Harry Potter: Reunion with the Enemy

Chapter 27 Gambling Agreement

Matthew was hit by Draco's silencing spell, and he covered his throat and yelled, but found that he could not make any sound, and was terrified. Then he stumbled downstairs and no one knew where he went.

It was only after Harry and Draco watched Alex's out-of-control audition that they realized he was missing.

Draco walked to the window and looked down to where Matthew had parked his car, only to see that it had already been driven away.

"He may have left for the hospital alone, apparently without a second thought, leaving all of us behind," Draco turned back and whispered to Harry.

"You...he should be okay, right? Should we notify the Ministry of Magic to clean up the mess?" Harry hesitated.

"It's okay. The spell will wear off in about half an hour. It will probably recover the moment he steps into the hospital door. I thought he wouldn't leave." Draco waved his hand. "We're still waiting for him to introduce us to the Lakeside Club. It would be nice if he could be quiet for a few minutes."

"Once this is over, you take Alex home first. I'll go to the Ministry of Magic and then come back to find you - at the bar." Harry looked at Draco's face carefully to make sure there was nothing unusual.

"Okay." Draco smiled triumphantly.

Alex had already changed his clothes, washed off all his makeup, and was waiting with his head down for the result of the audition. He was a little confused as to why Matthew didn't run out and scold him, or urge him to leave quickly. However, Alex didn't seem to have any intention of going directly to find his father. He just slowly adjusted his breathing and calmed his emotions.

Harry and Draco sat down next to him, one on each side, and each put an arm around Alex.

Because we understand each other well enough, there is no need for excessive words of comfort.

It turns out that the drug Felix always works.

Although Alex did not perform according to the original script, the judges finally announced that Alex was selected as the leading actor. Parents and other candidates were discussing it, but no one stood up to refute it. One of the little girls' mothers even ran up to Alex and said, "Your crying scene is so touching. I thought you had encountered something sad. You are the leading actor who deserves it."

Alex thanked him hurriedly and awkwardly, then went into the audition room to listen to the judges' follow-up arrangements.

"They said that although my version deviated from the original plot of Hamlet, my understanding of the character was deeper than others, because Hamlet was a hesitant character, and my crying scene and the blood bag on my knees cleverly increased the drama... This bold innovation is a fresh and unique angle of understanding." Alex walked out of the building with an incredible expression on his face.

"Sometimes you just can't figure out what's going on in the minds of those who have the final say, right?" Draco laughed.

"Dad won't be mad anymore - at least I got the chance to perform," Alex said with mixed feelings.

"Your father has left for work a while ago. Mr. Malfoy will take you home first." Harry told a white lie, "I have something urgent tonight, so I can't accompany you for now."

Harry took Draco's backpack containing the silver sword, looked at Draco, nodded, and ran away.

Official employees of the Ministry of Magic could directly come to the main hall through Apparition or Floo powder. Harry found a place where he was sure there was no one and began to Apparite. After a strong sense of squeezing, he opened his eyes and found himself in the main hall of the Ministry of Magic.

It was already the end of working hours at the Ministry of Magic, and only employees were leaving get off work one after another.

However, there were still people on duty in the Abuse of Magic Office on the second floor. Harry passed the Auror's office and came to the window for reporting tests. He carefully took out the silver sword from his bag and handed it to the Ministry of Magic employee at the window.

The clerk recognized Harry: "Harry! You're back? I heard you were on a mission? I haven't seen you in the Auror office for a long time."

Harry replied, "Yeah. I'm afraid I'll have to apply for a temporary test."

Harry took the form and listed the specific submission options one by one: "Temporary inspection, goblin silver products, suspected of causing adverse reactions to people who come into contact with them for a long time, the source is unknown, a test report is required, and the original may be submitted to Gringotts."

The clerk's automatic feather pen recorded quickly, and soon Harry got a receipt from the window. The receipt showed that because it was now the Ministry of Magic's off-duty hours, a complete test report would take about an hour.

Harry took his phone out of his pocket and sent a message to Draco: "It may take another hour before I can get back."

Draco's reply popped up quickly. "We're on the tube home too - I can't imagine handing you my entire backpack of Muggle currency. The only funds we have now are Alex's little pocket money."

Harry opened the backpack, which still had some weight, and checked. Sure enough, there was a wallet filled with Muggle currency inside, with a thick stack of banknotes carefully stacked together.

"The subway is economical and affordable. From now on, the financial power will be handed over to me since you have already handed it over to me." Harry walked towards the elevator while typing with his head down.

"I'm seriously considering whether or not to learn for a Muggle driver's license. After all, I can get a generous mission fund after submitting the silver sword." Draco was obviously dissatisfied with the subway experience during rush hour.

"I'll listen to you." Harry never got a Muggle driver's license, and before he became a wizard, he rarely had the opportunity to ride in his uncle's car.

One hour... Harry was thinking about whether he should go and talk to Kingsley in person about the progress of the mission. Maybe he was still in the Ministry of Magic?

Harry decided to try his luck in the Minister of Magic's office first. The effect of the Felix Felicis potion seemed to be slowly fading. The feeling of happiness and confidence brought by the potion was dissipating, and was replaced by fatigue from a day's running around.

The elevator door opened, and the person standing inside was actually an acquaintance. Red hair, only one ear left, and wearing the work clothes of Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes.

"George!" Harry felt very friendly and quickly walked into the elevator to give him a hug. "Why did you come to the Ministry of Magic?"

"The final contract for the Quidditch World Cup advertising tender has been signed." George responded with a brilliant smile. "I have decided to expand our magic shop overseas and open more branches, so advertising in the wizarding world's largest sporting event is an important matter."

"Gringotts has opened a new business, and I have signed a bet agreement with the goblins. If I cannot repay them the corresponding interest and loan principal within two years, I will give the entire store to Gringotts." George patted Harry on the shoulder.

"Isn't that a bit radical?" Harry asked cautiously.

"Yeah... but I'll do whatever it takes to fulfill Fred's wish." They arrived at the seventh floor, and the elevator door opened to reveal all kinds of Quidditch posters. George strode out of the elevator. Harry put aside his plan to find Kingsley for the time being - after all, he would write a detailed investigation report and send it to him every week.

"Hey, so you have already signed a betting agreement with Gringotts, and have also negotiated the bidding for the Department of Magical Sports and Physical Education?" Harry followed George.

"Today's signing is the last step. The Quidditch group stage has already started, so they are very busy at work. I can only wait until they get off work to sign the contract." George waved to Ron who was still working overtime.

Ron looked up from the piles of documents and saw the two people. "Well... Actually, the store in Diagon Alley can already support several large Weasley families. Do we really want to take the risk?" Ron asked half-seriously.

"Of course, Weasley is the king of the world." George signed quickly and said to Harry, "In addition to the part agreed with Gringotts, I think we should give more returns to our original major shareholder Harry. Therefore, the pressure to make money this year is not small. I have to speed up the research and development of new products."
