Harry Potter: Reunion with the Enemy
Chapter 45 Children’s Chapter Story
It was no coincidence that Draco associated Harry with Cinderella; it was simply because he had recently read all the Muggle fairy tales.
When around Harry, Draco often reminded himself to be polite, maintain his composure at all times, and never say anything inappropriate.
But after reading through classic Muggle fairy tales such as "Cinderella", "Snow White" and "Sleeping Beauty", Draco found himself still wanting to say: "Stupid fairy tales for stupid Muggles."
Draco couldn't help but wonder, God, did Harry grow up reading these stories?
The beginning of the story always finds the protagonist in some kind of predicament, with the stepmother's house, poisoned apples, and spinning wheels. The ending of the story is always a sloppy sentence "Finally, the princess and the prince lived happily together." There is no further news. After turning the page, you will find that the back is empty, with at most a fancy "the end" pattern. After the heroine and the hero confirm their feelings for each other, the mission of the whole story seems to have been completed, as if to imply that the peak of emotion has arrived, and the future is a continuous decline.
Draco flipped through the pages, trying to find out how the princess and the prince dealt with annoying ministers together, or how they governed the country together, or how they got to know their own people personally, or some mundane and trivial daily life, but there was nothing. Perhaps in the eyes of Muggles these were not worth reading?
The love described in fairy tales is more like a short-lived firework. The author always cuts off the story at what he thinks is the most romantic moment: they met, they fell in love, they were together, and the story ended. The readers are left facing the hasty ending, just like facing the silent night sky after the fireworks are over.
Harry looked at Draco with a little curiosity. He forced himself to sleep, but now he had a dazed look in his eyes. He was frowning slightly, as if he was thinking about something serious.
Harry held out his hand and waved it in front of Draco, "What's wrong with you?"
"I was thinking... in Muggle fairy tales, when the princess and the prince are together, everything is over." Draco seemed to have a hard time describing this feeling. "It's like when you are hunting, you only enjoy the process of chasing a deer? But after you actually get it, everything starts to become boring?"
Harry seemed to quickly understand what was suddenly causing Draco to fall into a state of emotion.
"The Brothers Grimm just don't want to write anymore." Harry looked at Draco and smiled. "Maybe the story of an old princess and an old prince falling in love on an old swing is also good - look at your parents Lucius and Narcissa."
Harry had completely forgotten about the Quidditch game he hadn't finished yet, and stared into Draco's light grey eyes and said, "The content of their conversations ten years ago and ten years later must be completely different."
“Of course, I was not the same person ten years ago as I am now.”
"Why do I read about sadness in a dreamy Muggle fairy tale?" Harry stared at Draco with interest.
"I don't understand. Maybe it's just because I feel regretful that I can't see the story of the old princess and the old prince, or even have some inappropriate sense of crisis." Draco looked at himself deep in his green eyes, and felt relieved in his heart.
Harry didn't say anything else, just took off his glasses, moved his head closer to Draco's face, and closed his eyes.
"Cinderella needs a goodnight kiss." Harry whispered, "Maybe the old prince is a good kisser, and the old princess is willing to spend the rest of her life with him."
Draco's lips quickly covered hers. It was a long and gentle kiss. Their breaths intertwined, and they exchanged each other's body temperature through their pajamas. Knowing that the strength of his hands and his heartbeat were gradually getting out of control, Draco tried to let go of her hands before his thoughts turned into a chaotic mess.
"Ahem, go to bed early." Draco straightened up with his willpower and stuffed Harry's hand around his waist into the quilt. "If you continue like this, you won't be able to sleep well tonight."
Without the thick lenses covering his green eyes, he looked a little out of focus. A feeling of unfulfilled desire and satisfaction appeared at the same time in his emerald eyes. The blush on his face due to the accelerated heartbeat had not yet faded. Harry tried hard to adjust his disordered breathing due to lack of oxygen. The corner of his pajamas lifted up, revealing his abdomen under the moonlight.
Draco rushed downstairs before he regretted it, and returned to the bed on the first floor in a daze. He licked his lips unconsciously, as if he was savoring the long kiss that lasted a little too long. Harry's eyelashes had just brushed against his cheek, and it seemed to still be itchy at the moment.
The other side of the Savior was revealing itself to him, yet he was still dwelling on some stupid Muggle fairy tale.
Draco was pleased that Harry, who usually showed integrity, kindness and courage, could now show his vulnerability and desire in front of him. Asking was a way to show a sense of security, because only when you feel loved can you become bold, and you are bold because you know that there is an inexhaustible supply of love to squander.
Because he was called "the spoiled boy of the Malfoy family" in rumors since he was a child, Draco knew that this sense of security can make people stronger, because he knew that there was unconditional support behind him wherever he went. This deep sense of security is different from other families where children need to compete with each other or need to exchange love with good performance. Pampering will not make people bad, and unconditional love is more precious.
One of the reasons why the famous Harry Potter is so acclaimed is that he was able to become a kind person after experiencing childhood abuse and many hardships, because kindness is a choice rather than a nature.
At this moment, Draco's eyes followed the stairs up, imagining Harry gradually falling asleep.
He only hoped that here, his boy didn't have to be kind, dress up or be polite, and didn't have to carry the heavy shell attached to the name of savior. He just had to be himself.
There is endless love to squander, take as much as you can get here.
