Chapter 246 You are here too
At this moment, a familiar voice sounded in my ears: "Wang Qiang, you are here too."
Wang Qiang opened his eyes and saw Xu Damao standing in front of him with a bag full of fruits in his hand.
"Xu Damao, why are you in the park too?" Wang Qiang asked in surprise.
Xu Damao smiled and said, "I've been feeling pretty tired lately, so I came out to relax. How about you? You look pretty tired, too."
Wang Qiang nodded and said, "Yeah, the combination of work and yard matters is a bit overwhelming."
Xu Damao sat down next to Wang Qiang and his tone became sincere: "Wang Qiang, I know I have done many things that made everyone unhappy in the past, and I have been reflecting on them during this period. You have been helping us solve problems, and I am really grateful."
Wang Qiang looked at Xu Damao with mixed feelings. He knew that Xu Damao's words were not false, but it would take time for him to fully trust him.
"Xu Damao, as long as you sincerely repent, everyone will forgive you." Wang Qiang said calmly.
Xu Damao nodded, was silent for a while, and said, "I will try my best, Wang Qiang. If you need any help in the future, just come to me. I also want to contribute to the courtyard."
Wang Qiang felt a little relieved after hearing this. He knew that Xu Damao was really trying to change, which was a good thing for the entire courtyard.
The two chatted for a long time until it was getting dark, and then they returned to the courtyard together. Wang Qiang felt much better, and Xu Damao's attitude also gave him hope.
After returning home, Wang Qiang lay on the bed, thinking about today's experience, and felt unprecedented peace in his heart. He knew that the road ahead was still long, but as long as he had the support of friends and neighbors, the life of Siheyuan would get better and better. And he himself would continue to grow in the process and find true peace and satisfaction.
The next day, Wang Qiang cheered up and decided to continue working hard, but this time he learned to relax properly and no longer put all the pressure on his shoulders. He understood that only when he adjusted himself first could he help others better.
In the morning, Wang Qiang met He Yuzhu and Bai Rong in the yard. They were very happy to see that he was in high spirits.
"Wang Qiang, you look much better. Did you have a good rest yesterday?" He Yuzhu asked with a smile.
Wang Qiang nodded and said, "Yes, I feel much better after a day's rest. Thank you for your concern."
Bai Rong smiled and said, "As long as you are in good health, everyone is happy. If there is anything you need help with, just let us know. We will do our best to help you."
Wang Qiang is a well-known shrewd man in the courtyard, and nothing escapes his eyes. Today he got up early on purpose to implement a plan - to snatch Xu Damao's chicken.
Xu Damao was another resident of the courtyard. He was selfish and mean, and quarreled with his neighbors all day long. He loved his chickens very much, and got up at five o'clock every morning to feed them, fearing that someone would take advantage of them.
Wang Qiang decided to teach Xu Damao a lesson. So he quietly walked out of his room and crouched towards the chicken coop. It was not yet completely light, and the yard was silent. Only the sound of Wang Qiang's light footsteps and the sound of the chickens turning in the coop could be heard.
He carefully opened the chicken coop and gently took out a fat, big red rooster. The rooster struggled in his hands and clucked a few times. Wang Qiang quickly covered its mouth with his hand and whispered, "Be good, don't make a sound."
He quickly returned to his room, put the rooster into a sack he had prepared in advance, and hid the sack under the bed. Wang Qiang breathed a sigh of relief, wiped the sweat from his forehead, and felt very proud.
At this time, a cough was heard from Xu Damao's room, and it was obvious that he had woken up. Wang Qiang immediately returned to the window and pretended to enjoy the morning scenery. He saw Xu Damao walk out of the room and go straight to the chicken coop.
As soon as Xu Damao walked to the chicken coop, his face suddenly changed. The coop was empty and his beloved rooster was gone. He immediately flew into a rage and shouted, "My chicken! Who stole my chicken!"
His shouting alarmed the other residents of the courtyard, and they all leaned out of their houses to see what was going on. Wang Qiang pretended to be innocent, walked to the center of the courtyard, and asked with concern: "What's wrong, Xu Damao?"
"My chicken is missing!" Xu Damao said angrily, "Some thief must have stolen it when I wasn't paying attention!"
"Who would come to steal chickens so early in the morning?" Wang Qiang pretended to be puzzled. "Why don't we split up and look for them. Maybe the chickens have run to other places in the yard."
Other residents also agreed and expressed their willingness to help find the chicken. Everyone dispersed and searched carefully in every corner of the courtyard. Wang Qiang followed behind Xu Damao, pretending to help find the chicken while laughing in his heart.
After searching for several times without success, Xu Damao's face became more and more ugly. He stood in the middle of the yard, panting, his eyes full of anger and unwillingness.
Wang Qiang pretended to be enlightened, patted his head and said, "Oh, by the way, I heard that wild cats often come to the courtyard recently. Maybe they took it away."
Xu Damao's face darkened and he muttered to himself, "Maybe... But my chickens are tied to the cage. How bold would that cat be to steal them?"
"That's hard to say. Cats are very cunning." Wang Qiang said seriously, "Xu Damao, why don't you think about it carefully? Is there any other possibility?"
Xu Damao frowned, pondered for a while, and shook his head. "I can't think of any other possibility except the cat."
Seeing Xu Damao deep in thought, Wang Qiang was secretly happy, knowing that his plan was half successful. In the next few days, Wang Qiang carefully took care of the stolen rooster, fearing that it would be discovered.
Every morning, he would get up early, feed the rooster, and hide it well. Xu Damao continued to look for the missing rooster in the courtyard, but he never found any clues. His face became gloomier day by day, and he looked very worried.
One evening, Wang Qiang was preparing to clean up the chicken coop when he heard footsteps in the yard. He quickly hid the rooster and walked to the window, where he saw Xu Damao and several neighbors gathered together, seemingly discussing something.
"Xu Damao, it's no use looking like this." A neighbor said, "How about we go find Officer Liu and ask him to help check it out?"
Xu Damao nodded and sighed, "This is the only way. If I can't find my beloved chicken again, I really don't know what to do."
Wang Qiang was shocked when he heard this. If Officer Liu intervened, things would be troublesome. He had to think of a way to end this matter as soon as possible.
