Rebirth 90: I changed my fate by winning the lottery

Chapter 127 I'm Looking for Zhou Lang

Ding Mo went to the night market for several days in a row. She wanted to find Zhou Lang and ask him about the matter, but in the end she returned empty-handed and failed to find him.

However, she saw the little boy who was beaten by the white man again, in the private clinic that Zhou Lang took him to.

Ding Mo pretended to have a stomachache and passed by to see a doctor. There were not many people in the clinic, only a slightly fat middle-aged man in a white coat and the injured little boy.

The little boy sat on a chair beside him with a dull expression. His calf was clamped between two wooden boards and wrapped in a bandage without even a cast.

The middle-aged man was surprised to see Ding Mo walk in, but he still gave her some diarrhea pills, wrapped them in a piece of white paper and handed them to her.

Ding Mo did not dare to expose herself and communicated in English throughout the whole process. She left the clinic without seeing Zhou Lang turn around.

She had been looking for Zhou Lang near the night market for almost half a month, but of course she had never run into him. It was obvious that Zhou Lang was deliberately avoiding her.

----------

Zhou Lang was not found, but she made another discovery in the past few days: she was being targeted.

In the past few days, she had been paying special attention to whether Zhou Lang and his accomplices were among the locals near the night market. After her careful observation, she found that several other figures who looked like locals frequently appeared near her.

Those people were dressed no differently from ordinary people, but they would just follow her around.

Ding Mo grabbed Qi Zan and walked into a small shop. As expected, she saw the people who followed her looking around frantically for her.

"Is it because my action of looking for Zhou Lang alerted the enemy?" Ding Mo said.

Qi Zan said solemnly, "It doesn't look like that. Even if you came here specifically to find Zhou Lang, his men wouldn't follow you if they found you."

"Do you mean these people are coming specifically for me?" Ding Mo said suspiciously.

Qi Zan: "It's hard to say. It could be directed at me, or us. After all, we are all acting together."

Ding Mo asked: "What should we do now?"

Qi Zan: "Go back to the hotel first. Don't act separately from the main force these days."

Ding Mo agreed that the search for Zhou Lang had to be put on hold.

----------

However, what the two did not expect was that even if they did not go to the night market, the locals soon followed her to the site where the cultural relics restoration was taking place.

Although this is a tourist attraction, the restored area is not open to the public. A few unfamiliar faces wandering around were easily spotted by Ding Mo.

And she soon became 100% sure that these people were coming specifically for her. When Qi Zan pretended to leave to test the waters, those people did not move with him, but just stood aside and stared at her from a distance.

But why did he choose her?

Ding Mo intuitively felt that it had something to do with money.

Did Zhou Lang tell someone that he was rich?

Impossible, Ding Mo shook his head to get rid of this idea.

Even if Zhou Lang is now mixed up with such a group of people, he will not attack himself. Ding Mo is very convinced of this. And even if Zhou Lang wants to attack, wouldn’t it be more convenient for him to do it himself?

So, how did these people target me?

Fortunately, these locals did not dare to rush up and kidnap her, so as long as she stayed with the members of the working group, she was still safe.

But being watched by people with bad intentions like this is not a good idea! Judging from the security situation in this country, calling the police won't be of much use!

Looks like she needs help!

The next day at noon, Ding Mo asked the professor for a leave of absence on the pretext of feeling unwell. She planned to ride the fuel-powered tricycle to the night market.

Qi Zan initially thought that she was really feeling unwell, so he hurried over to take a look, only to see her quietly going to ride the tricycle.

Qi Zan would never let her go alone, and Ding Mo didn't want him to get involved in this matter. As a result, the two of them started to pull each other.

In the end, Ding Mo had no choice but to compromise. He reluctantly let Qi Zan sit in the cart and drove the tricycle away quickly.

She was confident that she could ride this bike to get rid of the people following her, and the time she gained would be enough for her to finish her business.

Ding Mo rode the tricycle directly to the door of the private clinic. She looked through the glass window and saw that only the middle-aged doctor and the little boy were still in the room.

So she parked the car, opened the door and walked straight in.

The middle-aged doctor was lying on a reclining chair with a newspaper covering his face. He must have been fast asleep.

Ding Mo walked towards the little boy and asked, "Where is Zhoulang?"

The little boy looked at her and shook his head.

Could it be that he didn't understand English? Ding Mo repeated it again: "Where is Zhoulang?"

The little boy still shook his head.

Did he not know who Zhou Lang was? Or did Zhou Lang use a pseudonym?

Ding Mo was very disappointed. She had already come all the way to his house but still couldn't find Zhou Lang.

Just as he was about to leave, the middle-aged doctor suddenly reached out and tore off the newspaper covering his face, and asked in fluent Chinese: "You said you were looking for Zhou Lang?"

The doctor, with a dark skin and a big fat belly, just sat there looking at her.

"Yes, I'm looking for Zhou Lang." Ding Mo then answered him in Chinese.

"What do you want to see him for?" The doctor spoke again, still in fluent Chinese. His Chinese had a slight accent, which sounded a bit weird.

Ding Mo didn't dare to be careless. There was no one here she could completely trust, but she had to take the risk. She had to find Zhou Lang.

So she said to the doctor: "I have business to do with him. Ask him to come to the western restaurant next door to meet me. I will wait there until the evening!"

The doctor's eyes suddenly became gloomy. After Ding Mo finished speaking, he did not dare to stay any longer and left the small clinic.
