Harry Potter: Reunion with the Enemy

Chapter 106 Burglar Alarm

Draco quickly cast a warming spell on Harry who had left the underground lake, and looked back at the place where Lancelot had dived in and raised his eyebrows. "Did you see anything, Harry?" Draco had been on the shore when the photo was taken, and he did not notice anything unusual under the water.

The lake was very deep, and where Lancelot disappeared, only a small circle of ripples gradually remained, and soon it returned to its mirror-like calmness.

Harry shook his head. "Except for the low temperature that almost froze me to death, I didn't feel anything else. I was holding on to the shore the whole time. This suit of armor is very heavy. If I let go, I would sink to the bottom of the water."

Harry hurriedly wanted to change his clothes and walked towards the lake. "Let me go to the bottom of the lake and see if he will be in danger alone."

Draco grabbed Harry who was halfway there and said, "Don't worry, look up."

The goblin that was hit by the Stunning Spell moved a few times at the door of the vault, as if the effect of the spell had expired.

"Let's go up and control it first." Draco pulled Harry towards the vault door and at the same time quickly winked at Ed, suggesting that Ed should quickly pull Lancelot out of the water.

The goblin looked around the vault door with a distracted look. The scene in front of him was indeed very strange. He didn't know how much time had passed, but the door of vault 605 was still wide open, and there was no one inside. The piles of gold galleons in the vault had been moved to other places. There was a pile of gold and silver treasures where the fire dragon was originally tied. The two people who hurried in front of him were dressed strangely, one looked like a knight, and the other was wearing clothes similar to the fire dragon. Both of them raised their wands to him.

The goblin was always very sensitive when it saw the wizard raise his wand. It seemed to regain its senses in an instant. "What are you doing? Are you trying to attack Gringotts Wizarding Bank? Are you a robber?"

The new stunning spell was a beat slower than the goblin's time in sounding the burglar alarm, and the defense device had already been activated by the goblin.

"It seems they already know there's something wrong underground." Harry recalled his previous experience of breaking into Gringotts. "Last time we flew out on a dragon, but there are no dragons here now."

Draco quickly put the Galleons and other treasures back into the vault. "But we didn't steal anything, so it doesn't matter. Try to restore everything to its original place before they arrive, and don't let the goblins sense anything unusual. I think Lancelot must have seen something."

Harry saw Ed also jumped into the lake. He changed into a normal wizard robe and quickly collected all the decorations by the underground lake. He prayed silently in his heart that Ed would quickly take Lancelot out of the underground lake.

Soon, a group of goblins rushed into the underground vault aggressively. "Who is it that still dares to reach out his greedy hands after Gringotts has strengthened its security? Shameless, despicable wizards."

Draco took a step forward and acted arrogantly, trying to attract the goblin's attention. The underground lake was on the lower level of the vault. "I'm opening my own vault. I don't understand what you mean by greedy hands."

"Why was the defense device triggered?" The goblin helped his knocked-down companion up, trying to make him wake up immediately and report the crime of the person in front of him.

"You can search other vaults to see if they have been broken into or stolen. This will prove our innocence." Draco turned around in front of a group of goblins, keeping an eye on the movements in the underground lake out of the corner of his eyes.

Draco glimpsed a wrinkle on the lake surface below, and two heads popped out of the water. Draco raised his voice and complained, "Goblins treat their valued customers like this? As a current wizard employee of Gringotts, I have to feel ashamed of you."

The knocked-down goblin regained consciousness, hostility showing on his ugly face: "The two of them attacked me with magic wands. I fainted and knew nothing. But they left the treasures in the vault everywhere, and they were dressed strangely just now."

Harry secretly instructed Ed and Lancelot to quickly get away from the underground lake.

"I'm..." Draco drew out his voice, using a long-lost annoying tone, and spoke condescendingly to the goblin, "I'm taking out the treasures in my vault and cleaning them, using the anti-theft waterfall. I'm afraid you guys might do something under the guise of repairing the security system..." Draco turned around and pointed at Ed and Lancelot, who were soaking wet, "And by the way, have my servant count all the gold coins for me while they're cleaning to see if anything is missing. You know, it's a huge project, and I don't want to be disturbed by you. The Stunning Spell is just to let it sleep."

"You..." The goblin's ugly face twisted in anger, "You attacked our companions and slandered our innocence."

"Trust can only be given to those who are trustworthy." Draco glared fiercely at the goblin who came close to Lancelot to find out what was going on. "Stay away from my gold coins and my servants. You are just gatekeepers."

"You just borrowed the thief-proof waterfall, and didn't steal from other people's vaults or get close to anything else?" another goblin questioned, "We will investigate the theft immediately."

"As you wish." Draco shrugged, watching the goblin moving around with the testing equipment. "Once you have checked and nothing is missing, I suggest you let us go immediately and apologize."

The goblins scattered in all directions, leaving only a few who stared closely at Draco and the other three.

Draco then turned his head and looked at Lancelot, who was still wet, with a hint of doubt.

Lancelot lowered his voice and said, "There is a door below, similar to the door in the underwater dungeon. The water temperature gets higher the deeper you go. And the vertical distance here seems to be not far from the Muggle Downing Street."

The goblin saw them whispering and came closer, as if wanting to hear what they were talking about.

Draco simply switched to Parseltongue and spoke loudly to Harry: "Maybe we should come back another time. There seems to be a big problem in the underground lake."

Harry responded in Parseltongue: "I see. I'm not used to seeing your fierce look after such a long time."

The goblin added a bit of annoyance to the hissing, and swept the detection equipment around them more and more unwillingly.
