Harry Potter: Reunion with the Enemy
Chapter 9 Harry's Makeup
"I have to say, Potter, your makeup skills are really terrible." Malfoy shook the glass in his hand, and the ice cubes inside made a crisp sound.
Harry silently clenched his fists, trying to ignore the pair of gray eyes that had been glued to his face for nearly an hour. He felt his ears were red and his heartbeat was abnormally fast, but he still coughed twice and made up his mind to focus on the pile of cosmetics in front of him, pretending to be "under control".
Harry didn't understand why he was so eager at the moment, almost to the point of shame.
Minister of Magic Kingsley suddenly notified a few days ago that the content of the cooperation project with Gringotts had been finalized, but considering the danger of the mission, the mission notice could not be officially issued until Harry passed the "Hide and Disguise" training assessment.
This is also the reason why Harry is doing emergency training at home at the moment. He really can't stand smearing in the small cubicle of the Auror's office. Just imagining this scene seems to cost Harry his life.
But when Harry applied to work from home, he never expected that an uninvited guest would break into his home in Godric's Hollow.
"Yes, Potter, in order to get the task as soon as possible, I will supervise you to complete the training content as soon as possible in the next few days - and give you some guidance by the way." Draco said this when he appeared at the door again, wearing an exquisite satin suit and dragging a huge Muggle trolley case in his hand.
"I think it will be quick for you to Apparate from Malfoy Manor once I'm done. There are no ready-made guest rooms here." Harry did not try to be hospitable.
"As your long-term partner for a long time in the future, I think it is necessary to understand your disguise skills in advance so that we can work together better." Draco seemed unable to hold back a smile from the corner of his mouth. "Of course, it will also help you feel the urgency of this task and prevent you from forgetting to practice in time when you are at home. I still remember your negligent attitude towards certain subjects in Hogwarts."
"I don't think that slandering your mission partner now will improve the smoothness of subsequent cooperation." Harry gritted his teeth and wanted to find a reason to throw this exquisitely dressed young master out of the valley.
Draco walked straight into the house.
The sudden approach brought the two people only a few centimeters apart, and Harry felt alert all over, whether it was the body temperature he felt from being too close, or the slight sense of oppression brought by Draco's slightly taller height.
Harry involuntarily took a few steps back.
Draco took these few steps back and went into the house with his luggage. "Mr. Potter, I will obey your command."
Since Draco had explored the route during his last night visit, he was already familiar with the basic structure of Harry's house. He took his box and walked straight to the empty room next to Harry's bedroom. Before entering the room, he kindly reminded Harry, who was still standing at the door in a daze: "Remember to start training early."
Because of the mission of the Ministry of Magic, Harry did not react too much to the intruder. But Harry had never shared a room with another person, especially Draco Malfoy.
Since Harry moved back to Godric's Hollow, work has taken up most of his time. In order to minimize the difficulty of cleaning, Harry only cleaned up the smallest room, and the rest of the space in the house remained empty.
After Draco quickly occupied the empty rooms, he walked around the entire room in an inspecting manner.
"There's really no fun in life here." Draco sighed as he looked at the living room with bare walls and the kitchen without even the basic pots and pans.
"It's enough for me," Harry replied dryly. "Unlike Malfoy Manor, which must be filled with illegal personal items, when you arrived at Gringotts, didn't the goblins ask you to hand in your own private collection of goblin artifacts? I guess there must be a lot."
Draco didn't feel embarrassed at all. "Unfortunately, all the transactions were completed long ago at Borgin and Burke's. Moreover, many goblin products are only of ornamental value, and the magic contained in them has not yet reached our collection standards. It seems that you are very interested in Malfoy Manor, Potter. It seems that you have only admired the dungeon of my house?"
Harry resisted the urge to roll his eyes and didn't reply.
In the next few days, even though Harry locked himself in the bathroom or study to practice "hiding and disguising" whenever he had free time, he felt that there were more and more traces of Malfoy left in the house every day.
For example, there was an oversized leather sofa in the living room that had appeared at some point, an exquisitely bordered mural on the wall, dark green velvet curtains, various utensils with delicate carvings, even small items like extra toiletries on the washstand and extra complicated custom-made clothes on the hangers that Harry would never want to try in his life.
That day, Harry passed by Draco's room and happened to glance inside. The decoration and interior style inside made Harry wonder what magic Draco used to connect that room to the royal court.
"I say... when you leave, all these, these, and those must be moved away." Harry announced in an unquestionable tone.
Draco just shrugged and said, "I think it's too early." He stretched out his hand to stop Harry from closing the door. "Well, you should let me in today to monitor your progress."
Harry wanted to refuse outright, but he hesitated for a moment when he thought of the training acceptance test agreed with Kingsley tomorrow. Draco added: "It's been a long time since you kicked me out of the room last time on the pretext of being humiliated."
"Not hearing your voice would make me feel better," Harry replied coldly.
"I am just making an objective evaluation based on facts. Well, model Auror, you can start showing the results of your studies." Draco made a "please" gesture.
In fact, Harry's skills have improved a lot during the closed-door practice in the past few days.
If imitating Muggle makeup techniques was like pasting a wall at the beginning, at this moment, Harry could use magic more skillfully to fine-tune the rubber face mask, adjust the hair of various lengths and colors, and then use various bottles and jars to make further improvements on the mask.
Draco stared at Harry's finished cheek of the opposite sex for a while and gave a brief evaluation: "Almost perfect."
Harry tried various expressions under the mask and looked in the mirror to see if he would reveal any flaws: "Close?"
Draco didn't look away, and for a moment he seemed to reach out and touch Harry's eyelashes. "It's a mistake to cover your emerald eyes with this stupid piece of plastic. I like them the way they are."
--------------------
On the day of the training acceptance, Harry received a specific task: to disguise himself as a black-haired, meticulous, and strict Muggle female teacher. Because it was a single-person assessment, Harry only needed to dress up as the target to meet Wendelin and Kingsley. "Of course, if you can confuse all your colleagues at the same time, that would be even better."
Draco leaned against the door and watched Harry carefully adjusting the disguise mask with a serious attitude. After a while, Draco seemed to remember something, turned and left, and when he appeared again, he was holding a bag in his hand.
"I went to a Muggle clothing store and bought a new dress. I think this seems to be a relatively less ugly style of attire for a Muggle female teacher."
Harry took the bag and felt dizzy for a moment. There was a suit in it, but the damn Draco actually brought back a skirt suit.
Harry had already finished disguising his face and hair, and fortunately Draco couldn't see that his face was red with anger.
"No, I can just wear my wizard robes." Harry was very resistant.
"Dress is also a very important part of the assessment." Draco patiently advised.
"It's just a formality."
Draco raised his eyebrows. "From what I know, the requirements for a true Auror exam are very high. I don't think he will lower the requirements just because you are Harry Potter."
Harry struggled for a while, then picked up the suit and weighed it over and over again for a long time.
"Once you finish the last item of training, the mission will begin." Draco gave another kind reminder.
"Get out, Malfoy."
When the door opened again, Draco, who had been leaning against the door, immediately turned his head.
"You really do look good in women's clothing, Potter."
