Hogwarts in the shadows

Chapter 198 Hybrid Giant

"But what's in the books is so boring." Hagrid muttered softly.

But out of trust in Hephes, he chose to follow Hephes' advice.

So he said to the young wizards, "Then everyone try to feed these blast-tailed skrewts in this class. In the next class, I will bring magical creatures that are more suitable for your learning needs."

The little wizards were delighted when they heard this.

It doesn't matter whether there is an exam or not, as long as they don't see these exploding-tailed skrewts again.

"Ouch!" Dean Thomas yelled.

Maybe he was too happy and threw the food directly onto the blasting-tailed skrewt's tail.

The exploding-tailed skrewt exploded directly.

Hagrid hurried forward to check and said in a panic.

"How is it? Do you need to go to the medical wing?"

"It's okay, it's okay, it just blew me up."

Dean shook his hand nonchalantly, leaving a burnt mark on the back of his hand.

Hagrid finally breathed a sigh of relief and assured the little wizards.

"Everyone be careful. I will switch to other magical creatures in the next class."

Hermione moved closer to Hephis and said with some concern.

"The blasting-tailed skrewts, could they have been hybridized by Hagrid in private? But the law..."

Hephis nudged Hermione with his shoulder in a soothing tone.

"Don't worry. In fact, many masters of magical creatures are working on this matter. As long as it does not cause irreparable impact on the outside world, it will usually be tacitly approved. And as long as there is a new creature that can bring value, that is enough."

"I really don't see what use this skrewt has. And when it grows up, it will definitely be very dangerous."

Hermione looked at the skrewt whose tail was beginning to spark again.

"Who knows? Maybe it will taste good."

Hephis looked at the blasting-tailed skrewt and it really looked like a peeled crayfish.

Hermione looked at Hephis with horror.

She really couldn't imagine how Hephis thought of eating it.

An hour later, the Protection of Magical Creatures class finally ended.

The little wizards breathed a sigh of relief instantly, and quickly put down the various greasy foods in their hands and moved away from the box.

Hagrid was tactful enough not to leave any homework.

The others returned to the castle for lunch.

Heffie and Hermione chose to stay and chat with Hagrid and have lunch together.

Momo prepared lunch. As for Fulla, she went to the forbidden forest to collect herbs and would not be back until the sun was about to set.

"Hagrid, your new look is great!" Hefeth praised.

Hagrid's face turned slightly red. "Fula helped me with all this."

Hephis and Hermione looked at each other, as if to expect it.

"I actually don't really like this."

Hagrid raised his arms; it was obvious that the leather jacket was still a bit restrictive for him.

"But Fulla showed me a picture of Madam Maxime, she is the headmistress of Beauxbatons and will be coming to Hogwarts this year."

At this, Hagrid's face turned even redder.

Hephis and Hermione looked at each other again, as if to see what was going on.

"Hagrid, do you have the photo?" Hermione asked curiously.

Hagrid hesitated and took out a photo wrapped in a handkerchief from the chest pocket of his leather jacket.

He carefully opened the handkerchief, revealing the photo inside.

Hermione immediately leaned over and Hephis also saw it from the side.

She was a woman with olive skin and pretty face.

She has big, deep eyes and a slightly upturned nose, a typical French woman.

Her hair was carefully pulled back and tied into a shiny bun.

She was dressed in a black satin gown, studded with brilliant opals from her neck to her wrists and even to her fingertips.

Although you can't tell how tall she is from the photo.

But we can infer that even when she was sitting, she was much taller than Fulla who was standing next to her.

This woman must be at least twelve feet tall.

Hagrid was also looking at the photo in fascination at this time, "Look, how charming she is. And she must be a half-giant like me..."

Hagrid reacted and realized that he had said the wrong thing.

He hurriedly covered his mouth with his hands, and the photo was about to fall to the ground.

Hephis hooked his finger and the photo flew towards him.

"Well, Hagrid, we've known for a while that you have giant blood."

He looked at the photo carefully and was very satisfied with the woman in it. Her height was indeed a match for Hagrid.

And Madame Maxime can definitely be considered a beauty.

Hagrid's eyes widened in disbelief: "What? You knew that, and you still..."

"What else? Be friends with you?" Hephis raised a smile.

"What your bloodline is has nothing to do with whether or not I want to be friends with you."

"But...but..." Hagrid hesitated for a long time, not knowing what to say.

Hermione stood up, walked over to Hagrid and patted his arm.

"Hagrid, we like you. We don't care what your bloodline is."

Hagrid covered his face with his hands, his voice choking with sobs: "But giants are very fierce, and they love killing people by nature."

"Who cares, we only know you, Hagrid." Hermione kept patting his arm.

Tears flowed from between Hagrid's fingers. "Thank you. I didn't dare to tell you because I was afraid you would be afraid of me and stay away from me."

Hephis joked, "Come on! Hagrid, afraid of you? I'd rather be afraid of the blasting-tailed skrewt."

Hermione chuckled and nodded in agreement.

Hagrid raised his head, his eyes slightly red, he wiped his eyes with the back of his hand, "Thank you so much."

"Hagrid, believe me, you are really a great friend." Hefeth said seriously.

Hermione kept nodding her head.

Hagrid's tears started flowing again, and he wiped them away vigorously, "You are also my best friends."

He stood up and walked to the desk, opened a drawer and took out a yellowed photo.

"Here, let me show you a picture of my dad."

In the photo, a thin wizard was sitting on Hagrid's shoulders.

The wizard was smiling so happily, and his eyes were exactly the same as Hagrid's.

Judging from the apple tree next to it, Hagrid was already seven or eight feet tall at that time.

But his face was childish and innocent, his skin was smooth, and he looked like a boy of only eleven or twelve years old.

"This photo was taken shortly after I entered Hogwarts." Hagrid revealed a bit of nostalgia.

"Dad was as happy as a child... He had always been worried that I might not be able to become a wizard, after all, my mother... Of course I was never very good at magic... But at least he didn't see the day I was expelled. He passed away when I was in my second year..."

At this point, a hint of sadness flashed in Hagrid's eyes.
