Harry Potter: Reunion with the Enemy
Chapter 73 He Grows Up Like This (Part )
"Do you think I can extract some memories from a place that Voldemort failed to invade?" Harry asked hesitantly, stroking his fingers through Draco's soft hair.
"There are three conditions that make Legilimency easier - the caster and the target are close, have eye contact, and the target is relaxed or not on guard. I meet all three conditions now, which is the lowest difficulty." Draco supported the table with his hands, then looked into Harry's eyes with a smile. "Come on."
Was Dumbledore unwilling to look him in the eye before because he wanted to prevent Voldemort from reading his thoughts through his eyes? The thought flashed through Harry's mind.
Harry stared at Draco's grey eyes, trying to concentrate. Someone once said that Harry's eyes were as green as a pickled toad. What was the grey? It was a dark cloud before a storm, dust on an old photo, and thick fog before dawn. All emotions were as blurred and difficult to identify as old newspapers wet by rain. Only a few people could see the true thoughts behind them.
Although he and Draco were already a couple who could walk hand in hand on the street, and the relationship had been widely publicized by major wizard newspapers, it was the first time that Harry had looked at him at such a close distance and for such a long time. It was getting close to dusk, and the sunlight outside the French window was like broken gold. Harry was sitting on a sofa with his back to the window. The afterglow of the sunset was falling on every inch of Draco's skin opposite him. His fair face was illuminated by the warm golden sunlight. Harry couldn't help but be distracted, looking at his skin texture, his straight nose, his relaxed mouth corners, and his Adam's apple trembling slightly below.
"Focus, Harry, focus." Draco saw Harry's eyes gradually straying from the topic, and reminded him gently. "Look at me, don't look anywhere else."
There's nothing to argue about. Harry pinched the bridge of his nose unconsciously. It was good enough that he could control the various wild thoughts in his mind.
"It's pretty much the same process as casting a spell with a wand. You can combine it with your experience with other wandless spells."
"I'm not so sure," said Harry uncertainly.
Draco said in a voice close to a whisper, "Or do you want to feel it first?"
"Look at me." Draco moved a little closer, and Harry blocked a large area of sunlight from his face, and their eyes met.
"Three, two, one - Legilimency."
Harry felt a long-lost electric shock-like feeling flowing rapidly throughout his body. Many long-buried memories and emotions surged out from the depths of his mind. Everything around him gradually disappeared, leaving only the images of memory occupying his mind.
Picture after picture appeared in front of him like a movie: in the duelling club, Draco was casting the spell of the dragon out of the hole on him, and a black snake emerged from the tip of his wand and swam slowly towards him - the year when Hagrid secretly raised a dragon, Harry looked back and saw Draco peeking at the little dragon through the curtain - in the potions class, Harry was asked by Snape to help the injured Draco peel figs, and he was very reluctant - in the girls' bathroom, Harry used the magic of the sword on Draco - countless quarrels and fights with Draco, both of which deducted points -
"That's enough, that's enough." Draco covered his eyes, paused the spell and fell backwards with a smile. "That's really not romantic."
It took Harry a while to come back to his senses from his memory. He stuttered and asked, "Why can only memories related to you appear?"
"This kind of practice requires longer time, and targeted search for useful memory fragments. During my time as a Death Eater, I used people imprisoned in the dungeon of Malfoy Manor to practice for a while." Draco rubbed his eyebrows, as if he was annoyed at how disastrous the image he had established for Harry during his time at Hogwarts was. "Most of the time, when talking to people, without deep eye contact and letting down your guard, it's already amazing to be able to immediately tell whether someone is telling the truth or a lie."
"Let me try." Harry had gradually calmed down after returning from the scene of Draco bleeding in the ladies' room to the warm evening in his London apartment.
Draco smiled bitterly. "You've calmed down a lot after reading the extracted memories. A few minutes ago you looked like you wanted to be eaten by me right away."
"I don't!"
"Your thoughts are all on your face, Harry. Your desire to curse me or rip my clothes off is so obvious that you don't even have to use Legilimency." Draco held Harry's chin and made Harry look into his eyes. "Don't you wonder why every time I say something during school, you get angry? Or even go and fight the Dementors directly."
Harry looked suspicious at the moment, although it was true that he became furious every time he saw the blond little bastard Malfoy.
"I know you so well that I know how to step on a cat's tail to make it jump—no, a lion cub's tail." Draco bit his lip to hold back his laughter. "So now I also know what you want, and how to satisfy you."
"Go to hell." Harry freed one hand and wanted to show the power of the lion, but in the end he couldn't bear to do it.
"But we'll talk about all this after we finish the practice." Draco grabbed Harry's hand and placed it on his waist.
"Now, focus. Pay attention," Draco hissed in fairly fluent Parseltongue.
Faintly flowing breath, gray flickering eyes, and eyelashes trembling like cicada wings.
Suddenly, the scene of the London apartment began to fade, and Harry was surrounded by unfamiliar scenes, with Draco's memories flooding in from all sides.
