The End of the World: Chaos

Chapter 372 It’s hard to compete with us

She stared at the computer intently, her fingertips flying, like a small fish quickly skimming on the water, hitting the keyboard. With a frown on her face, she pondered the new task assigned by Yang Yi. This time, she was just monitoring a mysterious transaction and snooping on the secret information in it.

At this moment, a young analyst walked in, holding a brand new document in his hand, and his tone revealed a hint of uneasiness. "This information has been sorted out, please take a look." He was a little nervous, as if he was treating a noble princess.

Stephanie raised her eyebrows slightly, took the document, and quickly flipped through it: "Is this the transaction list? Who is the party behind the transaction?"

The analyst lowered his head and said tremblingly, "According to rumors, it is an unknown gang called 'Black Hawk'. Recently, they have had some contact with the force called 'Eight-Faced Buddha', but the details still need further investigation."

"'Black Hawk'?" Stephanie smiled contemptuously. "These small characters are not to be feared. But if they are really related to the Eight-Faced Buddha, it is indeed worth investigating."

"Yes, I think so too. However, the selection of the scout still needs to be discussed. I will dispatch several agents to track her down." The analyst said cautiously, as if afraid of causing her displeasure.

"No need to be so fussy." Stephanie interrupted firmly, "I will go to the scene of this mission in person. The special nature of this matter requires me to personally understand it."

"But what the director just said..." The analyst hesitated, with worry in his words.

"I understand what the director means, but if I am not present for this mission, it will be difficult to take the initiative." Stephanie's eyes flashed with determination, "If we no longer control the situation, endless disasters will be waiting for us."

"Well, I hope everything goes as you wish." The analyst sighed helplessly, and then said: "I will prepare the corresponding equipment for you, but you must be careful. The risks of this transaction may be far beyond your expectations."

Time flies, Stephanie is ready, the night is like a black curtain, she quietly sets out, driving a black car along the winding mountain road, heading for a remote warehouse. The drizzle taps the car window, blurring the vision, foreshadowing the coming storm.

When the car arrived at the destination, Stephanie got out and looked around. It was quiet all around. In the dark environment, her senses were extremely sharp. She could vaguely see a few blurry figures wandering outside the warehouse. They were the members of the Black Hawk.

In the headset, Yang Yi's voice was calm and firm: "Stephanie, are you ready to hide?"

"Everything has been settled. It seems peaceful here, and nothing unusual has been noticed so far." Stephanie responded in a low voice, quickly looking around.

"Okay, continue monitoring. I'll be on hand to assist." Yang Yi's voice was full of trust, like a firm pillar.

In a corner of the warehouse, several Black Hawk members gathered together, whispering. Stephanie pricked up her ears, carefully following their conversation.

"Do you trust the Eight-Faced Buddha? This matter concerns our lives!" A thin Black Hawk member whispered with a worried look on his face.

"As long as the transaction is successful, the gains will allow us to regroup. Why should we care about these shady deals afterwards?" Another burly member laughed, his tone full of contempt.

Stephanie was shocked, knowing that this deal must hide huge benefits that could not be ignored.

"Yang Yi, I'm here. Black Hawk is very confident about this deal, but some background information is still unclear." She responded quickly.

"Stay alert and don't act rashly. If you are sure there is profit to be made, collect intelligence secretly and be careful." Yang Yi's tone was full of concern.

"Understood. I will deal with this strictly." Stephanie responded firmly.

After a while, a tall man from the Black Hawk team walked out of the warehouse and shook hands with another figure. His action immediately caught Stephanie's attention. She quickly took out her camera and took several photos to record this important moment.

"This person must be the key for us to obtain intelligence. We must remember his figure." Stephanie said into the headset.

"Continue to observe. Is the valuable item you mentioned also included in the transaction list?" Yang Yi asked again.

"It does fall into that category. It implies that Black Hawk is dependent on the Eight-Faced Buddha and has no choice in the transaction." Stephanie replied in a firm tone.

Suddenly, the alarm sounded in the warehouse. The Black Hawk members seemed to have noticed something was wrong and ran away in all directions. The scene instantly became chaotic.

"Oh no! Someone has noticed us!" Stephanie hurriedly pressed the stealth button and quickly evacuated. At this moment, a dark figure suddenly flashed in a corner of the warehouse. It was the tall man.

"Catch her!" the tall man shouted, pointing directly at Stephanie.

Stephanie's heart tightened, and she immediately turned around and ran away. Yang Yi's voice in the headset was still calm: "Stay calm, seek cover, and be ready to counterattack at any time."

She walked through the warehouse, looking around calmly, and unexpectedly a door came into view. She quickly pushed it open and hid to the side. Outside, the Black Hawk members shouted one after another, anxiously searching for her.

"Where is she?" The tall man's angry voice almost penetrated the crack in the door, and his anger was obvious.

Stephanie held her breath and waited quietly, not daring to make a sound. At this moment, Yang Yi's calm and determined face appeared in her mind.

"I must not be arrested. I must go back." She swore secretly in her heart, ready to take action at any time.

After a tense confrontation, the noise outside gradually subsided. The tall man seemed to be at a loss, and eventually he and his companions returned empty-handed. Stephanie quickly contacted Yang Yi with headphones.

"I have escaped safely and avoided pursuit for the time being." She tried her best to suppress her inner excitement, and her voice trembled slightly.

"Stay alert, we're on standby at all times. Black Hawk will never give up your trail easily, so be careful." Yang Yi's tone was full of concern, which put her at ease.

"I understand." Stephanie took a deep breath and recalled her experience in the warehouse.
