Narcissa's left arm, and naturally could not accept that his child was branded with the Dark Mark.
Lucius stroked his daughter's cheek tremblingly, but his tone was firm, as if he had made some important decision: "Xia, don't be afraid, Dad knows what to do."
