Led by the waiter, Cedric and Carl walked into the Waldorf Astoria Hotel.

Due to the special nature of today's banquet, the entire corridor is decorated with American flags, and blue and white become the main colors this time.

“Are these all the American presidents who held campaign parties here?”

Cedric couldn't help asking as he looked at the oil paintings of people hanging in the corridor.

Carl slowly stopped and turned to look at the paintings.

These oil paintings are basically of American presidents, including some famous ones, such as President Theodore Roosevelt, who was known as the trust buster.

Woodrow Wilson at the Paris Peace Conference, and the most famous American president.

As a disabled person, he led a paralyzed country out of the shadow of the economic crisis and won the Second World War.

President Franklin Roosevelt completed the transfer of hegemony with Britain and brought more than 6000 degrees of warmth to the people of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

His portrait was placed in the most prominent place, and the frame was twice as large as that of others.

However, compared to the huge poster next to him, this great sage does not seem so prominent.

At the main entrance of the reception room, a huge campaign poster was hung directly above the reception room.

The poster is designed in the unique American exaggerated style, with blue and white tones and other national flag colors, plus a huge character portrait and a campaign slogan in gold-plated font.

“It’s the economy stupid.”

After walking through the corridor to the reception room, Cedric and Carl were quickly led to their seats by the waiter.

The dining table was covered with a gorgeous blue lace tablecloth, while the tableware and decorative flowers were all white in color.

Various drinks had already been placed on the table, including luxurious French champagne, strong bourbon whiskey, and some cocktails that were easy for women to drink.

A band was playing relaxing and slow music, people were wearing gorgeous clothes, and the sounds of conversation, laughter and clinking of wine glasses were intertwined.

Almost no one was idle, except Cedric and Carl, who were sitting alone at a dining table.

Carl drank calmly, while Cedric was like a mole that suddenly dug through the ground.

He turned his head and looked around, appearing a little nervous.

"Why are you so nervous?" Carl put down his glass and looked at the other person, saying jokingly.

"No one cares about your nice little belly, it's well covered by your clothes."

"What are you talking about?" Cedric shouted loudly, a little exasperated, and then realized that his voice was too loud.

He quickly leaned down and pressed close to Karl, pointing around and speaking in a low voice.

"I'm just a little uncomfortable with this kind of situation. Most of the people around me are about the same age as our parents."

"They're all walking around and socializing, and we're just sitting here. Isn't that a bit out of place?"

Carl looked at the guy in front of him with a smile. He did not answer the other's question, but just stretched out his right hand and raised it high.

Then he flicked his head on the other person's fair forehead.

With a muffled sound, Cedric bent down with his hands on his forehead. When he looked up again, tears appeared in his eyes.

"What are you doing? It hurts, don't you know?"

Carl ignored the other person's anger and just opened the bottle of Jack Daniel's whiskey beside him.

Ask the waiter for two wine glasses filled with ice and sparkling water, and divide the wine in the bottle into two portions.

He took one of them and placed it on Cedric's forehead, then smiled through the transparent amber liquid.

"Chill it. If you get a bump on your head, it won't look good when you dance. What we just did was quite unconventional."

"Look around you, does anyone care about what we two do?"

Hearing this, Cedric took the wine glass, cooled his forehead with it, and looked around slyly.

The result was just as Carl said, the people around them who were busy socializing seemed to completely ignore the two of them.

It was as if the two of them were just air and didn't exist at all.

"Why?" Cedric asked in confusion.

Karl smiled faintly, put the business card on the dining table for the two of them in front of Cedric, and motioned for him to take a look.

Cedric picked up the name tag and read the words on it in confusion.

"MG Biopharmaceuticals Ltd."

"What does this mean, when did we become the people of this company."

"Of course you haven't heard of it." Carl continued with a smile, "Because this company was established less than a month ago."

"And this is a company that makes biopharmaceuticals using 'magic potions'. These Muggles have certainly never heard of it."

“To these people, we are nothing more than political speculators in a startup company, a bunch of old gentlemen living in high society.”

"Of course, there is no need to communicate too much with us. Once our new drug is on the market, the "invisibility curse" on us will naturally be lifted."

"So that's how it is." Cedric nodded thoughtfully, and then seemed to have thought of something.

He quickly pulled Karl to his side and asked in a low voice with a nervous look on his face.

"What did you just say? Potions. You used potion materials to make so-called medicine. This is a serious violation of wizard law."

"It's been less than a month since you were acquitted. What are you going to do? Don't forget when we just got off the plane."

"Those guys from the Magical Congress of the United States of America are not very friendly to us."

Carl, who was suddenly pulled by Cedric and had the wine spilled all over him, put the glass on the table gracefully.

He picked up the napkin beside him and wiped his shirt, then turned his head and held Cedric's face with both hands.

While pulling it to the sides with all his strength, he roared as quietly as possible.

"Can you shut up? Are you a child? Why do you have so many questions? I brought you to the party."

"I just want you to get in touch with this kind of environment in advance. I don't want you to be the one asking questions. I have my own plans."

"How do you think I made my first fortune in New York?"

“How did you make money?” Cedric’s face was hurt by Carl’s pulling, but this guy seemed like a curious golden retriever.

Even if it is beaten with slippers by its owner, it will still do annoying things about the things it is curious about.

Karl was really helpless, he could only continue to pull Cedric's face with his hands while giving tough orders.

"Don't ask any more questions. Your task today is to dance with me at the end of the party."

"If you dare to ask questions again, believe it or not, I will make you eat hay every day for a whole semester after I return to school."
