Hogwarts in the shadows

Chapter 20 Snape's Private Lesson

"Stand behind the crucible, turn up the fire, and add one ounce of the juice of the biting vine." Professor Snape's voice echoed in the office.

As soon as he finished speaking, Hephes sprang into action.

It was so sudden, and it was still a familiar taste.

The crucible has been set up and various materials are neatly placed aside.

Hefeth took out a series of experimental instruments from the small bag - thermometer, test tubes, conical flasks, wide-mouth bottles and narrow-mouth bottles.

He got these from Imperial College London. They are of excellent quality and won't break even if you throw them on the ground.

Hephes lit the flame to preheat the crucible, then took the vine, cut a small hole, and dripped the liquid into the test tube.

Snape glanced sideways but did not object, continuing to command Hephesus.

Snape spoke very quickly, and his prompts were all on point.

This made Hephis very busy, but when he became familiar with Snape's rhythm, his operation became more and more relaxed, and the potion gradually took shape.

Although Snape's tone was still sarcastic, the satisfaction on his face became more and more intense.

Hephis might still need to improve in terms of creativity, but in terms of rigor, he was definitely the best little wizard Snape had ever seen.

He weighed each material accurately, and would make it turn thirteen and a half turns without exceeding one degree.

After the potion took shape, Hephis finally had time to look up at Snape.

Although Snape's expression quickly returned to indifference, he still caught the fleeting smile.

Hephes was very happy in his heart, as this would bring him closer to Snape.

Ever since he came into contact with Alchemy, he understood that when it comes to brewing potions, all that matters is: rigor, rigor, and damn rigor.

Snape stood next to Hephis and examined the potion carefully.

"It won't kill you." Snape said coldly.

Hephis was about to speak when Snape continued.

"Pour it out. This is a tonic. You can make it yourself later. I don't have the time."

"Then, can I have this pot of potion?" Hephis asked tentatively.

"Hogwarts doesn't need this little money for potions." Snape said without even raising his eyelids.

"Thank you, Professor." Hephaestus happily poured the potion into the bottles, three bottles in total.

"Given your current condition, one bottle a week."

"Okay, Professor."

"Now, leave." He turned and walked towards the desk.

"That professor, I just want to discuss something with you."

Snape turned and looked at Hephaestus.

"Professor, I want to ask if you have any potion that can strengthen the body? I want to learn."

"It seems that Mr. Dam wants to develop into a troll."

"No, Professor. I just think that if I were strong enough, my physical problems might be solved."

Snape was silent for a moment.

"It seems that Mr. Dam does not trust the professors' judgment and is prepared to find a way to solve the problem himself."

"No, Professor, of course I trust you very much. It's just that I'm a little anxious and want to resolve it as soon as possible." Hephis defended.

"Madam Pomfrey will find a way."

"But Professor, I think you should..."

Before Hephis could finish his words, Snape waved his wand.

Hephes felt a huge force throwing him out.

"Professor Snape, I will be back." Hephis rubbed his butt and shouted helplessly.

Fortunately, there was no one in the corridor, otherwise, Hephis would have done the same thing.

I don't know if it was Hephis or Snape who died.

In the Great Hall, Hephis finally saw Hermione.

He sat down at the Gryffindor table with ease.

The little lions tilted their heads to look at him and then continued eating. After all, this was not the first time.

"Hermione, good evening!" Hephis greeted.

"Hephis, why are you sitting here?" Hermione was a little surprised.

"What's wrong? Can't I sit here? Do you have someone else behind my back?" Hephis joked.

"No, no, you're like this again." Hermione sighed helplessly. This guy always likes to say things that can be misunderstood.

She leaned close to Heffies' ear and said in a low voice, "Gryffindors and Slytherins are not very friendly with each other."

"So it turns out that Hermione doesn't want to be friends with a Slytherin like me!" Hephis pretended to be sad.

"Ah! I didn't." Hermione explained hurriedly, and her cry attracted the attention of people around her.

She stepped on Hephis's foot shyly, "I'm ignoring you."

"Don't! I was wrong. I was just teasing you. I know you wouldn't do that." Hephis apologized quickly.

Seeing that Hermione still didn't say anything, Hephis continued to add: "We want to be good friends who share the same quilt. I believe in you."

Hermione then smiled and raised her little head somewhat proudly.

"Hermione, why haven't you eaten well these past two days? I haven't seen you in the Great Hall."

"Nothing, I just ate early. I guessed you would come at this time, so I specially... No, I just happened to have something to do today, so I'm a little late."

"Thank you, Hermione."

"You guy..." Hermione lowered her head embarrassedly.

"What do you have planned for a while?"

"We should go to the library to look up information, but if you don't want to go..." Hermione's face started to turn red again before she could finish her words.

"Library? That's great. I want to go there too."

"When did you become so fond of studying?" Hermione asked puzzledly.

"I have always loved studying, okay? I love studying and my skin is great." At the end of his speech, Hephis started singing.

"What a mess, there are people watching us, don't..." Hephis interrupted her before she could finish her words.

"That's because I'm so handsome."

"Hephis~~~" Hermione interrupted the spell with her baby voice.

"Okay, let's eat and then go to the library."

"Hephis, I heard you had a fight. Are you hurt?" Hermione asked with concern.

"It's okay. Look at how much I eat. Do I look like I'm injured?"

"That's good. Did Professor Snape punish you?"

"What else can it be? It's just confinement. But I actually like being put in confinement by him."

Hermione looked at him in confusion, "You actually like detention?"

"Of course I don't like it, but Professor Snape is the head of our college after all. He will teach me some knowledge about potions."

"Professor Snape gives you special treatment?" Hermione was a little jealous.

"Of course. Professor Snape is a bit harsh, but he is still a good person."

The little lions who heard it all showed surprised expressions.

Hephaestus! Slytherin, that's all right.

"Did you lose points from the school?"

“It has to be!”

"No points deducted."

"That's not right! You're from Gryffindor, you should hope that Slytherin will lose points!"

Hermione said seriously: "If Slytherin loses points, I will be happy, but I don't want you to be deducted points."

"Our Hermione is still the best."

"Eat your meal!" Hermione's face turned even redder when she heard this, and she said unhappily.

"As you command." Hephes replied with a smile.
