Harry Potter and the Beginning: Azkaban

Chapter 35: Neville, I'm Sorry

After seeing this scene, Megan's face showed a hint of joy. She increased her strength again and continued to stir the lake.

As time went by, the ripples on the lake became more and more obvious, and even the small boat on the lake began to shake.

You know, these little wizards were riding on a flat-bottomed boat, which does not have a very deep draft.

The shaking brought the boat to the brink of danger, and if not handled properly, it might capsize.

Such a change instantly frightened the little wizards so much that their faces turned pale and they started screaming.

"Ah, the boat is going to capsize, help!"

"Oh no, there is a monster in the lake. I saw it."

"Oh my God, what happened!"

……

"Crash!"

Along with the sound of rippling water, Hagrid glanced at the movement of the lake with a serious face, feeling uneasy in his heart.

Hagrid could no longer remember how many years it had been since such a change occurred. The academy was not unaware that there were monsters in the lake, and Hogwarts had even fought several battles with the magical creatures in the lake.

Later, for various reasons, the magical creatures in the lake finally reached an agreement with Hogwarts not to interfere with each other and to help the academy train the young wizards when necessary.

It wasn't long before one of the little wizards caught Hagrid's attention.

Hagrid knew this little wizard. This person was Megan, whom he had met once.

Even though they had only met once, Megan left a deep impression on Hagrid. To be honest, he had some prejudices against Megan.

At this time, the other little wizards all looked panicked, but Megan was very calm, not showing any sign of panic. One could even tell from the slightly raised corners of his mouth that he was very happy.

This look is obviously different from the others and seems out of place.

Hagrid also noticed that one of Megan's hands was inserted into the lake, and through the lake surface, he could see a faint blue light emanating from the palm of Megan's hand.

Seeing this, Hagrid frowned and shouted:

"Megan, what are you doing, take your hands out."

Hearing the shout, Megan looked up subconsciously.

When he found that Hagrid was staring at him, Megan smiled awkwardly and withdrew his hand from the lake.

It's not his fault. There are just too many ghosts in the lake, which makes Megan so envious that she even forgets why she is here.

Strangely enough, after Megan withdrew her hand, the ripples on the lake surface gradually began to calm down, and after a while, they completely returned to their previous calm.

After discovering this result, Hagrid was certain that it was definitely Megan's fault. He really wanted to catch this troublesome kid and give him a good beating.

Without Megan's interference, the boat arrived safely at the dock across the lake.

The extremely frightened little wizards couldn't wait to jump off the boat, scrambling to be the first.

Soon the entire dock was crowded with people, making the gravel on the ground crackle.

After everyone got off the boat, Hagrid glared at Megan, as if to warn her not to act up again.

"Alright, alright, stop arguing. You're all safe now. Please line up and follow me."

After calming down the little wizards a little, Hagrid took the lead and walked forward.

Led by Hagrid, they walked through a tunnel and up the steps to a huge oak door.

Hagrid walked forward, raised his sandbag-sized fist, and knocked it hard a few times.

After the sound, the huge oak door trembled, and slowly opened with a creaking sound.

At this time, Professor Minerva McGonagall, dressed in a dark green robe, had been waiting on the stairs for a long time.

Minerva's face was full of wrinkles and her expression was very serious. She wore black square-framed glasses and a pointed felt wizard hat.

That look was just like the legendary witch, and it frightened the little wizards so much that they dared not even breathe.

Hagrid was used to this and walked right up to him and greeted him.

"I have brought the first years to you, Professor McGonagall."

Minerva pursed her lips, nodded slightly, and thanked:

"Hagrid, please, just leave this to me."

After Hagrid left, Minerva stared at the group of young wizards at the bottom of the stairs with an expressionless face.

"Welcome to Hogwarts. Well, in a few moments, you will be walking through these doors. However, before you enter the dining hall for your meal, you must be sorted to determine which house you will be attending."

"There are four houses in Hogwarts: Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin."

"Don't worry. During your time at school, the college is like your home. Good performance can earn you points for the college. If someone in any college violates school rules, points will be deducted. At the end of the year, the college with the highest score will win the college cup."

Megan almost dozed off while listening to this and curled his lips in disdain. He didn't care about whether there were divisions among different colleges or not. What's the use of the college cup? Can it be eaten?

At this moment, a little wizard in the crowd shouted:

"Lefo!"

Megan looked at the toad on the ground, chuckled, a teasing look emerged in her eyes, and pretended that she was not standing firmly, and stepped on the toad.

"Paji!"

The toad named Leifu was instantly crushed and its intestines were squeezed out.

Then, a little wizard with a slightly fat body and a round face ran over.

This little wizard is Neville Longbottom.

When Neville saw Leif under Megan's feet, an ominous premonition suddenly came to his mind. He quickly pushed Megan away and lay on the ground looking at his pet.

"Get out of the way, you're stepping on my pet!"

Megan smiled secretly, took two steps back calmly, and thought to herself: You deserve to be single for the rest of your life and never find a girlfriend.

Looking at the flat creature in front of him, Neville couldn't accept this fact for a moment, and immediately cried out:

"Liv, what's wrong with you?"

Then, Neville turned his head and stared at Megan fiercely, as if he had some irreconcilable hatred with Megan.

"You have to compensate me, you have to compensate my Leifu."

Megan chuckled, stared and started talking nonsense.

"Hey, sorry, I thought it was a giant rat from nowhere, and it's still alive, isn't it?"

Neville looked at Megan in disbelief. Did he think he was blind? She lied so blatantly.

"Alive? Come on, let it move for me and see."

Watching the two arguing, the other little wizards began to whisper in the back.

“Oh, how miserable!”

"Yeah, that's tragic. I remember Neville had this pet for a long time."

"Who is this person? She looks pretty on the outside, but I didn't expect her to be so cruel on the inside. She even doesn't let pets go."

"I know, her name is Megan..."
