Li Zhao told the audience in the live broadcast room: "This passage was written in India. Women in ancient India really lived in dire straits."

"It happened to be a man who said this. He wrote down the phenomena he observed in the Buddhist scriptures, and then based on the doctrines he established, he concluded that it was difficult for women in ancient India to become Buddhas."

"But Buddhism originally preached that all beings are equal. Although it points out that women in the mortal world suffer, it also states that as long as women convert to Buddhism and practice hard, they can also be reborn in the Western Paradise."

Li Zhao described the strangeness of this statement: "If a man goes to the delivery room and sees women giving birth, he would say that women can only give birth and can't do other things. Is that right?"

The audience of the barrage denied this statement.

[Ragdoll Cat]: Of course not.

[What you said is right]: What an apt metaphor. This is exactly how it feels.

In the real world, Li Zhao glanced at the monks, nuns and Taoist priests below him and said: "The above content is all from the Hinayana Buddhism, which is wrong."

"The Buddha said that all living beings are equal. A lion kills countless lives, but by listening to the Dharma, it can still become a Buddha. Women do more good deeds and accumulate more virtues, so they can naturally become Buddhas too."

A monk from Ximing Temple stood up, put his palms together and bowed: "Buddha, your disciple Ximing Temple Jingxin has doubts."

"The first volume of the 'Pure Mind Admonitions and Contemplations' says that wherever there are women in the ten directions, there are hells."

"Women are the root of the sufferings of the three evil paths and eight afflictions."

"A woman who commits the ten evil deeds will be sent to the Iron Bed Prison after death."

Jingxin bowed his head and asked, "May I ask the Buddha, what is the meaning of this?"

"The Method of Purifying the Mind and Contemplating the Means" was written by the founder of the Nanshan Vinaya School, Master Daoxuan. He was an eminent monk in the early Tang Dynasty and the abbot of Ximing Temple. He passed away this year.

Li Zhao first calmed himself down secretly, then said, "Don't you understand this?"

"The first volume of the "Pure Mind Admonitions and Contemplation Methods" - "Admonitions and Contemplations against Monks and Nuns Who Have Broken Their Precepts and Do Not Practice the Dharma of Transcendental Life" also mentions the evil deeds of monks and nuns."

"In this article, Monk Daoxuan is only warning women not to do such evil things, otherwise there will be retribution."

Li Zhao said lazily: "Actually, you think too much. When people die and go to the underworld, there are judges who judge their sins according to the laws of the underworld and the laws of heaven."

"In the mortal world, women who abandon their husbands are treated with great severity, but in the underworld, it is not taken seriously at all. Unless it is a serious crime like murder or arson, generally, one cannot go to hell."

"So that's how it is." Everyone breathed a sigh of relief, especially the women.

It turns out that abandoning a man is not a big deal.

Li Zhao continued, "Women cannot become Buddhas, but this is just a narrow-minded view of Hinayana Buddhism. Mahayana Buddhism does not have such a view."

Jingxin put his hands together and smiled: "Disciple has learned the lesson."

Wu Jin Zang was still standing, and smiled slightly when she heard the words: "What the Buddha said is the Mahayana Buddhism's saying that if a woman is transformed into a man, she will immediately become a Buddha?"

A noble lady with a flying fairy bun and wearing a high-waisted half-sleeve skirt also stood up and bowed to Yudou Xuanzun: "Xuanzun, Buddha said that all living beings are equal, why do women have to transform into men to become Buddhas?"

"Doesn't this mean that women are inferior to men?"

"Yeah, how do you explain that?"

Under the lotus pedestal, the ladies frowned and talked among themselves, expressing the same doubts.

Li Zhao smiled and shook his head, saying, "No, the Mahayana Buddhist teaching of transforming a woman into a man does not mean this."

Li Zhao said: "The Nirvana Sutra says that the Tathagata nature is the masculine Dharma. If there are sentient beings who do not know that they possess the Tathagata nature, even though they have a male body, I would say that they are women."

"If there is a woman who knows that she possesses the Tathagata nature, even though she is a girl, I would say that she is a man."

“The men and women here do not refer to real men and women, but to those who have attained the Tao and those who have not.”

Li Zhao went on to give several examples: "In the fourth volume of the Lotus Sutra, the chapter on Devadatta, there is a story about a dragon girl who instantly attained Buddhahood."

"Even the girl named Modanga in the Shurangama Sutra was enlightened by Ananda and even attained enlightenment before Ananda. How is it impossible for a woman to become a Buddha?"

Li Zhao smiled and said, "As for changing from a woman to a man, you have misunderstood. A woman cannot become a Buddha simply by changing from a female body to a male body."

"It is that the woman becomes a Buddha first, and then the female body can manifest the appearance of a male body, but in fact she is still a female body."

Li Zhao also said: "The 'Bodhisattva Birth Sutra' also said that the people of that land all have female bodies. If they can achieve the three levels of enlightenment within one day and one hour, they will attain Buddhahood."

"In the chapter on observing all living beings in the Vimalakirti Sutra, Sariputra debated with the goddess, and the Buddha said that all dharmas are neither male nor female."

Li Zhao concluded: "Since the Buddha said that all living beings are equal and all appearances are false, then what is the difference between male and female appearances?"

"As long as you practice diligently, you will achieve success one day."

Wu Jin Zang's smile grew wider: "What the Buddha said, I will follow your instruction."

After listening to this inspirational speech in the barrage, I felt relaxed both physically and mentally.

[What you said is right]: I used to feel uncomfortable listening to other people giving me chicken soup, but I didn’t expect that I would listen to the host’s talk with great interest today.

[Weiyang Moon Is Not High]: It turns out that Buddhism does not favor boys over girls.

[What kind of cow or horse are you]: I misunderstood Buddhism before, v Buddha 50, please forgive me.

[Tang Jian]: I go to worship Buddha after get off work.

[A Thousand Changes to Poems]: Go upstairs, isn’t the electronic wooden fish nice?

[Green Grape Apricot]: However, there is one thing I hate about Buddhism. It says that women have lochia that never stops flowing, and it stigmatizes menstruation. I don’t like it.

Li Zhao noticed this comment and chuckled, "Then let's change this stinky rule!"

Li Zhao's eyes moved and he came up with another mythological story.

Li Zhao looked at the monks, nuns, Taoist priests, dignitaries, and ordinary people below, and said, "However, some of the rules of your Buddhist and Taoist families have been too outrageous recently."

"You said that women who are menstruating are unclean and are not allowed to enter temples to worship Buddha and pray to gods, for fear of offending the gods. Is this true?"

People from both Buddhism and Taoism felt a little embarrassed.

"Replying to Xuanzun, it is true. Because gods hate blood, we..."

Li Zhao snorted, "You ignorant mortal, how could a deity be disturbed by the bloody smell of menstruation?"

"The gods are not that fragile."

Li Zhao began his nonsense: "Speaking of menstruation, do you know why women in the mortal world have menstruation?"

The women didn't understand, and neither did the rest of the people.

Why do women always have continuous bleeding for a few days every month?

They bowed their heads respectfully: "We are ignorant, please forgive us, Master Xuan."

Li Zhao took the cup of tea handed to him by Ruyi and moistened his throat.

"This all started from when Nuwa mended the sky."
