Tomb Raider Bronze Door Twins

Chapter 144 It’s time for them to go home

Zhang Qiling stared at Yan Bugun without moving his eyes, as if saying, "Hurry up."

His urging was naturally noticed by Yan Bucun. He acted very quickly, without even giving Zhang Qiling time to blink. In almost an instant, the jade brick was pushed two fingers deep by an unknown force, and all the red lines that were originally hidden flowed into the gap between the brick and the bottom.

The sound of machinery being forcibly turned came from the golden statue, which caused Zhang Qiling to have a slight tinnitus, while Yan Bucun's face turned pale. He bit his lips tightly, causing them to bleed, but he did not stop.

The mechanism here is really complicated.

There must be a passage behind the golden statue. The people who built it must have left a way out for themselves. Yan Bucun used the red line to explore whether there was a gap between the golden statue and the inner wall, so that there could be room to reserve a control mechanism.

The red line meandered towards a place where it could accommodate, almost covering the entire interior of the golden statue. Countless flowing mercury was like a bottle of water that would pour out mercilessly if he made the slightest mistake. Yan Bu-cun did not dare to relax.

He couldn't explain the control of the red line, it was probably an innate ability of the Yan family, but being able to master it required more talent. Some people might never see those interweavings in their lifetime, some people might only be able to transform a line less than the length of a finger throughout their entire lives, while some people might be able to turn it into a deadly weapon in just a few seconds, minutes and hours.

There have only been three geniuses in the Yan family, first Yan Guangxin, then Yan Bucun, and one, Fu Fu, who had died long ago.

All of Yan Bucun's attention had reached the top of the golden statue, touching the sunken eye sockets on the inner wall.

"Stop." Zhang Qiling changed his mind.

He was not blind, and he couldn't pretend not to see Yan Bucun's struggling look.

But Yan Bucun closed his eyes and comforted Zhang Qiling, "It will be soon."

Those densely packed lines blocked out the sky and quickly swallowed up all the light from Zhang Qiling's flashlight, making it so that Zhang Qiling, who still wanted to speak, couldn't even tell where Yan Bucun was.

The eye sockets, the bridge of the nose, the long cascading hair... not upwards, but downwards. The red line moved flexibly and finally turned into a sharp triangular head like a snake, which suddenly pierced into the junction between the golden statue half-man and the lower body of the fish. A mechanism of such height could not be touched even by the Chen family's nine-claw hook.

After Yan Bucun opened the mechanism, the red line faded away completely. He reached out his hand, but did not dare to grab Zhang Qiling's wrist again. He just took a few breaths as if he had fallen into the water, and then tapped the other's shoulder, "Let's go..."

As soon as he finished speaking, Zhang Qiling heard the sound of mercury flowing retrograde. The sound all rushed towards the golden statue's Lianquan and finally reached the top of its skull. When all the mercury was stored upward, the mechanism in the waist and abdomen of the golden statue clicked into action, causing the huge human-shaped upper body to monopolize the mercury and become a container that would not hinder the area below.

The jade brick on the base in front of him suddenly bounced back to its original position, and the gap on the side became larger, and a door was about to open.

Yan Bucun led the way in front. Zhang Qiling felt something strange when he saw that man looked uncomfortable but didn't say anything.

There were no corpses in the corridor here, which meant that no one had ever successfully entered the golden statue. They were the first.

Yan Bucun once again used his energy to release his senses. He could clearly hear the even breathing and a loud slap in the secret room. Obviously, Zhang Qiling behind him only had strong five senses, but he didn't have his ability to cheat. This made him reply to the person behind him, "If you are worried, I will be faster."

Zhang Qiling followed his steps and replied calmly.

When the new stone door was pushed open, a sound suddenly came from behind Zhang Qiling. It turned out that after they left, mercury fell directly and formed a wall that could not be turned back.

Zhang Qiling turned around without any hesitation and continued to follow Yan Bucun.

When Zhang Qiling saw Wu Mi and Jie Yuchen tied together, and the fat man tied alone opposite, the anger in his heart rose, but he just squatted down and gently peeled off the tape on their mouths.

"Chen Shisan is missing." Seeing that everyone was still asleep, Yan Bucun didn't pretend to be a shy stutterer.

After Zhang Qiling untied everyone's ropes one by one, he checked their neck arteries and breathing. Fortunately, they were just asleep. When he had some free time, he moved his gaze to Yan Bucun. He could see with the naked eye that the human skin mask at the bend of the other's jaw was loose and tilted up. So he tapped his cheek, indicating that Yan Bucun's human skin mask was about to fall off.

Yan Bucun put his hand on his face, pressed his raised part, and moved a few steps towards Zhang Qiling, coming in front of him, "Yours too..."

