Harry Potter and the Rebirth

Chapter 143 Christmas

It was already late at night and Hogwarts Castle was completely quiet with almost no one awake. Filch and the twin brothers were fighting in the corridor, with Peeves constantly making trouble.

Harry leaned back on the sofa, staring absentmindedly at the snow falling quietly outside the window, like the crackling of a burning match, reflected on his face.

Tomorrow is Christmas. Some of the little wizards in the castle have submitted their application to leave school and obtained signatures. They can take the express train home and stay for more than ten days.

Christmas, Harry murmured these two words in his mouth. He turned his head and looked at the pile of gifts next to him. These were the gifts he gave to his classmates. Almost everyone he knew had one.

What will I receive tomorrow? Harry looked at these with great anticipation. This was his first time celebrating this kind of festival. Usually at this time of year, he would just wander in the cold streets, looking through the glass windows at the tempting turkeys, the colorful Christmas decorations, and the lively scenes of laughter.

Now he is about to experience such a scene, so he went to the library to read all the books about this festival. It is obviously a matter of humans commemorating God, but the wizards copied it. However, it does not hinder the joy of this festival at all.

Is such a happy life really something he can have? People feel happier when they are close to happiness, but they worry about gains and losses when they are happy.

Harry stood up and opened the window, and then a dozen owls came in. He touched one of the gray-brown ones and took out a candy from his pocket. He looked down and saw that it was the lemon snowman that Sirius gave him that day.

Just as the owl was about to reach out its beak, Harry covered it with his hand, "No, this one's not for you."

Harry gently moved the little owl's head over, then rummaged through his other pocket and pulled out a licorice stick, then handed it to the owl, "Do you like this?"

The owl pecked his hand angrily.

Harry smiled and patted his head, "How can you be so cute? Even the strength is so light, how can this make people remember it?"

Suddenly, a bloody mark appeared on Harry's finger, and blood gushed out from it. The owl flew away in horror.

"Oh, sorry--" Harry looked at the spurting blood with interest. He had been playing the role of a student for a long time recently and hadn't smelled the scent of blood for a long time.

Then he conjured up a piece of cloth and roughly wrapped it around his wound.

Harry threw the lemon snowman in his hand into his mouth. The sour and sweet taste made him unable to help but dazzle his eyes.

"Please deliver these gifts to their beds."

When the owls heard these words, they swarmed over and then flew away at high speed. The little owl that was scared away by Harry turned around and looked at Harry, but Harry's eyes were on the white figure among the owls.

What is this? Harry's original owl Hedwig couldn't get close to him either. This was not okay. Before long, a green light flew out of Harry's wand, and the white figure seemed to be hit and disappeared in an instant. The wand struggled and resisted Harry's use of the spell.

So disobedient!

But I can't let this broken stick ruin my good mood for the holiday, Harry thought, and then tiptoed into his dormitory. He looked at the exquisite boxes piled under the beds of his three roommates with expectant eyes. What will they give me tomorrow?

Harry crawled into his bed, kicked a little, coiled up like a basilisk in the bed, and then fell asleep with hope.

It was just as Harry expected.

After waking up, the gifts still formed a small mountain even after all the packaging was removed.

The twin brothers gave him a bag of candies. The candies inside had strange shapes, various colors, and various smells. After seeing their prank props, Harry decisively threw the bag of candies aside.

What Hermione gave him was a thick notebook, which contained all the information about Quidditch, from its historical origins to its modern development, all the models of flying brooms and the companies that produced them, as well as their advantages and disadvantages. It also introduced the major teams in the current wizarding world and the grand Quidditch Cup.

Harry touched the beautiful handwriting on it. A movement with a wide audience and a national passion was slowly unfolding in front of him. This was really thoughtful. Harry gently placed the book on the bed.

There were also things given to him by various professors. Professor McGonagall gave him Advanced Transfiguration, which contained her understanding of various spells during her student days. Harry touched the yellowed paper and put it together with Hermione's book.

What Dumbledore gave him was a pair of socks with a piece of debris hidden inside. Harry was very curious about this combination. He took the fragment out of the socks and saw a pair of blue eyes flash by on it. Was it a two-way mirror?

Harry placed the pair of socks solemnly on the bedside.

Snape gave him a bottle of healing potion. What can I use to heal my wounds? Harry thought helplessly. He was the biggest villain in Hogwarts. How could he hurt himself?

There are also new candies from Honeydukes, a tower of chocolates, Muggle records...

Harry also found a thick sweater with a red base, and a big H knitted out of yellow wool, with a white wool around the collar.

Harry couldn't wait to put it on himself. The sweater exuded the scent of lavender.

"Ron, Ron, what did you give me?" Harry searched for a long time but didn't see any gift signed by Ron.

Ron also sat nearby with his own pile of gifts.

He turned around after hearing Harry's call, his expression normal, "Yes, could it be that you were too anxious when you opened the package? Didn't you notice it?"

"By the way, the sweater you're wearing was knitted for you by my mother." Ron pointed to the sweater he was wearing. Harry was very moved by the similar color scheme and familiar knitting method, and he ignored the matter of Ron's gift.

It wasn't until he, Ron and Hermione were on their way to the Great Hall that he thought of it again.

"What exactly are you giving me? Tell me." Harry thought about it carefully. Considering Ron's family background, maybe it was that bag of candy or that bar of chocolate?

"Secret - by the way, remember you have to -"

"What are you going to do this afternoon?" Hermione leaned over and asked curiously. She had obviously received a gift from Harry. Her usually fluffy hair had become smooth and was neatly draped over her shoulders, revealing her pretty face.

"I won't tell you--" the two people said in unison.

"Eh - there really are some little secrets between boys. By the way, after lunch, I will take the train back in the afternoon. You guys can have fun, but remember to complete the homework assigned by the teacher. Snape said that he will give you a small test after Christmas."

"Oh - don't mention it -" Ron covered his face and quickly walked around Harry and went to the front.

"Look at him, look at him--" Harry pointed to Ron in front of him and said to Hermione, "You too, remember to finish--"

Hermione treated both of them equally.
