Hogwarts: The Wizarding World's First Capitalist
Chapter 58: Controlling the Principal
Dumbledore was experienced in dealing with people like that guy.
That is to avoid a head-on confrontation with the other party, and try to find someone with a simple mind and easy to manipulate to do bad things in secret.
A natural fool, naturally restrained from being treacherous.
A certain Magizoologist on the other side of the ocean sneezed.
But now, Old Deng could only sigh secretly, as he seemed to have lost this opportunity.
He could only look at Karl helplessly and said.
"I hope you can really do as you said and not pursue excessive power."
"The British wizarding world can no longer bear another Dark Lord."
Carl was disdainful but also a little angry when he heard this. He looked dimly at the old man in front of him.
The tone was no longer as calm and playful as usual, but rather serious and revealing a hint of disdain.
"Sure enough, from the moment I came into your sight, you and many of those idiots at the Ministry of Magic."
"You all subconsciously imagine me as the next generation of Voldemort. This is not only an insult to me, but also an exposure of your IQ."
As he spoke, Karl stood up slowly and looked up and down at this luxurious principal's office.
He seemed to be looking for something, he was looking for the audience, from the moment he stepped through the door.
The portraits hiding somewhere were constantly scanned by the pair of sapphire eyes until all the portraits hiding in the corners were seen.
Forcing everything back into his own frame, Carl said calmly.
"Now that the audience is here, I will tell you about Voldemort, the man you have always feared."
"What do you think? My assessment is very simple. He is a person who lacks intelligence, has no sophistication, and is a complete pervert."
"What era is this now? It's so low-brow to still engage in racism."
"It's disgusting to smell, but kind of funny to look at."
Dumbledore was shocked again, and everyone, including the portraits hanging everywhere, looked surprised.
Looking at Carl standing in the middle of the principal's office, these portraits were not chattering and arguing like before.
He just looked at Carl silently, his eyes full of confusion and fear, wanting to escape from his own painting.
Every time he saw those seemingly gentle blue eyes, he didn't dare to move at all.
Dumbledore had nothing to say and could only silently change the subject.
Looking at the pile of papers on the table, he sighed.
"Well, don't mention that name again. Come on, Mr. Hohenzollern, give us your proposal."
"I know you're ready."
Yes, that’s right. Carl was very satisfied with this. Old Deng finally regarded himself as someone with whom he could have an equal dialogue.
Instead of treating yourself like a child as before, with a defensive and contemptuous attitude towards yourself.
This change in mood made Carl very satisfied, and he walked quickly to the principal's desk.
He simply swept the more than 10 pages of materials in front of him to the ground, then slowly took out a piece of paper and handed it to the other party.
"This is a summary of the lawsuit materials, a fool-proof version. I think you should be able to understand it."
Hearing this, Dumbledore was a little angry and glared at him, but said nothing. He continued to listen to the other party's next offer.
Karl didn't have any intention of greeting and spoke directly.
"The conditions are very simple. Professor Binns' position as Professor of History of Magic must be replaced."
"I've picked the man for you, Gilderoy Lockhart."
"What!!!" Dumbledore was a little confused. He thought the other party did so much because he wanted to stay in school.
He arranged one of his own people to take up this position, but according to his understanding, Carl and Mr. Lockhart seemed to have no intersection.
Karl also saw the confusion in the other person's eyes and said with disdain.
"There's no need to do this. Do you really think I would be so stupid?"
"I've done all this just to plant one of my own into Hogwarts, not to mention that I know nothing about the wizarding world."
"Even if there are so-called close friends, I can't possibly do something so obvious. Wouldn't that just hand the evidence to you?"
When saying this, Carl had already completely assumed the role of the future Dark Lord that Dumbledore had arranged for him.
The tone was sharp and sarcastic, which made Dumbledore very embarrassed, and he could only laugh it off.
"You misunderstood. I never had such an idea, but as far as I know, this Mr. Lockhart."
"I have no real talent or knowledge. My only achievement is being a famous novelist."
"Is there something wrong in letting him take this position?"
"No, no!" Carl waved his finger in denial, "You are talking about the wrong principal, or your perspective is wrong."
"This Mr. Lockhart is indeed just a vase. How could he be chosen to be a professor at Hogwarts?"
“Unless the selectors are blind, but this is also limited to the subject, if it is other important positions.”
"Defense Against the Dark Arts, for example, is definitely not an option, but History of Magic, and that's appropriate, so to speak."
"After all, it's history. The most important thing is the story. Mr. Lockhart's talent can be used in this."
"At least having a novelist tell the history lesson is better than having all the students lie down and sleep."
Unable to refute, this was Dumbledore's first feeling, and at the same time he felt that this kid had said such a long string of words.
It seemed like he was implying to himself, could he be that kind of person? How could he be so blind as to be that old?
Letting a person with no real talent or knowledge take on such an important position as professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts.
You have to know that my vision in selecting professors for this course is very unique.
But even so, Dumbledore still did not intend to give in and tried to struggle again.
But Carl didn't give him a chance and continued to speak to himself.
"As for Professor Binns, I have made arrangements for him. He can serve as the Honorary President of the Historical Research Association of the British Wizarding World."
"Even if the association has not yet been established, I think with your reputation and ability, it should be easy to do."
"In this case, Professor Binns no longer has an employment relationship with Hogwarts, and this lawsuit will naturally not be effective."
As he spoke, he pointed a finger and emphasized his tone.
"Of course, this can only be lifted after Hogwarts pays off Professor Binns' nearly 100-year-long salary."
"Considering that he has no chance to spend this reward, I suggest that this reward be used."
"The allocation is based on the number of students in each college, which reflects Professor Binns' selflessness and greatness."
"It also demonstrates the fairness and rigor of the school, killing two birds with one stone."
Numb, completely numb, Dumbledore was no longer complete and could not utter even a word.
He really couldn't imagine that nearly half a century later, he could still be manipulated by someone to this extent.
What made him even more unable to let go was that this guy had a complicated relationship with that guy.
Compared to Dumbledore who was completely numb, Carl felt unusually comfortable at this moment.
He could imagine the praise he would receive when he told this news to other classmates.
I am indeed a good person who likes to seek benefits for my family.