Before he could finish his words, Wu Yu was the first to open his eyes. Yan Bucun pressed urgently, almost making Zhang Qiling's cheek red.

Not pressed!

The moment Wu Yu saw Zhang Qiling, he shrank suddenly. The look of astonishment made Zhang Qiling subconsciously think of Yan Bucun's previous action.

Any attempt to cover up will only make it more obvious. Alarm bells rang in Zhang Qiling's heart, but he acted as if nothing had happened.

"Awake." Zhang Qiling felt like he was just making small talk.

He had imagined many masks falling off, and Wu Yu's questioning expression, with doubt, anger, sadness, and hatred...

But Zhang Qiling would never know that Wu Yu's expression was just one of sadness and understanding. His principle of putting his brother first, in the end, finally led to his concern for himself.

Wu Yu said, "I knew it." But he pressed his entire back against the cold rock wall and said, "I knew it... I knew it was you."

His calmness made Zhang Qiling a little unbelievable.

But Zhang Qiling couldn't bring himself to ask, "Don't you blame me? Why don't you ask me why I did this? Why don't you ask Zhang Qiling again, is my weight now finally equal to his?"

His emotions were now a mess, but he didn't know what to say. Wu Yu's speed of acceptance was beyond his imagination.

The fat guy didn't know how he fell asleep again. He only heard half of the conversation, so when he saw Zhang Qiling, he knew that his guess had also come true.

"Really, it's really Brother Qi Ling!" The fat man shouted, making Wu Yu's silence seem even more obscure.

Zhang Qiling touched the loose bandage on his face, revealing the fake wound that was about to fall off. He thought that if he had known that Wu Mi and Fatty's attitude towards him would not be so ruthless, perhaps it would be better to talk it out.

But when Xie Yuchen was looking at the relatives' recognition scene in confusion, Wu Yu suddenly slapped himself hard, which made half of his handsome cheek red and even left a clear slap mark with five fingers.

Zhang Qiling tried to intercept, but suddenly heard the sound of weapons clashing, and the bell in his pocket rang at an inopportune time, but he didn't have time to destroy the bell.

In an instant, everyone's expression suddenly changed.

The lights of the flashlights in everyone's hands shattered, and all the light dimmed, just like the scene in a horror movie when someone is about to be chased.

Yan Bugun could not sense Zhang Qiling's presence, his perception was blocked by the bell. He moved and tried to grab him, but his hand fell into empty air.

Because the wind came... and brought with it a soft glow, Zhang Qiling was stunned by the wind, and the next moment he was knocked to the ground by Wu Yu.

He realized that it was not the wind, but a punch that Wu Yu had thrown with all his strength.

Zhang Qiling looked at the ghost seal, which inexplicably did not use anything to support it, but climbed onto Wu Yu's shoulder as if it had a life. The light made Wu Yu's handsome face look hideous, revealing his undisguised hatred.

The water covered Zhang Qiling's head. He was in so much pain that he dared not breathe. The wound on his shoulder gradually split open. In the darkness where no one could see, only Wu Yu was able to see his blood clearly with the visible light. In the end, the scarlet blood was washed away by the running water, as if Zhang Qiling had brought this pain upon himself.

Wu Yu changed his attitude of accepting it just now and became completely crazy, gritting his teeth and saying, "Zhang Qiling, why not you, why must it be you!"

Zhang Qiling was confused, and Xie Yuchen and the fat man were also dumbfounded when they heard this.

He had clearly accepted it, he clearly knew it, but why did he do this? Zhang Qiling moved his hand towards the painful bronze bell in his down jacket pocket, but there was no way to stop it from ringing.

"Tian Zhen, what are you doing?!" The fat man's pants fell into the water and he couldn't lift his legs, but he still tried desperately to move towards Wu Yu and Zhang Qiling.

The fat man's joy at recognizing each other just now faded away in an instant, and there was only disbelief in Wu Mi's behavior in his eyes.

Xie Yuchen was the closest to the two of them. He put his hands under Wu Yu's armpits and tried hard to pull him up. "Wu Yu! Do you know what you are doing?"

But Wu Yi was really crazy. He desperately grabbed Zhang Qiling's collar and refused to let go. His hanging clothes, bloated backpack, and the weight of his entire body were all pressing on Zhang Qiling.

Xie Yuchen didn't expect that a person soaked in water would be so difficult to pull.

Yan Bucun found his position from their intense movements, but before his red line could react, Wu Yu's hand had already grabbed Zhang Qiling's neck.

"Zhang Qiling! Why didn't you leave me? Why didn't you take on those responsibilities? Why is it that you, whom I have been chasing after, are no longer the 70 who truly treats me?!"

