Shancai Rebirth: My Choice
Chapter 229 Misunderstanding resolved
Class groaned.
The knife just injured his wrist, and blood flowed down the knife to Shanlai's hand.
She only felt a smell of blood spreading in the air, and the stickiness on her hands scared her. The knife fell to the ground with a clang, and she took a step back.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I didn't mean it." She shook her head in pain, squatted down and hugged her head.
"sorry Sorry."
"Woo..." She cried helplessly.
This was not her intention. She didn't want this to happen. It shouldn't be like this.
Lei endured the pain and squatted down to comfort her. He pulled the tissue next to him to help her wipe the blood off her hands, trying his best to avoid touching her sleeves.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry." She opened her eyes but could not see, and reached out to pull his hand with trembling, "Please let the doctor take a look, where are you hurt?" Her tears fell in big drops, and the more she couldn't reach out, the more she wanted to grab him.
In order to prevent her from feeling guilty, Lei forced a smile and pulled his hand back, "I'm fine, just a little scrape."
Shan Lai is not a fool. If it was just a minor abrasion, she wouldn't have felt that sticky feeling the moment she touched him.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry." She said to him, shaking her head.
She didn't know what happened to her, nor did she know what she had done. She just woke up suddenly when she felt the stickiness on her hands and the pungent smell of blood.
Knowing that she might lose her sight, she reacted so strongly. She didn't want to be a blind person and become a useless person for the rest of her life.
She doesn't want to be a waste that everyone despises, she doesn't want to.
"Lei, Lei, I'm sorry." Tears fell down like crazy.
"What I just said was not human language. I didn't think through it."
"This is none of your business. It's not your fault. I was willful and didn't fulfill my responsibilities. I shouldn't put all the responsibility on you. I shouldn't blame you. This is all my problem."
She was really sad now, so sad that she was trembling, she had hurt the person she loved.
Knowing the reason for her previous extreme behavior, Lei did not intend to blame her. It was all his fault. No one could accept the fact that they would spend the rest of their life in darkness, let alone she was just a little girl.
He understood that it wasn't her fault.
Lei stretched out his right hand and held her in his arms to comfort her. His whole body was trembling slightly. God knew how worried he was that she would hurt herself. "It's okay. It's okay now."
Blood was still dripping from his right hand, and he couldn't hold her in his arms. He could only hold her with his left hand to give her some comfort.
Shanlai stopped crying. It didn’t matter if she was blind. She didn’t care. She had tried living in darkness before.
Now she just wanted the doctor to look at his hand. She was so scared that she had really hurt him too badly. He was also a human being. He also had joys and sorrows. How could she be so selfish and only think about herself?
"Lei, I'm sorry." Shanlai expressed her guilt again.
Lei patted her back and said, "I'm fine, don't worry, it's just a little scratch."
Shan Lai shook his head and said, "Let's call a doctor over. This will give us more peace of mind."
Before she could say the next word, Kassell pushed the door open with the doctor. When he saw the messy room, he was stunned for a moment, then turned his gaze to the two people hugging each other on the ground.
When Kassell saw the bloody footprints and the fruit knife thrown on the ground, he looked at the two people in astonishment. When he saw that Lei's left hand was still dripping with blood, he took a deep breath and said, "Doctor, please help him first." He pointed at Lei.
The doctor helped Shanlai sit on the sofa next to him, then took out medical equipment and began to bandage his wound. The doctor was stunned when he saw his hands covered in blood.
Dr. Lei Chong and Kassell shook their heads, and they both understood.
About half an hour later, the smell of blood in the air became stronger and stronger. Shan Lai bit his lip and asked anxiously: "Doctor, is his hand okay?"
Lei gave the doctor a wink, and the doctor reluctantly curled his lips and said, "It's okay, just a skin wound, nothing serious." While saying this, he bandaged Lei's clothes. What's wrong with people nowadays? A healthy person can be stabbed by a blind person, and the wound is so deep.
Shan Lai was a little unconvinced and reached out to touch it, but Lei stopped her waving hand in time and said, "I told you it's just a superficial injury. It's okay. Don't worry."
"Don't touch it." Lei said casually.
Although Shan Lai didn't believe it, he nodded.
Kassell spoke at the right time, "Shanlai, it's really just a skin wound. You've been injured once just now. Don't touch it. Let it heal quickly." There was a hint of pretense of lightness in his words.
Looking up and seeing that her feet were still bleeding, Kassell's hands suddenly clenched, "Doctor, please check her feet. Her feet are bleeding."
Just as the doctor finished bandaging Lei's hand, he looked at Shanlai's foot. There was a piece of glass deeply embedded in the flesh, and the bright red blood was shocking to see.
When the doctor took out the alcohol cotton to wipe the wound to disinfect it, she winced in pain and gasped.
"It will be a little painful, just bear with it." The doctor didn't say much.
It was already late at night when she was bandaged. After tossing and turning all night, she could only feel her eyelids fighting each other. Kassell was worried about her, so he asked the doctor to give Shanlai an injection of sedative in addition to the tetanus shots he gave them both.
Call the nurse to come and clean up the mess in the room and take out all the sharp objects in the room.
Watching Shanlai fall asleep, Lei tucked the quilt in for her.
Kassell watched from the side and pursed his lips, but ultimately didn't say much.
"Let's talk." Lei turned around and looked at Kassell seriously. Kassell did not refuse, and the two walked out of the ward one after the other.
There were not many people in the corridor. The hospital corridor was eerily quiet in the late night. The two of them leaned against the railing and talked.
"Kassell, thank you." These are what Lei wanted to say to him from the bottom of his heart.
Kassell didn't seem to care, "Don't thank me, I'm not doing this for you, I'm doing this for Shanlai."
Hua Ze Lei smiled and said, "If you hadn't helped me convince Shan Lai's parents to let me stay tonight, it wouldn't have been my turn to take my relationship with Shan Lai any further."
Looking up at the security lights on the hospital wall, Kassell smiled bitterly, "Even though she said so many hurtful words to you when she just woke up, she must be in great pain."
"One time when Nadel and I were on night watch, she kept calling your name in her sleep."
"Based on this alone, Hanazawa Rui, you have already won."
"Love is something that can't be forced, even though I really love her, I love her no less than you do." Kassell gently rubbed his thumb and index finger.
