Harry Potter: Reunion with the Enemy
Chapter 133: Letting the Wolf In (Part )
Draco dragged Harry and Dennis Creevey into Malfoy Manor. The tall hedges separated them from the large group of reporters outside. The noisy questions and shoving had faded. Draco used great willpower to keep himself awake. The large number of questions bombarded by reporters just now had made him realize that the situation outside had changed a lot.
Dennis Creevey, who had been working all night to finish the press release, was still a little out of shape. One second he was asking about his colleagues in the crowd without hope, and the next second he was actually pulled into this mysterious and ancient wizard manor by Draco - you know, sometimes the Auror search team would run into trouble when they came to Malfoy Manor for surprise inspections. Normally, the Malfoy family was not happy for outsiders to set foot in this area that belonged to the family.
But Dennis Creevey also had many questions in his mind, such as why the Savior had been acting abnormally recently, and the increasingly confusing relationship between Harry and Draco. Ed, a colleague who took over the reporting task of Draco and Harry from Rita Skeeter, had disappeared in the past few days, while Harry, the object of attention, had appeared everywhere and given speeches in the past few days. This resulted in no timely feedback from the Daily Prophet - this was something Rita Skeeter absolutely did not want to see.
Draco hid his reluctance, the fake Harry beside him made him feel sick. Now it can be confirmed that the fake Harry is not a disguise of Polyjuice Potion. Only the Metamorphmagus would miss the scar on the back of his hand - the deformed person did not notice this detail on Harry's hand. He quickened his pace. He didn't know the real situation at home yet. When there was a house elf before, he only needed to call it at any time to find out the situation at home.
Just as the number 12 of Grimmauld Place is full of house-elves' heads, Malfoy Manor could have had more house-elves after losing Dobby, and the Ministry of Magic's "House-Elf Resettlement Office" would have arranged new elves for these ancient families. However, Dobby's rebellious mentality and free will forced the Malfoy family to be more cautious. If the subsequent house-elves would act on their own initiative and violate the will of their master like Dobby, and then punish themselves to make up for it, then many secrets of Malfoy Manor might be exposed.
This was especially true when Voldemort used Malfoy Manor as the Death Eaters' base, so until now, Malfoy Manor still continues the custom of that time and keeps the position of the house-elf vacant.
A woman in a long dress appeared at the door. She looked like she had just rushed down from upstairs. "Oh, Draco - my son." Narcissa ran towards the three of them. Her face was very pale, and her golden hair was scattered behind her, shining white under the strong sunlight. All this made her look like a drowning person.
"Mother." Draco stepped forward and hugged Narcissa. Although he had only lost contact with his family for a few days, he had not been home for a long time. Andre, goblins, Muggle parties and things with Harry filled most of his time. "I'm fine, don't worry."
"There have been so many things going on lately that we can't help but think about it." Narcissa staggered and grabbed the front of Draco's clothes after hearing what Draco said, as if to check whether Draco was really as healthy as he looked. "I also had some very bad dreams."
Draco comforted his mother and put his face close to Narcissa's. He knew how his mother felt at the moment. The last time she was so distraught was when she was assigned by Voldemort to kill Dumbledore. A desperate woman always tried every means to protect her children. She even begged Snape to make an unbreakable oath.
"Lucius - Lucius - I will tell him to go home now." Narcissa seemed to have calmed down a lot. She used her wand to summon the patronus, and the silver patronus flew away.
"Is the goblin really locked up in our house?" Draco asked hesitantly.
"We traced the owl that canceled your travel agency order, and the source came from Gringotts." Narcissa seemed to remember something, and her face became grim again. "So we had to start from there. Now that you're back, it just proves that your father and I were right."
"My dear madam, now that Master Malfoy is back, I think Gringotts can get back on track. Many people want to go to the vault to withdraw money, but now almost all the goblin staff are locked up here." The fake Harry standing aside suddenly spoke.
Narcissa shifted her gaze from Draco to the two people beside her. She now looked at Harry with a mixture of confusion, bewilderment and a little anger. "We'll talk about everything after Lucius comes back." She spoke in a very cold tone. Narcissa hugged Draco to her again and made him stand a little further away from Harry.
Of course, Narcissa also looked Dennis Creevey over carefully. The huge Daily Prophet ID card was hanging on his chest. Dennis Creevey felt her gaze and quickly greeted her politely, and stammered to explain that it was Draco who brought him in.
"You can take a few photos when we release the goblins later," Narcissa said in the same cold tone. "It would be even better if you could help us explain to everyone that the misunderstanding between us and the goblins has been written off since Draco returned home."
Before he finished speaking, a figure in a robe strode in from the gate.
"Father." Draco lowered his head when he saw Lucius's stern face.
Lucius's gaze lingered for a few seconds before he patted his son's shoulder. "I'll let them out - but we may have forgotten to provide food for the goblins, so they may be a little hungry now."
"You may need to go back and rest for a few days before continuing your great cause." Lucius said the last sentence while looking at Harry's face.
Lucius walked towards the interior of Malfoy Manor, and Harry wanted to follow him. "I'm worried that our carpet will stain your shoes, Potter." Lucius said in a lazy voice, but his tone was very tough, "I think you just need to wait outside, we won't delay your speech too much."
The goblins were tied together one by one with some kind of heavy chains. They walked out of the dungeon in a long line with heavy steps. When passing through the living room and corridor of Malfoy Manor, they glanced at everything here with extremely resentful eyes, including the many goblin mithril products used by the Malfoy family to decorate the entrance hall.
Lucius raised his wand and escorted the goblins to the gate. He opened the door with a hint of sarcasm: "I hope the way we meet next time will be more decent than this time." Lucius turned around and said to Dennis Creevey who was taking pictures with a camera and Harry on the other side, "The door is over there. I think it's easy to see. I won't see you off for now."
Draco saw the fake Harry took out his wand and tried to untie the chains of the goblin. He remembered that there were still many problems that had not been solved. He had to follow the fake Harry until he found the real Harry... Draco took a step forward.
Lucius suddenly grabbed Draco's arm: "What are you doing?"
"Harry..." Draco paused in pain.
"I think you should get back on track." Lucius said without letting anyone know. "You've been playing around for a long time, and I've been managing the family business all along."
"I think there is some misunderstanding, father." Draco had sensed the change in his parents' attitude.
"Think carefully about what you are doing now. I have taken down the photo hanging next to the portrait for you."
"It's urgent now--" Draco watched the fake Harry's back gradually disappearing into the distance.
"If what you mean by urgent is to support the goblins." Lucius controlled his breathing and said slowly, "Stay at home and don't go anywhere."
Draco knew that it was pointless to rebel against his parents now. Time was running out. Draco stared at the fake Harry's back. He suddenly shouted with all his might, "Stop!"
The fake Harry froze for a moment, then he subconsciously raised his wand and turned around.
Draco stared into those green eyes and cast a silent Legilimency spell, trying to pull out a few images from the brain hiding beneath Harry's body.