Wu Yu's tears fell and stirred into the water in front of Zhang Qiling. He cried heartbreakingly:

"Zhang Qiling, I hate you! What qualifications do you have to pretend to be a little brother and deceive me!!!"

Ripples...all ripples. Zhang Qiling's vision was blurred. His will to survive made him want to stand up, but he was in Wu Yu's hands and he would eventually compromise.

He thought about the tears that fell, one drop after another, counting them as if they were treasures, counting how many times he had deceived Wu Yu.

Did it start from when Wu Yu secretly left and went to Yunnan? Did it start from when he knew Wu Yu was chasing him but deliberately avoided him? Did it start from when he pretended to be a younger brother, pretending that nothing had happened, and lived under the name of others?

When Xie Yuchen heard this, he began to be distracted. He seemed to have just seen a glimmer of light, heard the complaints, and smelled the ringing of a bell... As an outsider, he actually let go of Wu Yu and inexplicably put his hand on Zhang Qiling's shoulder.

He became an accomplice without hesitation.

"What the hell are you doing! This is murder, murder!!!" The fat man was still saying this, but eventually he couldn't help but join in, and in this massacre, he mercilessly held down Zhang Qiling's head.

The only one who was not affected was Yan Bushun. Perhaps only people who were not in that period would know that he was just deaf and blind, which was why he escaped the coordinated killing of so many people.

Yan Bucun obviously didn't understand the change, but when he hooked the ghost seal on Wu Yu's shoulder with the red line, he clearly saw that the movements of the three people became much lighter.

During this period, Zhang Qiling did not struggle at all. He just lay quietly in the water, feeling the suffocation, pain, and the noisy abuse from a bunch of people.

"You don't understand how long Tian Zhen and I have been looking for you. How dare you pretend to be a young man and deceive us?!" the fat man said indignantly.

Even Xie Yuchen said, "The ones you feel most sorry for are those who wanted to find you!"

The sound gradually died down.

After Zhang Qiling regained his freedom, he found that Yan Bucun had tied them up with red ropes, hung them on the wall, blocked their mouths, and let them sleep sweetly again.

Yan Bucun was holding the ghost seal in his hand, with Wu Di's clothes hanging on the bottom of the seal. It seemed that because they could not destroy it, they turned to the coat and then forcibly cut it off. However, no matter how tight the red thread was or how sharp the dagger was, it would not leave a single scratch on it.

"They don't really hate you, they are just controlled..." Yan Bugun gave up studying the Ghost Seal and threw it away casually. As a result, before he heard the sound of it being thrown into the water, he found that the Ghost Seal had returned to Wu Yu's body.

Speechless for a moment, Yan Bucun didn't know what to lament about. He just ignored the ghost seal that had recognized its master and chose to comfort Zhang Qiling. He wanted to help him up and treat the injury on his shoulder, but the other party turned his head away and didn't look at him.

This made Yan Bucun's eyes dim a little, but his words remained steady, "Weren't they fine before they were affected by the bronze bell and the ghost seal? I will find a way to destroy them. Ah Qi, you get up first. It's too cold to stay in the water."

Zhang Qiling lay in the water and didn't reply for a long time. He looked frighteningly quiet. Although there seemed to be no luster in his eyes before, the deep lake water always made people fall into it.

But now, Yan Bucun has truly realized it.

The dead pool is far darker than the lake.

Even if Zhang Qiling knew that they were being controlled, he would only treat it as their unspoken true feelings. It is not scary for an extrovert to go crazy, but what is scary is the most taciturn person. He will almost spend his entire life wasting time on internal energy and always impose the sins on himself. Yan Bucun knew that he and Zhang Qiling were exactly such people.

So, maybe, it is destined not to have a good result,

Because they can't learn to love themselves.

"I also have people I feel sorry for." This was the first time Yan Bucun told Zhang Qiling about his own affairs.

This made Zhang Qiling, who was lying in the water blowing bubbles, finally stand up. Perhaps due to the lubrication of the water, there were no obvious finger marks on his neck.

Yan Bucun then said, "I ate my own savior."

Zhang Qiling looked up at him calmly, and Yan Bugun also bent over, smiling lightly as if he didn't care, but he knew that he had been struggling with the past all his life.

"Then." Zhang Qiling's voice was not eroded by the water and was too hoarse. He was probably asking about the follow-up.

The other party looked at him for a long while before replying, "Nothing happened."

Zhang Qiling didn't have the curiosity to get to the bottom of things. He just looked at the three people who were tied to the wall and wanted to do something to him even though they were asleep. He suddenly smiled. It wasn't that kind of nonchalant smile, but he just felt that this farce should end.

"Put it down." Zhang Qiling said, and then said, "It's time for them to go home."
