Chapter 85: Thorium Hall

Taking the one-handed hammer of the dwarf patrol captain as proof, Steve bid farewell to the patrol with Bobby and set off on the last leg of the journey to Thorium Hall;

We encountered several dwarf patrols along the way, but because of our credentials, we let them pass without any trouble.

In less than half a day, Steve and Bobby arrived at the base camp of the Northern dwarves - Thorium Hall.

This is a huge city built on a mountain, surrounded by tall semicircular walls;

The city walls, which are at least 30 stories high, perfectly illustrate the dwarves' preference for bigness.

Looking up with his big bald head, looking at the tall city walls in front of him, Bobby drooled with a dull look on his face.

"Steve, what...what is this?"

"The shield of Muradin, the pride of the dwarves."

On the tall city wall, a bearded head poked out from the top of the wall, and his rough voice could be heard clearly even from a distance.

"Don't come any closer, human with an ogre!"

Hearing this, Steve shouted at the top of his lungs:

"I have proof!" Steve said, swinging the one-handed hammer in his hand vigorously.

"Thorin Fireforge is my comrade. I brought back news about him from the Zerg battlefield! Please let me meet his parents!"

Hearing this, the heads on top of the city wall shrank back.

After a while, accompanied by the creaking sound of wood being overwhelmed, the city gate that could accommodate at least four carriages driving side by side slowly rose one meter;

Below, a dwarf wearing a thick fur coat and with his beard tied into two pigtails came out with his back bent.

"Muradin, it's rare to see adventurers daring to go north at this time of year."

The braided dwarf came out of the city wall, dusted off his fur coat, and walked towards Steve muttering.

"Hey, human, show me the hammer!"

Hearing this, Steve honestly handed over the patrol captain's hammer;

“Well, it’s old Formont’s hammer!

Hello human, my name is Bruno Boiler! What's yours?"

"Steve," Steve replied kindly.

Hearing this, Bruno nodded to himself and said a little chatteringly:

“Steve is a great name, I’ve known four Steves, three of them are dead.

Where are you from?

"If you said before, Silvermoon City."

"Well, Silvermoon City. Adventurers like to hang out in that place.

God knows what’s so good about elves. Adventurers from other places all like elves!

Hell, they don't have beards, and elves without beards are the least trustworthy, because you can never guess what an elf will do in the next second;

I remember when I was young, I had an elf teammate, and I remember when I smashed an orc's head, the annoying guy chose not to draw his sword and join the battle, but instead sang a song.

Damn it, they are always innocent and frivolous. "

Looking at the old dwarf who kept talking endlessly, Steve's eyes twitched twice and he complained slightly in his heart.

If you say that elves without beards are not trustworthy, you might as well just say that all elves are not trustworthy.

Also, can you smash the orc's head? Can you reach it?

I remember the average height of an orc is 7 feet!

Thinking of this, Steve remembered a joke that Old Pete had told him;

Do you know why orcs like to be shirtless and not wear helmets?

Because there is no need at all. The orcs only need to protect their knees and belly buttons to beat the dwarves to a pulp.

I remember that after Old Pete told this joke, Thorin ignored him for three days.

Just as Bruno was talking non-stop, Bobby, who was listening with great interest, suddenly pointed at his beard and spoke.

"Look, I have a beard, I can be trusted."

A muffled voice interrupted Bruno's chattering;

Hearing this, Bruno looked up at the extremely tall Bobby and shook his head with disdain.

"Ogres, the most untrustworthy race, synonymous with inconsistency!"

Hearing this, Bobby pouted in grievance, gently tugged at Steve's sleeve with his big hands, and almost burst into tears.

Seeing this, Steve sighed helplessly and patted her belly comfortingly.

"Don't take it seriously, Miss Poppy. I trust you."

After saying that, Steve turned to look at Bruno who was looking at him as if he were an idiot.

“Mr. Bruno, stop joking with my alien allies. We all know that there are weirdos in every race;

Well, please let me into the city, I have brought news about Thorin Fireforge, although this news is not happy. "

"Alright alright!"

Seeing that Steve didn't want to listen to his nagging, Bruno nodded.

"Come with me, but before you see old Godon, you must go with me to see His Majesty the King."

"That's what I hope for." Steve nodded seriously.

Seeing this, Bruno said no more, turned around and yelled at the city wall.

"Raise the gate higher! The dwarves cannot allow friends who come with a mission to crawl into the city with their backs bent!"

There was a roar like a gunpowder explosion.

After a while, the creaking sound was heard again, and the city gate, which looked extremely heavy, slowly and steadily rose a distance of three or four meters;

Seeing this scene, the dwarf Bruno straightened his leather coat and led Steve into this legendary kingdom that belongs only to the dwarves.

After entering the door and passing through the dark corridor, Steve's eyes suddenly opened up.

The next second, his eyes couldn't help but expand to the limit;

If Waterdeep gave Steve a feeling of prosperity and Silvermoon gave him a feeling of classical literature and art, then this city gave him a feeling of wildness and grandeur.

The mountains connected to the city walls surround the city, and the entire city is like a big bowl;

The stone buildings were built against the mountain, stacked up like terraced fields; on the narrow streets, the dwarves passing by laughed and greeted each other, pounding each other's chests.

On the cliff opposite the city gate, the surging hot magma flows down the black river and pours into the magma pool at the bottom;

As the heat wave hit me, the roar of metal knocking was endless, noisy and violent;

Looking at the bubbling pool of magma below, Bobby subconsciously moved closer to Steve;

Although the air was filled with the aroma of the delicious and chewy Dwarven brand jerky, Miss Poppy, who was not stupid, knew;

If he did anything out of line, there was a high chance that Steve and he would be thrown into the lava pool and cremated by these dried meats.

Following Bruno, Steve walked through a city where the air smelled of sulfur and iron filings;
