The journey to Teyvat from the Abyss Mage

Chapter 8 Yes, I am a wizard from another world.

In the Wolf Leader, Luo Mu followed behind Lei Ze tremblingly. Next to him, five or six big gray wolves were staring at him covetously.

As an abyss mage, Luo Mu was certainly not afraid of these wolves without elemental power—well, he was a little afraid, but what really made him tremble was the hand that Lei Ze placed on his shield. In his palm, purple lightning flashed continuously, and the occasional leaked power caused ripples on Luo Mu's water shield.

"If you, run, I, will, release you," is what Reize said.

Luo Mu was sure that if Lei Ze really released the power in his palm, he would most likely turn directly from blue to black, the same black as burnt charcoal.

So now he is extremely honest. Even if the wolves around him are scratching his shield frantically and threatening him with their teeth, he will not move. He will only swing his staff slightly when necessary to make his flying speed keep up with Lei Ze.

He was prepared to be a prisoner.

After turning left and right on the trail in the Wolf Territory and zigzagging for more than two hours, the treetops above their heads suddenly disappeared without warning, and the strong sunlight shone directly on the group of people... and the wolves. The dazzling sunlight made Lei Ze squint his eyes.

"We're here." Lei Ze said concisely.

Raising his hand to block the sunlight, Luo Mu saw that in front of him was a huge circular arena surrounded by rocks, which was half the size of his previous life's university campus. The stone ground under his feet was covered with wolf scratches and wounds caused by human weapons. The air was filled with various complex but thick and rich elemental forces, among which the most prominent were the three elemental auras of thunder, ice, and wind.

This is the trial ground of the King Wolf of the North Wind.

"It's really different." Suddenly, a howling north wind swept through the trial field, and a high and powerful voice resounded throughout the entire trial field. Hearing this voice, the wolves around Luo Mu who were originally restless all lay down docilely. Lei Ze also released his hand on Luo Mu and bowed slightly.

Boreas, the king wolf of the north wind, Luo Mu thought to himself. He quietly tightened the staff in his hand and gradually distanced himself from Lei Ze.

He knew that he couldn't run away now, but at least he couldn't be put in a situation where he was attacked from all sides. The farther away from his open opponent, the better.

Ice-blue streams of light rose from all over the trial field, dancing happily, and finally merged into a beam of light that surged to the center of the trial field. The light spots overlapped layer by layer, and accompanied by a soul-stirring wolf howl, a three-meter-tall sturdy giant wolf appeared in front of Luo Mu. It shook the dense blue mane on its shoulders and neck, and looked at Luo Mu with a smile.

"Don't be nervous. I can see that you are not the same as the Abyss Mage." Wang Lang's voice was solemn, with imperial authority and power.

Luo Mu lowered his head and said nothing. He didn't know what to say or what not to say in front of this old wolf who seemed to see through everything. So he decided to say nothing.

The wolf king didn't care about Luo Mu's attitude. He continued, "Your soul is clean, different from the dark and evil soul of the Abyss Mage. I know that you and Lei Ze are of the same kind. At least in terms of soul."

"...Yes." Having said this, Luo Mu already understood that Boreas had already seen the peculiarity of his soul: a human soul was stuffed in the body of this abyss wizard.

“But why such a pure soul would appear in the dirty body of the Abyss Mage? I don’t understand.” said Wang Lang.

Do you want me to answer your questions? What a coincidence, I don't know either. Luo Mu smiled bitterly. Seeing Wang Lang's eager eyes and thinking back to the traveler, Luo Mu suddenly had an idea.

"Sir Wang Lang, actually I was originally a wizard from another world. During a magic experiment, something went wrong, and the spell that was supposed to connect the two worlds mutated. It only teleported my soul over and landed on the body of an abyss wizard." Luo Mu's tone was filled with grief, as if he was still lamenting the terrible mistake of that experiment.

How else to say it? After I die, some unscrupulous system will think I am a dead otaku and throw my soul to the Abyss Mage of this world? This is not as reliable as a made-up story.

After listening to Luo Mu's explanation, Wang Lang nodded after thinking about it, and Lei Ze beside him also showed an expression of understanding.

No wonder a water-based abyss mage would use fireballs, it turns out his soul is also a mage.

It's so easy to fool. Luo Mu wiped the sweat off his forehead. If Wang Lang found out that he was lying, he would probably have to trouble Lei Ze to take his body off the wall.

"I already know your origins. Now, I will give you a chance to take the test. The longer you can hold on in the test, the more opportunities you will have to ask questions." Wang Lang said.

An opportunity to ask questions? Luo Mu's eyes lit up.

"Any question is fine?" he hastened to confirm.

"As long as I know it, it's fine."

"Okay, let's start now." Luo Mu couldn't wait any longer. There were some questions he had always wanted to figure out, and if he didn't ask now, he might never have the chance to know the answers.

The King Wolf didn't say much. He waved his claws to signal Lei Ze and the wolves to retreat, then stood in the middle of the trial field, facing Luo Mu.

"You decide when to start."

Luo Mu went over the questions he wanted to ask in his mind, took a deep breath, and said in a deep voice: "Let's get started."

As soon as the word "bar" came out of his mouth, the wolf king in front of Luo Mu disappeared. He only felt a huge figure passing by him, and the whole person was hit hard and flew away. He turned several times in the air before he could stabilize his body. Thanks to the fact that this attack did not add elemental force, the water shield did not break.

Is this the power of the Wolf King... Luo Mu did not panic. He immediately placed a circle of ice spikes around him, and then shot three fireballs at the afterimage left by the Wolf King as a counterattack.

"How can I turn back into a human?" Luo Mu took this opportunity to ask loudly. This was the question he wanted to know most, and as long as Wang Lang answered, he would have the opportunity to determine Wang Lang's location from his voice.

Powerful laughter came from all directions, as if a giant wolf was speaking in every direction: "Your idea is right, mimicry can help you achieve this goal, but ordinary deceptive flowers are useless!" For some reason, the last two words suddenly changed from powerful and ethereal to heavy and hoarse, and the feeling of being everywhere disappeared, and the voice came from a specific direction.

Here it comes! Luo Mu's heart tightened, and one of the three reserve spell slots was instantly activated. Luo Mu raised his staff high, and a strange spatial fluctuation came from the tip of the staff. At the moment when the huge wolf head pounced in front of him, a short-distance random teleportation was activated. Luo Mu disappeared out of thin air and appeared at the other end of the trial field, narrowly dodging this attack.

"Not bad." The wolf king's figure disappeared again, and his voice became ethereal and omnipresent again. "The mimicry of ordinary deceiving flowers is too weak. They can only transform into simpler species, such as flowers and plants. If you want the ability to mimic humans..."

"Go to Dragon Ridge Snow Mountain and try to deceive the Flower King!" The dark blue phantom reappeared and flashed towards Luo Mu's body. This time, Wang Lang used the power of ice!
